+1 Pure Havane
I use 5ml atomizers that I carry in my suit/jacket pocket. I use plastic ones - you don't have to worry about the smell of the fragrance being ruined as you'll be refilling regularly, as opposed to...
I would say neither but from the two, easily the first.
Guerlain, followed by YSL.
It smells like pure gasoline to me. :\
http://accessoriesforfragrances.com/products.html (quite often recommended here on BN)
Green Irish Tweed - All I smell is cut grass with an overrated violet note.
Love TdH and Fahrenheit though, the latter I wouldn't wear in public though.
To my nose, the smell of the shower gels and deodorants is very linear - it does not change over time, as is the case with perfumes. So perhaps one can say that the top notes are reflected in the...
The Perfume Shoppe, they deal with niche scents. $15 for 5 samples shipped is pretty good.
Lol like Diamondflame said, you simply cannot please every person. If it helps, I've only been told that my scent smells "unique", "refreshing" or "old-school" when I've worn Rive Gauche - all traits...
I agree that 80F (27C) is a bit warm for a place to keep your fragrances.
Mine are all placed in a cabinet in my unfinished and very cool (puns always intended) basement, at probably about 15C...
Legally, you're not allowed to ship fragrances through air transport with the USPS unless you have a certain license (that retailers do have) because the fragrance can explode. If you ship ground...
The only one I've tried from the category and I think it's amazing: Black Aoud.
Thanks guys for the little thread bump. :) Since the start of the thread, my Aventus and GIT splits came in. As did Rive Gauche, Brit and Terre D'Hermes. Plus, I'm receiving Fahrenheit and Heritage...
Neat story - original or new formula?
@Candide: You leave Kouros alone!!
Glad to hear that Hednic as I did appreciate the smell of the vintage sample.
Well one makes trashy products, the other doesn't. :D
D&G Pour Homme and Dior Fahrenheit were also ruined quite a bit after their reformulation. Still very good scents that beat most others on a Sears shelf but not their old image any longer.
For compliments, ADG pretty much beats any fragrance out there. You've to remember that the common person does not give a damn about sillage, longevity, the transition to the drydown, a fragrance not...
Lol that sounds familiar. Good read indeed.
Lol how can anyone not like TdH? But then again, it seems that men appreciate it more than women.
But as you said, the atomizer is quite generous - I tend to do 2 sprays with my EDT.
I do spray at the nape so the little bit of hair there helps with longevity but I wouldn't dare ruin my beautiful scalp.
Zino, Kouros, Armani Attitude
Are you sure it is not just the effects of the camera? For instance, the first image below is what the ad poster would display the bottle to be like; the second is what every bottle that I've seen...
Where did you order from? The Perfume Shoppe?
That's really unfortunate I guess. Buying scents directly from Montale is by far the best deal.
And I don't see why they would remove the 20ml gift idea, unless there is a big change in how the...
Is it still possible to order directly from Montale?
Was looking at getting Dark Aoud and perhaps a small 20ml bottle of some Attar. :\

I'm sitting here and smelling Obsession on my wrist as we speak, and I most certainly can smell the opening notes.
Perhaps as SpicyPepper said, your brain just is unable to pick up the specific...
Rive Gauche (the only scent I personally feel is definitely necessary in my small collection)
Dior Homme Intense
GIT/Cool Water (no one other than a BNer will notice the difference)
Wear some Kouros for the crowd. If Gaga decides to crowd surf and comes near you, spray her too.
Nah.. always go with the mentality of "she got a second date."
Shave beard, keep stubble goatee and mustache - once a week.
Nails - biweekly.
Haircut - monthly.
Cleanse and moisturize after each shower - daily.
Keep eyebrows neat and tidy - weekly.
I wonder if anyone really buys them. I understand the fragrance but $85 for a body wash? The smell would be gone the moment I stepped out of the bathroom.
This exact discussion took place a week ago: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/305235-Help-me-decide-between-2-summer-fragrances
Go for DHS (from the two at least). The Chanel AEB has terrible,...
Diddy is about as successful (as a rapper and businessman), sophisticated, professional and envied as anyone I would think.
"What's the worse you can...
According to the above, the range is about 8-12 sprays/ml with variation for different bottles.
I would probably lean towards 8...
No wonder women dig it.. ;)
It has very poor longevity. I don't even get 2 hours with it before it becomes a skin scent.
Haven't smelled the DHS but AHS as mentioned above is the better option.
Remember, you can always get niche scents like Creed from splits which brings their prices well below $125 for 50mL.
Is the difference between the vintage and the newer Egoiste quite big?
Nope, and they won't inform you either. I wouldn't be surprised if the batch number was blacked out when you receive the bottle.
Double edge razor by Merkel. Astra blades.
About 6 or so hours, after that it just settles to the skin but I still catch little whiffs here and there. I can smell it on my skin the next day often.
I wear some designer frags but I've yet to receive a compliment during work/uni. I do get a small number at social events with Le Male (hate it but girls sure like it) and my Brit mini. But that may...
Don't like either but La Nuit EdP wins.
As someone who has spent much time in the hospital (nothing serious - thank you) in the last few months, I can understand the reasoning behind it. It could people in the hospital who are already...
I've experimented with different spots and the wrist gobbles down the scent much faster than other areas (side of neck, back of neck, chest, back of knee) for me as well.
Not a vanilla fragrance but see if they have L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme EdP as it is a bit difficult to find here. It's an elegant cocoa scent with great silage and longevity. It is a little sweet...
I don't often blind buy. Oddly my two least favorite fragrances (Le Male and D&G PH) from my collection were the first two I smelt before buying.
TdH I've smelled before and Brit, I have a mini...
@SmellsLike: Like I said, I do like Kouros and Obsession but I rarely get to wear them because they are not liked by most people - at least Kouros (which I quite like) isn't, Obsession is still...
@Dreamer: I don't think Terre D'Hermes was very fresh when I got the chance to test it a while back, though maybe my memory is hazy. I sort of wanted to get Fahrenheit but the vintage is quite...
I once sprayed some L'Homme on my wrist at a store and found it a tad bit sweeter than I'd like. I also hear it has poor longevity, especially compared to La Nuit.
As for Attitude, coincidentally...
I like the layout of the forum on BN - it is much more pleasant and organized looking. In addition, I don't think Fragrantica allows the selling or decanting of fragrances.
The reviews on...
Hi there! I was thinking of diversifying my wardrobe a little but needed a little guidance. I'm still an undergrad and I was looking for an everyday scent. I don't believe in age group buying but...
StrawberryNet and FragranceNet
To me it's a great unique scent that develops nicely, though not very complex. Like many, I initially hated it but after leaving it alone for some time and coming back to it, I've learned to...
Thanks again for the suggestions everyone.
I was just going around smelling all my samples and bottles. I want to correct myself in the OP, Le Male is horrible. Just one spray to the wrist and I'm...
Why not just ask if they have the product? If they don't, just leave. They're sellers, not historians. Would you expect a kid working at the computer section of Best Buy to know the history of Intel...
Maison Francis Kurkdjian - Lumiere Noire
That's what most comments on another Montale thread said. Hopefully my skin, which has a very hard time holding fragrances, doesn't break the streak.
^ I have a small sample of Brit, it's not my kind of thing. But it does last longer and projects better than London. Plus, it wasn't very rose-like for me.
Thanks for the help guys. After some very careful consideration and reading similar threads, I convinced myself I'm just going to spend the money and grab Black Aoud + 20mL sample of something...
I tried looking for it online (that will ship to Canada) and it's not easy finding it. FragranceNet and StrawberryNet both don't carry it.
Hi everyone! I've been on BN for quite some time, always just learning from what others like and their advice, and I figured maybe it's time to get some direct advice myself.
Being in undergrad...
Best: L'Instant Extreme, soon to be Aventus I hope!
Worst: D&G Pour Homme (reformulated), yes even worse than Kouros
I'm not sure about reasonable pricing but I bought Edition Blanche (100mL) from Shoppers Drug Mart for $92 + tax.
If you catch 'em during those 20x points days, the price isn't bad. Otherwise, you...
They don't ship to Canada. :(
Luckily I have friends in America. :) Gonna order 12.
Edit: Looking at the site, Pure Havane goes for like $88. Why are users on other sites selling it for $20...
Serengeti Aviators Large
I have Ray-Ban Aviators too but they feel too flimsy and cheap,...
