I have never smelled it. :(
Since there's a similar thread on Aramis.
I bought a current bottle of Polo at CVS last night. It's going back today. It stinks. When I unwrapped the plastic, I thought the box had a "bathroom"...
If I see a stranger seated in a shadowy corner by himself, I'll know it's you. :)
[QUOTE=Dunedain;3970675]Oops, when I glanced at it I thought it was white with sort of a sheen to the surface, but yeah it looks rather to be silver, so that's good. =) Now if they'll just make it...
So what can you bench? :) LOL!!!!
Yeah. I think there are only a handful of us who have been on here from very nearly the inception. The only thing that would drive me off, I think, would be the need to cut the exposure to...
MFK Pluriel Masculin
I don't really despise any of the adored scents, some of them just leave me cold (notably Invasion Barbare and Puredistance M, but I certainly don't despise them). The ones I really despise are...
I like, not love, both and own both. They're about 60% similar in my book. So different enough.
Here are two excellent office scents for your consideration. They would be excellent in any situation.
Voyage d'Hermes 3.4 OZ EDT 99% full (Fantastic, light clean scent)
Joseph Abboud Black...
A back-up for my back-up of Tom Ford Italian Cypress. I just love it, and I always get nervous it'll be done away with. I paid $134.99 for a 1.7 off a trusted eBay vendor.
Tom Ford Italian Cypress
Creed Green Irish Tweed
Bleu de Chanel EDP
MFK Pluriel Masculin
Ralph Lauren Polo (vintage)
Creed Original Vetiver
On a whim, I bought Prada Luna Rossa original off eBay for $15.99. I wore 1 spray to church last night and my wife raved about it, and I was impressed by it as well. Great return on a minimal...
Nice! Great for you! I have a dream...
Sold off 6 bottles today. All fairly common designer scents. Most had that sicky sweet tang.
Hednic old buddy, I've been itchin' for a Rolex Sub for as long as I can remember. That will be my target...but tastes and situations change. With two sons in college...who knows? But a man has to...
I now own OV, OS, SMW and VIW, in addition to those I had listed above.
Joseph Abboud Black Linen
This latest is superb in my opinion.
But I do love gummy bears....just sayin'
I agree...2 sprays were not anywhere near "nuclear" for me. I own a newer bottle as well, just purchased in August. Funny thing is, the "primer" spray I sprayed into our garden tub smelled like LADDM...
Probably good for the soul, but I don't think I could take it.
Gucci Made to Measure Pour Homme
I wore it yesterday and really enjoyed it. 2 sprays gave me all day longevity, and my wife really liked it as well. It smells great to us. To each their own.
The one in the newest bottle (cylinder) style.
Tom Ford Italian Cypress.
I have a good bottle of Endymion at the moment with better performance. Love the story. Great writing, as usual.
I also adopted the Dodgers as my team two years ago after a special night in...
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Creed Green Irish Tweed
I'm just fired up about that new one from Alyssa Ashley! ;)
I recently picked up 3 new scents that I think are going to be fantastic for office wear. One of my employees (at the other end of the building) recently was diagnosed with severe allergies to most...
Dunhill Icon. Just the perfect work scent.
I received a bottle for my birthday at the end of August. I don't think it's cool enough outside to wear it yet. You guys are scaring me! I must summon my courage.
Congrats on your daily victory! That's just awesome. :)
Excellent analysis of the most common traits among many of us, especially myself. The "haul satisfaction" of a "beefy parcel" especially hits home. If I'm ordering one bottle, I almost always look...
I admire both of you! I did that a couple of years ago and discovered that I spend an average of $160 per month on cologne. Hmmmm....I actually think I'm spending more now!
This thread is a great...
I wear whatever feels comfortable to me, but I don't feel comfortable in some scents at all. Some feel too old, some feel too young. But those extremes are in the minority. So it's a wide open field....
Practically new. Sprayed maybe once.
Looking for a good comparable designer. The latest version of Polo Green would be great! But hit me up, you never know!
God bless, Chuck
I'm at Level 3. Just today I was AGAIN weighing the need for a monthly budget. I make a good salary, but I need some constraints. I mean, I have one son in college, another to follow (Lord willing)...
Polo (Warner vintage)
I agree. Not my fave by a long shot. Smells nice, though. I will say that while it got mega compliments for the first couple of years I owned, they rarely, if ever, come on Aventus anymore.
Joseph Abboud Black Linen. If you're disappointed with the current TDH EDT, this is closer to the vintage in my opinion. Plus I can smell it.
Invasion Barbare and Pure Distance M. Tested them several times and never found the magic. Oh well.
Le Labo The Noir 29 that I'm wearing today smells like it has it, but I'm not sure. No BO, btw.
Le Labo The Noir 29
I am planning to buy myself something really nice for my 50th birthday, after paying off two debts and when my truck is paid off. Probably summer of 2018, Lord willing.
Not to me. I enjoyed Oscar for a while, but it's dryness wore on me.
When I get some time, I'll try my best.
The Warner starts out higher pitched and just a tad shriller than Cosmair...that may be why it's strength is legendary. It's kind of more "piercing" in the top notes, if that makes sense. After it...
Great to see you posting ! That's a really nice one in my opinion.
I'm rocking Mancera Cedrat Boise today.
This is really nice. I tried it on vacation. Was to expensive at the time. Around $90, I believe.
Yep. Grassy green color.
Sote: Dior Higher. For probably the first time in 12 years.
Aventus Her is really good.
I remember when I first smelled this at a little boutique store in the Charleston (WV) Town Center called Schwabe-May. It was so different and it just knocked my socks off. The original juice did...
A bunch of Acqua di Gio has shown up at our TJ Maxx. I believe it's a 1.7 oz for about $45.
Yep. Sea...fresh...cold...Geir Ness...
Pomelo Paradis from Atelier. Needed light stuff for meetings today.
Penhaligon's Endymion. I must have a good bottle. 3 sprays are plenty today.
It's been years, and it will never happen again. Too much rotation.
Bleu de Chanel EDP. It just smells so pleasing to me. It's my go-to on many Sunday evenings.
That's a good one.
All time most divisive on basenotes: Kouros or Sauvage?
I needed a couple of "work safe" scents, that are pleasant but not intrusive. Go to scents that I can always depend on when I need to stay in my own space.
I went with Voyage d'Hermes EDT 3.3 OZ...
Baldessarini Ambre for the first time in years. This is a great scent for the money.
Dior Sauvage. I like it. ;)
I got the original Warner/Lauren bottle in yesterday. One small spritz on my left arm. Green juice. Notes are higher pitched to start, a little shriller at first sniff (compared to my younger...
Creed Royal Oud
I had an old hairdryer that smelled awesome every time I used it. It had picked up scent after scent that I had applied for years! A wonderful melange of different colognes.
Dior Higher in the vintage metal cannister. I've been craving it lately. It's been many years.
It did not stay in my collection either. Was not intense enough for me. :)
Your sunglasses look like a pair of Persol's I own. You're a cool dude.
Bleu de Chanel EDT - twice
18.21 Sweet Tobacco - twice
18.21 Sweet Tobacco
Aw man...I kinda have to have this...:)
Well, I like Jil Sander scents, but I love the packaging! Kind of cool European minimalist.
For me, yes, but your mileage may vary...:)
I have a Warner Polo on the way. Is it true that it's probably impossible to date the bottle?
Amen. Preach on.
I think most of the 5 OZ bottles are. Just check the box on the back at Macy's or Sephora. I educated a local Sephora staff person and it geniuinely surprised her. All the 5 OZ EDP's are made in...
His judgement cometh...and that right soon.
Creed Silver Mountain Water
I have the ones that are more winter specific in a tray out of regular rotation. My vintages are also off to the side, as I rarely wear them. Multi-season and everyday scents, plus a separate Creed...
Agree 100%. Less than 1% of the general population. To them, Creed is a band.
Around 1995, GQ ran an article which promoted Creed Green Irish Tweed as the "stone European classic" scent. As a longtime cologne hound, I soon tracked it down. That was the first mention I had ever...
I know! You mean there were colognes produced before Aventus? :) Little did we know what was to come...
I'm at 50 bottles on the nose. It's really just what I'm in the mood for relative to the day's activities and weather. That helps me narrow down the field, then I might smell 2 or 3 nozzles to see...
I recently bought a 5.0 OZ Made in France Bleu de Chanel EDP and it is SO MUCH STRONGER than any version I've owned since the original release EDT. I used 3 sprays this AM and it is almost too much...
Yep. I've got 517's and 527's. They're a good fit for me.
