    Re: Musk deer GC/MS

Thank you for this paper, I will try to search for the full text of this paper and see which paper the author refered to.
From the abstract it is just by a UV spectrometry 285nm just to confirm...

    Re: Musk deer GC/MS

Thank you Mumsy, I have read that book and many other books who described the story and the molecules. But what I'm looking for is a real scientific publication (peer reviewed article) of GC/MS data...

    Musk deer GC/MS

We talk a lot about it.
But apparently no GC/MS data available from public research institution when you searched on Pubmed and Journal of Chromatography.
So we just have to believe (once again)...

Re: Home study courses for perfumery?

Most perfumers start with natural materials because mostly what makes them interested in the first place are the real smells in nature (flowers, leaves etc). But if you want to start with synthetic...
  6. Re: How to stop fooling around with a formula and leave it alone?

...is by being lazy or by thinking about another new project to do? :-)
At least that way you leave it alone for a couple of weeks or months before you go back to it again.
  7. Re: Controversial opinions on fragrances and its industry: Let's share!

The opinion is not controversial at all, it's just personal opinion and everyone has it. And I agree with deadidol...it is probably the way we say it (and the way/dossage we wear the perfume?) which...

    Re: How to tame patchouli

The aldehyde is there but it is nicely blended with the powdery nuance (to me, at least) and not pungent as on some nowadays top soapy note. Hmm ylang-ylang, that is interesting, I must sniff it...

    Re: How to tame patchouli

I have Channel No.5 from the 60ies (vintage) which I bought in original sealed inside the original sealed box in France. It smells more rose. If it's using patchouli, it is just to create the...

    Re: How to tame patchouli

I don't want to give false hope, but since you put way too much patchouli; I'd rather redo a new mix from the start but with a much diluted patchouli (i.e instead of using it directly from the...

    Re: benzyl isoeugenol

I have the same problem. I dissolved in Ethanol absolute and up to 10% it's still undissolved. It will probably be dissolved completely in 1% or 0,5% solution.
  13. Sticky: Re: IFRA Standards - Discussion thread (Temporary partial version)

    Paul P,

Interesting question and it's difficult to answer by others but by the companies themselves.
But if I may speculate, many of these companies are not owned by the same "family" owner or...

Thank you for this article. There is somekind of missing link though... or maybe I don't understand enough. It's said a "guerilla" or "underground" or "niche" perfumery. What does it mean? To my...

Re: Woods - Norlimbanol / Timberol

It would be interesting to know in which form Burr likes Norlimbanol. Is it by smelling it just like that, in a compound, or in an accord. I rarely use it because I think it needs a lot of careful...
