Worst: Nautica Voyage
Don't get apple pie from it, but really like Tommy right now. Never wore it in my life until about a month ago and it's probably one of my top four frags right now...love the notes, it projects...
Although not fond of it...trying Nautica Voyage again today.
I say stick with Pi...just discovered this about three weeks ago (found it for 1.7 oz $19)...love it...love it even more because I'm a Math teacher
Another one I'm really liking now, not...
Nautica Voyage...many great reviews but it just isn't for me.
In your opinion, what is the ugliest bottle that contains an amazing cologne?
My vote has to go to CK One Shock for men! Just look at this thing....
I have ignored this cologne for...
CK One Shock...6.7 ounces... $28.
Versace Pour Homme
Haven't used a lot of vanilla (although my wife loves vanilla)...but I would go with Pi by Givenchy...especially when you can get 1.7 oz for $19.
Versace Pour Homme 1.7 ounces for $19 and Pi by Givenchy 1.7 ounces for $19
See update to original post.
Thanks for all the opinions so far!
Local store has Pi by Givenchy 1.7 for $19, Kenneth Cole Vintage Black 1.7 for $17, and Versace L'Homme 3.4 for $19.
Which is the best deal of the three to wear as an every day cologne to work...
Morning = Azzaro Chrome Sport
Afternoon = Swiss Unlimited be Swiss Army for Men
Aramis...it was my dads, all I ever remember him wearing, so I gave it a shot.
My initial experience with it was very similar to yours. I went by the local mall to look at the colognes...saw L'eau D'issey, had heard great things about it, so sprayed a couple 'shots' on my neck...
Actually most, I'd say 90%, of what I've tried over the past 10 days were expensive (retail over $70) colognes. :)
Two that didn't cause a headache were Tommy (under $30 for 3.4 oz) and Swiss...
I appreciate you comparing those two colognes for me!
Swiss Unlimited by Swiss Army for Men
Funny story, or not - yesterday when my wife said I didn't smell too bad I assumed it was because she liked the Tommy cologne I had on. At the time I had 2 'shots' of Tommy on my neck, 1 on my right...
You're kidding? Awesome---I would GREATLY appreciate that!!!
I did that the last time around. Saved my money up and purchased a bottle of Chanel Allure Sport. Loved the cologne but about 60% of the way through the bottle I seemed to get bored and was looking...
Getting ready to order 3 very affordable colognes to wear to work (7th grade Math teacher) as well as on the weekends. 3 colognes I already have plenty of are Kenneth Cole Black, Carlos Santana, and...
If you've tried it, does it smell anything like Carlos Santana? I've got some of it and wear it from time to time but it's not something I would wear daily to work...I'm a 7th grade Math teacher.
I've been trying many 'citrus' colognes over the past 10 days or so and in those 10 days I've had more headaches than I had in at least 6 months prior to it. Can certain types of colognes cause...
Thallium Sport vs. Chrome Sport....anyone compared the two?
Thank you very much....glad to hear they are the same fragrance...I appreciate your help!!!
I figure for $20 I don't have a lot to lose and have a lot of good things about Versace Blue Jeans.
I think I found my answer...it appears they are in fact two different colognes:
However I'm still finding websites that say Versace Blue Jeans (even have a description) but show the...
Any colognes out there that start out as citrus and gradually move towards vanilla? Strange I know but I love citrus and love vanilla...go figure.
In reading some past posts about lower cost colognes many have recommended Versace Blue Jeans.
When I search for this cologne a lot of the time the bottle that it shows says: "Versus Versace Blue...
I notice there are two different packages for Tommy,,,the old one with red, white, and blue, and then the new one is white with blue and red stripes from top to bottom. Is there a difference between...
Does the original or 23 have more of a citrus fragrance thoughout?
Thanks for everyone's input so far...really appreciate you taking the time to respond.
For anyone who has tried any of these under $20 'citrus' colognes I'd love to hear your opinion on the scent/longevity/sillage.
Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger
Curve Wave by Liz Claiborne
Am I missing something on the L'eau D'issey?
I apologize for my lack of knowledge using 'cologne' terms but to me I don't get a lot of citrus from this cologne. To me it starts out floral (sort...
Went back today just to see if there were any 'citrus' colognes I overlooked.
Tried the L'eau D'issey Sport and while it is, at least to me, better than the original at the start, after about an...
I notice there are two different packages for Tommy for Men by Tommy Hilfiger cologne...the old one with red, white, and blue and then the new one is white with blue and red stripes from top to...
Thanks for all the input so far.
Around 11:30am I sprayed Versace Eau Fraiche on my left arm, Versace Pour Homme on my right arm, and L'eau D'issey on my neck.
Didn't like the L'eau D'issey...
I think I did that top ten back before I purchased my Allure Sport (maybe 2 years ago) trying to keep up with which colognes I had smelled and which ones I liked best at the time....don't remember...
I've smelled more colognes over the past week than I would care to admit (ok, I'll admit, probably 30+...basically anything and everything that said 'fresh' or 'citrus').
Two that really stood out...
I've tried this twice and both times it seems like I get more of a floral scent instead of a citrus scent...am I the only one that gets this?
Thanks for everyone's advice so far.
Trying to find a new cologne so I've got:
Tommy by TH on the neck
Versace Pour Homme on the right arm
Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Sport on the left arm
OK...a lot of colognes around here seem to get a bad wrap although they are popular with the public.
So, what cologne do you hate to admit that you really like?
For me, it's Tommy by Tommy...
I've tried several citrus/fresh scented colognes over the past 5 or 6 days and can't find any I like that project very much or lasts more than about 3 hours on me (except Tommy by TH...which seems to...
Is Aramis anywhere near the top...that's all I remember my dad ever wearing and I'm 47 years old...and they still sale it :)
My last two favorite fragrances were Chanel Allure Sport and Burberry Sport. Although somewhat different, I loved both of them...just looking for something different this time around but in the same...
Let's hope you are correct...just ordered 5.1 ounces ($40)...should last quite a while!!!
Wow...that would be tough...at this moment I'd say Chanel Allure Sport...but that might change tomorrow.
Many years ago I wore Hugo by Hugo Boss....loved that 'outdoorsy' scent. After I finished it I sort of went a different direction with Kenneth Cole Black, Burberry Sport, and now Allure Sport.
Thanks for everyone's opinion and encouragement!!!!
I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Went to the mall today and purchased some Dior Hypnotic Poison for her. Our 19th wedding anniversary was...
Thanks!!!! Are both Fragrancenet and Fragrancex reputable dealers always selling the "real stuff?"
Are Parfum1 and Beauty Encounter both reputable dealers as well?
It seems, with a...
Thanks for the input. I removed the info I put here about he Hypnotic Poison I had here and started a new post since the concern was about one specific perfume.
I appreciate your input.
My wife, who loves pefumes that have a strong scent of vanilla, finally found a perfume she really likes: Hypnotic Poison by Dior.
I've been trying to get her to purchase a 'higher' quality...
Thanks for everyone's advice and help...it is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for all of the replies.
Anything under $75 for 3.7 ounces is not a problem. Local stores are Belk/JCPennys/Dillards/Kohls and online purchases are a options (however I know she would want...
Can anyone recommend a perfume for my wife that has a 'vanilla' smell to it?
We saw several today that were called "Vanilla" (such as Vanilla Coconut, Vanilla Blackberry, etc), but I would like to...
Tried this for the first time yesterday (based on comments here) and would agree...Great notes, great longevity, and for $14 for 1.7 ounces can't beat the price.
Ditto...at $9 for 1.7 ounces or $15 for 3.4 ounces you cannot go wrong!!!
I might have to ammend my original post...I've grown to love Everlast Original $10 for 3.3 ounces. I hated this cologne when I first put it on, moved it to the I'm never going to wear it area of my...
Carlos Santana...26 degrees out this morning, thought it would be a nice choice.
Think I'll take a trip to the store tomorrow and pick up Curve and Voyage!
If you only had $50 and went to purchase 3 different colognes in bottles of 1.7+ ounces (and regular pricing), what 3 would you purchase?
1- Carlos Santana 1.7 ounces $10
Carlos Santana $10 for 1.7 ounces...not a better choice out there...order some now!!!
I ordered 1.7 ounces of Carlos Santana ($10 or so) based on reviews here. I absolutely love this cologne...especially considering the price. It smells like a perfect fall/winter cologne...somewhat...
Thanks for all the responses to my poll. To be honest I'm a little taken back by the results.
Nautica Blue doesn't have any negative reviews over in the review section so I thought it would be...
I puchased some of it several weeks ago and for some reason I can't get more than 2.5 hours or so out of this one. I started with 2 sprays and went as far as 2 on the neck, one on each arm, and 1 on...
Went by a local store today and found the listed colognes for under $20 for 2.5+ ounces.
Which one* offers the best combination of great notes, longevity, and sillage?
Actually you can vote for...
Simple as that...is there a men's cologne that starts out as citris and ends with woodsy?
Since I put my first post up here I've been saying that I love citris and dislike 'woodsy' colognes. Well, for some reason over the past couple of days, I've fallen in love with a 'woodsy' cologne -...
OK...I typically cannot stand woodsy colognes but for some reason I'm in love with Burberry Sport. Every time I'm near a place I can get my hands on a tester I gotta go by and get a spray of it. I...
In the past I've always used one cologne, wore it year round until I ran out of it, purchased another cologne, wore it year round until I ran out of it, etc.
After finding these boards I now see...
I tried it again today. I went to 5 sprays and it lasted a max of 4 hours. Asked my wife what she thought and she couldn't tell I had anything on.
Thanks for all your advice. I greatly...
Yes...purchased 1.17oz for $6.
I agree...lasts at least 7 hours, usually more.
I had the opportunity to try the Lomani today. Got the first whiff and all I could think was Aramis..something about the Lomani took be back to a time when my father was still alive and wearing his...
Let me preface this post by saying that I'm a newbie when it comes to actually thinking about the different aspects of colognes. For 28 years (since I was 16) I've been the guy that buys one cologne...
Right before I put my shirt on to leave the house...typically about 30 minutes after I've showered.
Awesome...thanks for your advice. I think that patient part is what's going to kill me!
I guess only the fact that on that post I was looking for opinions on which of those would be worthy of a purchase (minus the Cuba Gold), and on this one I've already purchased them and wanting to...
I purchased the following 6 colognes blindly for a total of $50.04 shipped to my door. How did I do as far as quality, quantity, and price?
- Carlos Santana by Carlos Santana 1.7 oz
Obviously my loved ones would come first, but if I...
Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by 'cloying'?
Would either of you consider Everlast Original 1910 an 'old smelling' cologne? I don't really know how to describe it... I guess what...
I'm getting ready to blindly purchase several colognes and I am wanting to get your take on the five I'm considering:
a) Pierre Cardin Black 1.5oz $8
b) Carlos Santana 1.7oz $9.50
c) Witness by...
Have you ever been impressed by a cologne costing less than $15 (for 1.7+ ounces)? If so, what was it and why were you impressed?
I bring this up because I recently purchased Paris Hilton for Men...
I saw in the reviews here that someone compared this to Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Am I already getting that citrus to vanilla notes if I'm currently wearing CAHS?
I think you're right. I showed her a picture that was posted here of someone who had a small refrigerator full of cologne and temperature controlled. I told her that's what I wanted to do and...
I tried several 'woodsy' colognes tonight and my wife hated all of them so I guess I'm no longer looking for a woodsy cologne.
It's seems she likes the colognes that start out with citrus (like I...
I haven't tried a 'woodsy' cologne in quite a few years (probably at least 12 years). Mostly it's been all about citrus/aquatics since I had Hugo by Hugo Boss. I think that's the last one that I...
A couple on sale at a local Ross store and a couple on Amazon. Local store actually has the Portfolio Elite for $15 and 3.4 oz.
From reading reviews, what concerns me with the Cuba Variety pack: the Gold smells like Le Male and I don't like Le Male; the Blue smells like Chrome and I already have Chrome; the Red has tobacco...
For $10 or under, which of the colognes listed is the best?
Likes: Citrus, Aquatic, Fresh, Vanilla, Allure Sport
Dislikes: Heavily Woodsy, Tobacco, Leather, Le Male
Thank you for your comments. I've got my one 'staple' cologne (Chanel Allure Homme Sport)...now I'm looking for a little variety of less expensive colognes to surround it on days I want a different...
First One: Azzaro Chrome
Last One: Chanel Allure Homme Sport
I tried Le Male a couple days ago and loved it...for about 40 minutes and then some note in it just didn't mesh with my nose. I guess I'll know to stay away from PE 360 White. Thanks.
It seems you see Perry Ellis colognes everywhere for $20-$25 for 3.4 ounces. Usually there is little love for the 'cheaper' and 'readily available' colognes of the masses...so to speak
Does Live Jazz smell anything like Jazz? I had a chance to smell Jazz and it wasn't a fragrance I would see myself wearing.
