This would be my recommendation, too.

This would be my recommendation, too.
Exactly the same experience with Myths. Although I found it to be in the Cartier Declaration genre, yet it's unique and really good. Even perhaps FBW.
Actually Myths is the best / most wearable scent in the Amouage line for a very long time.
I can't find in the directory, nor any reference to it. Yet, actually a reall great, warm, comforting scent. Does anyone else have an opinion on it? Thank you.
I'm not in for animalic notes, to say the least. Yet, in this scent it's not disturbing at all. It's much more a very nice hay-tobacco-immortale scent than an animalic one. Highly recommended. FBW.
It's really a high quality scent. I miss musk from the notes, as the dry-down has similarities with (say) Bulgari Homme. But apart from that, it's a wearable, gentleman-like, sophisticated scent.
Thanks a lot.
I see that you've posted more times YVRA 1958 as a recommendation. Do you actually love this scent? Our country's top niche seller has just begun carrying this scent, I'll have a sample within a...
SCHWARZLOSE 1A-33. This is the first scent from this house I've tried so far. I find it quite pleasing.
I find not many comments at basenotes on Schwarzlose scents. Yesterday I got a sample of 1A - 33. I find it (say) a much better Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Anyone else?
You seem to be among the few liking Sunshine :)
I find Kurkdjian's Petit Matin to be the best in the whole line. It's truly a great scent. What's your opinion?
Agreed. A very nice scent.
Now it has popped up in Hungary, as unisex. At luckyscent they've classified it leaning toward the feminine side. What do you think?
Thank you, I hope someone has tried these ones.
As a scent I really liked (and still like) Amouage Lyric Man. Once my daughter came home after weeks, and pulled faces: Are you KIDDING? This is how my scarf used to smell. Not FBW :)
Again a new house turned up at my country's niche reseller. In the directory I find only female scents, but Neroli is carrying male and unisex scents as well:
Here you can see the notes. I'm not very good at notes, for me this is the most prominent, but maybe I'm wrong. Sample it.
In what sense?
Perhaps patchouli. Basically it's a sweet scent, and in the coming summer heat I wouldn't want to wear such a heavy scent, but I don't think in winter I'd love it. But again, surely it is not an...
Finally it arrived and I tried it two times. From the notes (apple, mandarin, lavander) I would have expected a much easier-going frag. Well, this is in the same genre as Herod: perhaps I could name...
Blend Oud Teeb is a really refreshing, kind of medicinal scent. From a vial sample applied, I find it extremely elegant. I can see it as a signature scent. Highly recommended.
Wow, Hungary IS on the map :) Today I saw it on the leading niche retailer's homepage:
I agree, this IS a wonderful fragrance, by Kurkdjian.
My country's Nr. 1 niche seller has begun carrying a line, I've never heard of:
Surely I will. By the way more bnoters claim they are very-very similar. Say: "extremely, extremely similar, nearly a photocopy."
Today I received my sample. I'm not a vetiver-fan, but I never give up. So far this is the best vetiver scent I've tried - although surely there are many I haven't had the chance to try. I don't know...
The most renowned fragrance-shop of my country, which has been carrying the whole Montale-line claims this is the single best scent in their line in the past years.
At last a rare occasion when a perfume creator is among us :)
Definitely much better than the huge majority I see at Douglas from time to time. But even so I don't find it FBW at all.
I tried it only once at an airport shop. Not worth even the time of trying it.
Agreed, Rand is a winner.
It has some great fragrances, among them Rand an extraordinarily good scent. Highly recommended.
Moresque Rand. Quite stunning. From the very first second, now wearing it for about 6 hours - it's simply the best scent I've ever experienced in my 28 years of fragrance hunting.
What do you think of Iperborea? Actually about 90 % of the comments/reviews mention it on the definite feminine side, but what I feel is that it's a good unisex clean scent.
Today I received a sample of Aristoqrati. I dare say it hooked me. Floral on a vetiver base, a bit sweet, but really not _sweet_ - within the last couple of years the best scent I've come across....
I find no review, and (am I blind?) no comments. As my country's leading niche reseller has begun carrying this line, I would like to have some opinions on the men's line of this house. Thank you in...
Not if I expected much from it, but what I get is nothing to write home about. Thin, unremarkable, disappointing.
After years of "roller-coaster" my conclusion is this, as well. I like it very much.
In no particular order:
Robert Piguet Casbah (I would never have thought an incense frag this good can be)
Kurkdjian Aqua Vitae Forte
Christian Dior Jules
Boucheron Jaipur Homme...
Are you still in love with Casbah? Today I bought a sample and the initial impression is quite favourable.
Today I could buy samples of Nawab of Oudh and Qi. Both scents are well-constructed, very interesting and long-lasting. If I find such perfumes -very rare occasion- I don't watch the price tag. Not...
With two April Aromatics to be waited in the package, perhaps at the end of the day I'll be satisfied :)
Thanks a lot, I've ordered a sample of it. Sounds great, although from your description not really my world - but who knows :)
alas there's no review, thus I ask you here. If you have any kind of experience with this fragrance would you kindly share it with me. Thank you.
I have this and L'Dissey Nuit on my left arm. I would never have thought it, but Nuit is a much more interesting scent.
Today I finally tried it. I'm shaking my head. Not good, not bad, not anything special, not Dior. I can't see myself even trying it again.
There's a bit Universalis thrown in it surely. I find it less feminine than any Universalis.
It's way better than the original. I'd rather say this is a new scent instead of being a mere flanker. Highly recommended.
Has anyone of you had the chance to try this new scent?
This Kilian scent has a different bottle from the rest of the line? The others seem to me rather similar...
The whole Arquiste line is for me a very big thumb down.
But to answer the question: yesterday I bought Carven Pour Homme. Not perfect, but it was shocking to find such a good scent at Douglas. It's a really great scent by Kurkdjian, delivers what I want...
This is life. I personally simply can't stand Aventus, so much that it was an immediate wash-off all the three times I gave it a chance. Yet it's nice to see that you find it nearly perfection.
I have small bottles of their first four scents. I was not impressed at all by them. All of them has some throat-scraping component, and don't find them especially natural either. So, I don't think I...
I bought it today. Really a good sent. One of Kurkdjian's best ever.
Today I had the chance to try the Carven PH. I must say I'm totally hooked. I don't now the vintage, but this one is quite different from those I've recently tried. I find it FBW.
I've seen no other size so far.
None of their six scents have a single comment. Not worth to write about? Too difficult to have some samples? Have anobody any opinion on their perfumes?
Thanks in advance.
After the initial pepper-burst, Honour is an extremely elegant, ethereal scent. Epic was a scrub.
Count me too :) From a sample pack with Amouage, Serge Lutens, Armani Prive, Loewe, Aigner - this is what I find bottle-worthy. I see the extremely damning reviews, too bad :) We are different,...
Yes, definitely I found both on their official homepage.
Thank you for the valuable comments :) I won't buy the EdT, but I give a chance to the EdP then.
The Oliver & Co. line. Luckily in Hungary a company carries it, so it takes just time...
If someone has had the chance to try (perhaps own) both, would you kindly share your ideas on the similarities, differences, etc. Alas, I can test only the EdT, but I found opinions that the parfum...
I've had the chance to sample about 5 of their scents. None of them bottle-worthy. I don't want to continue sampling ELDO.
First I turned to this high-esteemed and well-informed community :) That will come next.
I can't find it on their homepage. At a local webshop in my country I find it for a very low price (I trust them) - perhaps that's the reason?
Hands down Antico Caruso. But the initial, rather unplesant phase is too long...
But nobody dares to utter, fearing the grand infinite torture...
Dior Jules (it was nice to see it above)
Jaipur Homme EdT
Aigner Black Homme
Perhaps Silver Man.
Ormonde Man is in the top 3 scents I've ever come across.
Generous thing indeed.
Slightly connected to this topic: recently I've surveyed my samples. Many Xerjoff, JTC, Casamorato 1888, Maison Kurkdjian, Mona d'Orio, Amouage, and the like. Honestly, I'm...
Green Irish Tweed.
In my opinion by far less powdery than DHI. I've never felt it to be suffocating at alla, whilst when trying DHI, almost ever.
My latest real shock is undoubtedly Penhaligon's Bayolea. I'm in a real disbelief. They've built a complete men's grooming line upon this ....? It IS bad. Not disgusting, just bad.
Thank you guys, indeed. Of course I'll have a sample first. If it's more green, all the better.
I simply love Ormonde Jayne Man. However, at several places I found that the woman version -which I still don't know - is actually unisex, and is very good either. I wonder if there are guys among...
So do I. And among the top 5 ever.
1. Kurkdjian's APOM Homme
2. Boucheron Jaipur Homme Edt
3. Knize Forest
4. Amouage Honour Homme
5. L'Artisan Dzing!
Is Bayolea so weak?
Having tested about 10 from the Xerjoff lines (Xerjoff, Casamorati 1888, JTC), I find 40 Knots to be the most agreeable to my tastes. Quite unique, well-crafted, longevity is satisfactory.
I tend to agree. I didn't find the original one especially interesting, yet this new formula I do find a rather different story. Still experimenting with it, but I can see myself wearing it on a...
Is that still in production?
I've had the chance to try it at Douglas this morning. Although without question it belongs to the 'Dior Homme' family, it does exist on its own right. It's a hell of a scent, I say. Deep, dark, with...
I'm not sure, but from my recent sample I do suspect that they've changed something in APOM. I bought it in Paris at the Maison when it came out, still there are some drops in the bottle. It's as...
Iris Nazarena is a terrific scent. "The rest - silence".
I like it a lot, but longevity is quite bad.
Still I haven't found a Kilian FBW. So of these two Dia.
How different noses can be :) I have APOM, it was my signature scent for two years. Kobe however made me actually sick, I had to wash it off both times I gave it a try. Total disaster to me.
Frapin Speakeasy. Lots - I MEAN lots - of immortelle. To my nose it ruins the whole scent, but you might enjoy it.
I'm tempted to buy Amouage Gold Man. Yes, I know............ still, it's such a glorious scent. The Travel set can be bought for a reasonable price at our country's dealer. And I'm after several...
Celebrating the 1000th post! That is, claiming that no, they are quite different. Go with GIT, forever.
