I found it disappointing due it's lack of mossiness. Its very comforting though!
Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm not overly keen to get rid of them! Summarizing the feedback people suggest that there could be a principle issue in charging money for them, and even then a...
I think it's more akin to ADD, so prefer "Deficit"
Its OK. I was curious more than anything. Here's the list anyway......At least i've now got them cataloged...
Thanks for the reply. I'm not looking to profit, just raise cash to help get myself a car. If they're only worth a quarter to third, then i think i'd hang onto them as they're pretty much all amazing...
Over the past year or two i've accumulated a crazy amount of samples and bottles. Right now, i've been selling off many unwanted bottles which has been going well, but i just started rummaging...
Prices include shipping
1) Chandler Burr SE02E05 (Guerlain Samsara) - erm....about 25ml i think - 99% full - $20
2) YSL Rive Gauche 75ml 99% full (metal tin version) - $45
3) YSL M7 Oud Absolu -...
Glad it's not just me. Very shady. I thought i'd get burned with negative feedback by him, but as he violated multiple ebay policies with me, ebay would likely remove it.
PS. Hello Zephyr. Hope...
Although i'm a seller more than a buyer at the moment, i just wanted to make a note to any other Basenoters who are selling to be worried if they have any bids from "us2015.muya". First he refused to...
I find it very similar to M7 oud absolu personally. I love both and although there are clear differences to me, they are both great and similar enough that I can't pick between them easily when I...
Did you smell Pulp Claire? To me that's the standout from the range although I do have a small decant of Seven Veils its very nice, but not one I reach for often.
My NM is San Francisco, I don't know how it compares in size with others though.
Neiman Marcus Tom Ford rep just phoned me out of the blue. They'll be getting Venetian Bergamot in September, but also they will be getting Amber Absolute "for a limited time". It sounds like Amber...
I've been building a collection of Hamilton's and JDM Seikos, but just took the plunge and bought my first "luxury" watch. An Omega Seamaster Pro Ceramic. Hopefully, i won't start buying watches the...
Doh! Ah well :p
$257 usd including shipping for the 3 60mls
I've actually blind ordered Cedrat Boise, Wild Fruits and Kumkat Wood from First In Fragrance. Bit risky, but the 60ml bottles made it difficult to resist :) Can't wait for them to arrive.
Agreed. Roger Moore, but perhaps George Lazenby or Pierce Brosnan (as I don't see him being cool in any way).
I picked up a bottle from UAE too. It reminds me a bit of oud wood, I quite like it, but it's nothing special to my nose. Although I'll keep it, I can't imagine I'll be reaching for it too often. Bit...
For great watches, people should check out the Japanese domestic market seikos. I get mine from a place called Seiya Japan. Absolutely tremendous value watches.
Wow. I'd have thought oud ispahan would overpower pulp, but I get that tam dao might work. I think pulp would be so much more wearable with more of a base, sandalwood, ambergris, birch, but oud...
In what way DNA? Byredo pulp, layered with either Aventus or Silver Mountain Water. I think the concept is good, but getting the right proportions of each might be critical to it working.
So.....layered pulp with a few other frags
Pulpventus - weird. Smoky pulp. Barbecued rotting fruit.
Silver Mountain Pulp - wow. This stuff is fantastic! It adds a bit more masculinity to pulp and...
I love StH too Doug.... But you might want to sample this version first. It feels pretty weak in longevity and projection.
I'm just trying Straight to heaven - Splash of lemon sample. It feels a lot tamer than regular StH, much less powerful, however, the addition of lemon is very nice. It smells a bit like a...
I'd say the longevity and projection of Ambra are still very good....perhaps on par with leather, however I find Oud to be too beastly in projection. I actually prefer the performance of Ambra
It's not very different in my opinion. Whilst Oud is quite beastly in its projection and intensity, Ambra is a lot milder and but the notes are relatively similar, there is a bit less of the woody...
I'd love to get in on a split of Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille if anyone runs one.
I just noticed there are three new fragrances in the 1861 line http://www.xerjoff.com/xj1861.php
Has anyone got their nose on any of these yet?
Edit. 1...Oops two new. It sounds like the...
Chanel... I've sniffed them all, but one leapt out to me... Ivory route. To me it's a peppery, woody vanilla. Many of them are worth a sniff, although I agree commandante is generic. 40 knots is...
I disagree, they are both equally masculine
I think there are some in Neiman Marcus as of fairly recently
Yes there is. Tabacca by Costamor is very very close. I have both. First the Costamor and then B2B. i should've skipped B2B but found an amazing deal.
Just ordered a bottle - wild blind buy gambling usually doesn't work for me, but ah well :)
I agree with Fahrenheit. Too aggressive for many situations in my world. I certainly don't think of it as casual.
Don't forget Remik does this as a service to us all in his free time and is incredibly good to his splitees. He's always on the ball, so it sounds a bit rude to push. Remik knows what he's doing and...
I went a bit crazy in Ralph Lauren online clearance sale. 5 pairs od purple label pants.
More importantly......if they did release something new, what would the backstory be?
My bet would be on a US president this time.
I suggest Molecule 01. It's very light but a great scent that's hard not to be drawn to. You will feel good wearing it and the subtle whiffs she gets will help her feel relaxed, but not overly aware...
In keeping with their storytelling, I'm sure that the house of creed must have had a scent commissioned by Jesus 2000 years ago....and in keeping with basenotes, no thread is can exist without this...
I'd blind steal NickZee's GPH as I've never smelled this frag yet
I have both. Love both and think they are completely different. If you'd like to send me a sample, sure, I'd be happy to compare for you against mine. Feel free to drop me a PM.
I got in on one of master coasters AA splits a few weeks ago. must say I'm quite pleased. The juice is indeed just as the same as my old sample, and came presented quite nicely. As someone who loves...
I think the time to fill might vary depending on:
How new the release is: if it's a new scent, then the community might get in on a split quickly. An the flip side, some more established scents...
Not yet I'm afraid
I believe ZGO in Castro carries both Montale and Amouage, although I've not been in the store myself.
Guerlain Santal Royal
Armani Code Ultimate?
Was the ad color or black and white? Overall lighting bright, or dark? Do you remember any music?
Yup. Donna hit the nail on the head with "numpty general spammer".
This guy is trying to make some commission through using FrangraneX's affiliate scheme. What this does is Pay a percentage...
If it can be found in US, I'd like to suggest Bentley Absolute
We might like to start using the new thread for 2015 in the sticky. Just a thought.
Oh....and i'd say it would be a faux pas at a wine tasting too.
When taking a Sauna it's not the done thing.....but if anyone wants to try for entertainment value
I personally suggest WhichFragranceWouldPeopleLikeSplit as Remik and Palmbeach do a fantastic job making trying new scents affordable and are superbly accommodating. Thanks Guys!
In the general theme of 2014 reminiscence. Rather than the best perfumes of 2014, what were the best Basenotes threads or posts of 2014 in terms of sheer entertainment, enlightening information or...
I'm surprised to see Tralala in this list. It's surprisingly not very talked about on Basenotes. For me, it's one of my regrets in 2014. I find it a bit too "out there" for myself as a man to wear...
Who helped you at Barneys? Those guys are fantastic
I'm hoping Bentley Absolute will make it over to the US. if so, likely I'd get a bottle, although I haven't heard any news of it. Grrrr to Harrods exclusives and UK shipping laws.
I blind bought it....although i like it, i don't find opportunity to wear it. It certainly strikes me as a somewhat refined scent that cries out for a certain formal occasion rather than casual or...
Turns out it was Eau de Gaga. I haven't seen it in the US so wouldn't have guessed. Pleasant and I'll wear it to work a few times, but to me it reminds me of a bit of a cheap TF Azure Lime
This thread inspired me this morn to put on some Colonia Oud for a change. About 3pm I showered and scrubbed as I was going to an afternoon white elephant and put on millisime imperial to not project...
Although again these aren't oceanic, I have a few suggestions for "bad boy" and boozy.
Atkinsons - Odd fellows bouquet - Big booze and tobacco.
Kilian - Straight to heaven - Booze, vanilla but...
Hednic, I 'm actually more curious about your wine collection than your perfume collection. I'm making a huge assumption though that perfumistas like us are also by nature winos
30 years ago as a kid my parents used to take me and my brother camping in a little village in England called Graffham. About a month ago, when I smelled Bond NY Queens, I was vividly and instantly...
Hylnds "Pale grey mountain, small black lake" might be worth a sniff. It's not really arctic, but has a definite bleak feel more akin to Northern European winters
Wow. You're right Hednic. It starts out as a AdG & GIT combination, but at some point 5 hours later I started thinking "who's wearing that delicious patchouli?". It took a while for me to realize it...
Hey Hednic. Yup. I mean the new 2014 one. It's only available at Bergdorf or Neiman's in the US at the moment, but they've been in store for about a month so far.
Has anyone sniffed this yet? I've a little dab sample that I've been playing with and despite seemingly poor performance that comes with dabbing, the citrus and oud combination reminds me of Acqua Di...
Received 1861 and Musk Oud yesterday. Absolutely excellent. Many thanks Rich!
Welcome Kelly E Davie. Those scent memories are part of the highlight of perfumes in my eyes. Even if i hate the scent, that moment of remembrance is something i treasure as a long lost memory is...
Yup.....Richwood and Homme are crazy prices, but check out Remik and Palmbeach's splits. If you like the scent, it might be worth it.
I have both StH and Chergui.....and would recommend both 100%. I'm not overly a huge fan of Bond and find coffee scents feel of being cloying and a bit dirty on me so generally i avoid them.
Thanks Hednic. I might try taking a punt on it. I'm trying to find something similar to the new Brioni, but without the absolutely scandalous price. We shall see how it goes :p
What did you think of Steel Water Hednic?
Remik and Palmbeach have a few splits running for a few Xerjoffs on the splits board.
My favorites are Homme, Nio and Ivory Route (which I personally think should get more love)
AdP Oud has remarkable staying power for a shower gel!
This isn't the aftershave....but the Eau de Toilette is available on Fragrancenet.
As its available now in US, I'd like to suggest a split of Bond New York Sandalwood
Sildenafil smells generic :p
Please help. I'm worried people are noticing my watch/scent mismatch. what should I be wearing?
Off-topic. I couldn't share this with my friends as they'd just look at me like i'm crazy.
Anyway, yesterday i was matched up on "Coffee Meets Bagel" with a cute perfumer....i actually already...
Me pulling a pose!
I've smelled several, but only one got my attention....Dev One, a very interesting dark incense.
So far I've only found one whiskey scent that impressed me (spirit of the glen) and with a name like single malt, i wonder if it will follow the hylnds range in capturing more Scottish notes less...
Just saw they'll be releasing this soon as a Harrods exclusive. I'm a sucker for a good scotch scent, but I hate these limited distribution exclusives. Grrr.
Not sure how many i've missed in the past, but i'd love to see a split of XJ Homme
I've got a bottle of Tobacco Costamor arriving tomorrow to try as a cheap supplement. I like B2B but not enough to even go for a refill. We'll see how the Costamor works as a sub.
Hylnds "Pale grey mountain, small black lake" is utterly bleak
It's a Harrods exclusive for the time being. I've got a little sample of it. Very nice, but too floral for my tastes.
Smells delicious, but I may tweak it to one spray of each next time
Usually I'm elf conscous with one spray, but I'm home alone this eve.....and have a fan and a shower ready for me if needs me. im going to try your TL/OW recipe......with trepidation :p
Amy suggestions for a scent of the day to reflect either a yes or no vote on Scottish devolution results?
'Yes' - Spirit of the Glen
'No' - Blemheim Bouquet
Yup. This is likely...
9 sprays? What was the projection like?
Thanks Iris. Any other recommendations from the dev series. I definitely want to smell Olympic Amber and rainforest now and possibly blackbird, although it sounds like it could be feminine.
Not loosely split...exactly split :). I'd say everything in set 2 is masculine (and great). I've never smelled set 1
I bought a bottle of Dev One last week and was astounded by it. The opening is beyond my comprehension, but the dry down turns into a deeply beautiful incense. One of the best purchases I've made!
Oh and l'artisan have quite a bargain sampler set on luckyscent for $20. Well worth trying too.
