Gucci – Nobile – 120mL -5% used - $150 (HOLD)...
I was referred to this thread by hedonist...I honestly don't know what to say....I have been so busy these last few months I have no idea what has happened to my splits.
When I completed...
I think it's Gucci Envy (the "women" version)
I would go with just the regular EDP if you'd like it to project at all, oils are meant to stay close to the skin.
Versilia Vintage Ambra Mediterranea Profumi del Forte
The Xerjoff is 1861, which I find to be one of the best citruses I've tried.
Mona di Orio - Oud
Dior - Leather Oud
Nasomatto - Pardon
MFK - Oud
I'm guessing it has something to do with the image they're trying to conjure up...sunny, cool, refreshing, tropical?
I dunno, I haven't smelled it.
I think more options actually makes it harder...at least for me it does.
Decided to take some pictures since I doubt I'll be buying much in the coming year (life changes.) This is my entire collection, barely fitting on my dresser....
I have gone through these over...
Ehhhh, not a good suggestion....he asked for cheap so suggesting "hey it's not cheap but whatever" is just strange...
Check out Orange Sanguine and as others have said the Hermes. They'll do you...
I really like Seville a l'Aube by L'Artisan.
Just got it today. I don't know if you're familiar with Miller Harris, but a lot of them feature moss, this is no exception. It gives it a nice earthy feel. The grapefruit is crisp, but the melon...
Careful there....I find them on par with Fragrancenet in terms of shadiness, just a nicer looking site. They've been known to ship old stock/possibly not stored right.
Check out Oriental Brulent also by Guerlain. Might be closer than Tonka Imperiale, but both are fantastic.
From what I can remember, Selection Verte focuses more on the citrus and to me feels a bit heavier. Menthe Fraiche is all about the mint. They're both fleeting. I prefer the Heeley.
It's just how you're interpreting it that day.
As you wear it more you start to notice things you hadn't before. It could also just be how it's developing that day, different factors like...
Jump out of Bond.
Check out Frederic Malle.
Who is? Friedrick Malle
Anyways...probably Amouage or Serge Lutens, it's too close right now.
To me it is...
I guess my love for oud is waning since I've sold off a bunch of my oud-centric fragrances.
My top five would be:
1. Leather Oud
2. Mona di Orio - Oud
3. Histoires de Parfums - Ambrarem...
Sel Marin is by far my favorite. If you are talking about Fleurs de Sel by Miller Harris, it's also good, but not very sea-worthy.
You should check out Tirrenico though, might be something...
I'll let you know in a few days. I have high hopes though, the MH I have are very high quality and pretty unique.
Life is too short.
Really hard question for me, seems like it could have been easier before...
Amouage Tribute or Amouage Memoir Man
Etat Libre d'Orange - Fat Electrician
Etat Libre d'Orange - Archive 69
I love it. It's not masculine, but it's definitely not overly feminine to my nose. It's just a strong rose/citrus/incense. Amouage definitely has their own rose note that their fragrances share, I...
Thanks everyone! I just realized how fun it is to take these. I'll have to get them all out for a group shot soon.
I have the bulb atomizers in the boxes they came in, at first I was...
It's cheaper than retail but there are better deals.
Heh, last year it was Musc Ravageur...
this year I've upped it quite a bit...
The most I've paid was for a bottle of Mona di Orio Oud...even at a discount it's still up there
The SL line is one of my favorites, but you have to be prepared for what the line brings to you. The ones that stand out to me don't tend to be "nice" they're bold, loud, and speak they're mind.
Would you be ok buying half my pepsi bottle? I put it in a different container and only drank out of the original.
Ambre Sultan, blech
They are not allowed but they can't police every auction. If they're up long enough though they'll probably get taken down.
I own both and they seem pretty different to me.
PoaL lets the patchouli/incense/rose/rasperry combo speak loudly
Encens is a little more soft spoken, with a somewhat salty ambergris being...
Inspired by the recent and past "family photos" ...here are some of my favorite lines.
Also, Tokyo Bloom isn't anything special. It's not by Celina either.
I like this quite a bit, along with Sel de Vetiver. Another fantastic one to check out from this line that doesn't get enough love is De Bachmakov.
Eh, buy the 4 oz and spray to your hearts content.
If you find a good batch then nothing will beat it. If you find a weak batch then keep moving. One of the very few fragrances I would say this about.
I would love a backup of Gucci Envy so I feel like I could actually use it. That and more Tribute. That might be it.
Neela Vermiere - Bombay Bling
I cannot imagine a stronger Sova...and to be honest Slumberhouse never lacked in strength for me, but I can always appreciate a stronger formula, especially with my skin.
I'll have to wait until...
I'd say I'd come pretty close to you. Almost a perfect bell curve.
If you're happy I'm happy.
Standouts are Kouros, DHI, and Fahrenheit.
Though extremely off-topic....you can get a 2 year old iPhone for free with a 2 year plan. Phone analogies don't fit at all anyways, in order to have a phone for cheap you have to sign a...
It was a bit rude of them to assume that...that is no way to deal with customers. I have yet to really hear a glowing review of Bond's service though...in fact I've heard many that paint the same...
I very much doubt it has to do anything with the price of ingredients and much more to do with the limited market they sell to.
Designer fragrances can be bought anywhere. When you sell something...
You're fooling yourself. They do indeed hold the right amount of liquid. You have to realize most of the heft of a bottle is the glass, these are aluminum. Since the wall thickness is so small they...
You've reminded me of how addictive Leather Oud can be...I know my scent of the evening!
This was actually the fragrance to tame the idea of wearing a fragrance with any kind of skank. I've upped...
I would not vote for a single one of those fragrances...
To each his own, I don't like the stuffy screechy overly synthetic oud they use in their fragrances.
Hello, my name is starshipvelcro and I'm a Juniper Ridge addict.
So far their Trail Crew soaps have been the stand out to me...I own 4 of them. DO NOT REMIND ME HOW MUCH I SPENT ON SOAP...but...
Olibanum is addictive. There's something special about it, that kind of waxy vibe that's been mentioned.
If it were just smelling the atomizer (something I do a lot) then probably yes. If it were something after it's dried down it might be a bit harder.
Yep. If those are your choices.
Most of them....my skin sucks.
I honestly didn't mean to offend, and as I'm sure you're aware there are various levels of OCD, obviously the more serious ones are life altering...
That being said, I wasn't exactly trying to use...
Lol yea, the 100mL was big, but the bottle was pretty big too. I just think the packaging for the little vial is kind of funny.
Heh, you want a big box compared to what's inside...try a 17.5mL vial of Puredistance M....
Other huge boxes I have are every Guerlain and the Xerjoff Casamorati line.
For some reason, with the somewhat chart-like background and the odd mish-mash of fragrances...I get a Usual Suspects vibe from this picture.
**bows to the master**
I did, but it just seemed to weigh me down and got tiresome to update.
Now I just gaze at my collection...no real need for a spreadsheet.
(Oh, also I used to put the price I paid in...
I want to see if anyone else shares in this with me...not exactly what I do, but any weird practices you have.
For example, in my collection I usually like to have at least more than one bottle...
I'm pretty silly when it comes to what I consider goes where in my wardrobe on here...but in reality it's all part of the same collection, I don't need to differentiate in real life.
Ok...that's just ridiculous.
Anyways, I pay no attention to the ratio anyway. If anything I read the negative reviews to see if it's something I'd have a problem with.
Have you guys tried Pure Malt yet?
Congrats on the Oriental Brulent! I like to think of it as the just as delicious counterpart of Tonka Imperial.
1861. Xerjoff really shines in the citrus department.
Pretty much my whole current collection , minus things like Burberry London, Fahrenheit, and Terre d'Hermes.
I'd still be stuck with a lot of Polo too....thank goodness!
Serge Lutens I think would probably fit everything I'd need...but ONLY if I had to.
Great fragrance, along with 1740 from the same line.
Very nice place to deal with. I ordered something from him a while ago and couldn't have been happier. That old tribute is very tempting...and I already own that one!
Have a different shirt for each fragrance.
No, kidding. But I don't tend to spray on clothes unless it's weak, and in that case a normal washing is enough to get it out.
It's funny, I don't get that aspect to it, but the first time I wore it my girlfriend asked why I smelled like pickles.
I thought about bidding on that. I think a lot of people like the convenience of US shipping so they're willing to bid higher on it. Also, factor in shipping from Dubaishop as at least $25.
Bumping to see if there are any more impressions....
I'm especially curious about how close it comes to both Fille et Aiguilles and Bois d'Ascese as I own those and really feel the need for much...
Angeliques Sous La Pluie, at least there was some effort put into that composition. If you like angelica then this is just about the holy grail.
Well, although it's amber first, then vanilla and (frank)incense second, I'll use any opportunity to suggest Profumi del Forte Versilia Vintage Ambra Mediterranea
All of them.
Except on the longevity and sillage part, which they excel in....unfortunately when what is projecting is unpleasant then it counts as a negative for me.
The bell jars (exclusive line...ect.) is very new stateside and before recently could only be purchased overseas or shipped over by someone kind enough to purchase it for you. The markup on them is...
Xerjoff - Regio
Xerjoff - Fiero
Xerjoff - Zafar...
I don't find it too feminine, but I can't wear it anymore, it grinds on me after a while. My girlfriend LOVES it though so I gave it to her.
Yea, the only problem with bestbottles is their minimum order of $50...I've always ordered from accesoriesforfragrance and whoever the person running it is VERY nice, always extras included. I'd very...
They are boring though...and I think if you did actually explore around more you would find better instead of limiting yourself to one house. Also, cat litter and baby diapers? I don't think you've...
6 differnet amouage attars, Xerjoff Fiero Regio Zafar, Vetiver Pour Elle...
But I'm pretty good at knowing what I'll like.
Thank you for this! I was not aware.
I really don't want to try Molecule 01...I feel it might ruin certain other fragrances for me.
blech, no thanks....
I'd sooner give up on all fragrances than do that.
If they added sweetness it would ruin it.
I too was disappointed with all 3. I keep hoping for the same brilliance as Idole EDT from this line.
Anything with plastic will have the risk of cross contamination, since plastic is pourus and can absorb liquid in small quantities.
To me it's not worth the risk, they're so cheap anyways.
Most vintage creations just don't interest me, but I respect that they brought everything to where it is today.
