  1. Re: Aromamaterials question about Troisieme Homme...

Aye. Aramis has it, for example, just a light touch, but it definitely doesn't have calone.
  2. Re: Aromamaterials question about Troisieme Homme...

Ah, the woody-amber makes sense. It's as you describe: like rubbing alcohol and very persistent, normally smells quite cheap but it's handled beautifully in Troisieme Homme. I'm not familiar with it...
  3. Re: Aromamaterials question about Troisieme Homme...

But there are... these combinations I've encountered in other perfumes, in other masculines, unisex, feminines, without that bracing aftershave quality. Hm, I'm not sure I can describe it.

    Love...
  4. Aromamaterials question about Troisieme Homme...

What is the chemical that makes a masculine smell masculine? It's hard to define, but now you smell it in everything; it practically screams "frat boy". It's not a fougere thing because I can't smell...

    Re: Please Recommend

Hm, I just bought a bottle of Paco Rabanne Metal and that might suit you. It's well made but agh... I hate soapy scents. But it is perfectly appropriate at all times.

    Re: Grown-up vanilla?

Givenchy Organza Indecence is pretty wonderful. Vanilla and woods, pretty exuberant, yet not syrupy.

Re: Parfum Sacre or Bal a Versailles?

Another vote for Parfum Sacre. It is still the most gorgeous juice I own.

    An odd, magical combination...

I just discovered that Montale Oud Cuir d'Arabie and Coup de Fouet are magnificent layered together, and wanted to share. They're both really difficult perfumes (for me, anyway, but I'm only a...

    Re: Full bodied herbals?

The most full-bodied herbal I know is Caron Yatagan, but judging by your choices, it may be a little more than you are looking for. I highly recommend Patou 1000... To me, it's got a real herbal...

    Poll: Most Underappreciated Scents

My nose is itching to try something I've never heard about. What are, in your opinion, great scents that never get the attention they deserve?

    Re: Mimosa scents

I'm not familiar with mimosa, but there's also always Caron Farnesiana to consider, though it's not strictly a mimosa soliflore. It's got a lot of doughy almondy qualities to it.

Re: May I ask another Caron question?

Thank you very much! I think I'll treat myself to some extrait, it's the leather I find particularly enjoyable in Tabac Blond. : )

May I ask another Caron question?

Thank you ever so much for any and all responses regarding Bellodgia. I was curious about Tabac Blond. I've only smelled the extrait, and it has a raunchiness that is startling, though I've come to...

Re: Recomendations for a 14 year old girl

I'm way late, but I think the best scent for a young girl is Annick Goutal's Petite Cherie. Fresh cut pears, grass, and flowers. It is such a sweet sixteen kind of scent.

Thank you very much, again. I think I'll have to check this one out, regardless. I do love carnations, be they hot or cold. I've tried most of the more "difficult" Carons, and stayed away from this...

Hm, "must have" is different from "must sniff", no?

    Caron Bellodgia

Hi, I'm delurking. I've only seriously gotten into perfume these past three months, and could use some of the great expertise of this board.

Here is the the thing... I love En Avion and Normandie,...
