Eau Sauvage! Great scent for a hot, humid day. :)
This vintage bottle is amazing!
I agree that Old Spice is perfectly wearable for a women, and I myself like it very much, too.
Oh, I love Caravaggio. :)
My scent of the day is L'Erbolario Iris - pure powder. It fits the snow outside perfectly.
Givenchy Le De
Tauer Le Maroc pour elle
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EdP
Guerlain Jicky extrait
My favourite snow fragrances are:
Dior Diorissimo (vintage)
Serge Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier
Guerlain Shalimar (extrait)
Happy New Year to all of you!!!
I started 2010 with Cacharel Loulou.
Coco EdP is the signatur scent of my mum, and it smell wonderful, on her and in general. :) I will propably never wear it myself, but Coco will always hold a special place in my heart.
Jicky again (EdT) - my scent of the year. Have a great day!
Have a great day!
I'm with you, Riannon, wearing vintage Diorissimo EdT today. :) The extrait must be wonderful.
Have a nice day, basenoters!
... and modern Jicky EdT for me :) .
A bunch of samples...
Good luck, libertine!
I'm in Cacharel Loulou today. :)
So many compliments on my wonderful fragrance, but I couldn't really stand my own presence wearing it.
Jicky EdT again :-)
"The Of" :D
"Le De" refers to the particle in Hubert de Givenchy's name.
I haven't counted, but it defenitely was Jicky EdT.
My SOTD is No. 5 Eau Prémière. Have a nice day!
Jicky EdT again. Happy birthday to you, kumquat!
Yes, it's heartbreaking. :( Such a shame.
Cacharel Loulou :)
My favourite Penhaligon's is Castile.
But I never really acquired a taste for Penhaligon's fragrances. All I sampled were rather "watery" in my opinion, but I guess that's just the english style?...
I'm wearing a tiny, tiny spritz of Cacharel LouLou.
Have a nice day! :)
Me too. :)
(If I sold all my other fragrances I could even afford it. :D)
BTW: I really hate Guerlain's Habit de Fete metal holders (the actual version). They look great from a distance, but actually cheap and trashy from close up, plus they don't lie comfortably in the...
Not exactely creamy but milky is TDC Osmanthus. Smells heavenly, but unfortunately doesn't last at all. I haven't sampled Osmanthe Yunnan yet, but I definitely will have to!
No. 5 Eau Prémière and...
I passed the weekend with my good old friend SL Fleurs de Citronnier.
Today it's Jicky EdT again. :)
Have a great new week!
Shalimar Eau Légère :)
For me it was the day I sampled Jicky and instantly knew I had found "my" Guerlain.
Jicky EdT :) *waves to mysticknot*
Perfumeshrine has posted once an instructive overview over the packagings of Diorissimo through the years - including the latest ones:...
Parfum Sacré by Caron is one of the most elegant scents I happen to know.
Oh, my list is long: :-D
Cacharel Anais Anais
Aramis New West
Mugler Angel and flankers
Dior Addict and flankers
Dior Miss Dior Chérie
Dior J'adore (headaches)
Finished and re-bought:
SL Fleurs de Citronnier
AG Le Chèvrefeuille
Guerlain AA Figue Iris
Giorgio Armani, Sensi
I'm wearing SL "A la nuit" layered with SL "Fleurs de Citronnier". Wonderful!
Joop Le Bain
Shalimar Eau Légère
Smooth, powdery and comforting: Armani Sensi. :-)
I'm sampling Vetyver Haiti by CSP today. And I guess I like it.
Dior (the contemporary fragrances)
Shalimar and Shalimar Light
If I hadn't already too many light springlike fragrances I would buy Figue Iris at once. It starts a little too lemony, tart and synthetic for my taste but calms down to a milky, fresh,...
Annick Goutal Le Chèvrefeuille
Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Jasmine
Guelrain Figue Iris
Caron Miss Rocaille
Sensi by Giorgio Armani
Five O'Clock au Gingembre :-)
Caron Miss Rocaille
Burberry The Beat - I wanted something nice and pleasing today.
4x Armani Emporio She, Lutens Five O'Clock, Chanel Coco Mlle.
3x Penhaligon's Malabah, Gucci by Gucci
2x Chanel Coromandel, Guerlain Shalimar, Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier
Sensi by Armani - I had almost forgotten how nice this fragrance is.
There ar notes of candied fruits in it - so yes, it's sweet - but dry, too. :-D
The spicy ginger and dark black tea temper the sweetness.
By the way: I love, love, love the new Lutens!
Ligea is a great scent!
I'm in Shalimar today.
In my imagination the Elizabethan era doesn't smell discreet, flowery and inoffensive like Elisabethan Rose or other Penhaligon's - all the Penhaligon's are more "Victorian" fragrances to me.
It's snowing! L'Heure Bleue keeps me warm. :-)
The Beat starts as a sweet but not overly sugared cirtus scent (the early stages remind me of D&G Light Blue) that settles into a slightly powdery-woodsy scent with hints of iris and tea. I think...
Five O'Clock Au Gingembre - I'm so in love with this frag! :-)
Guerlain Mitsouko (miniature)
Burberry The Beat
That means: no more purchases for the next three months. :-D
I'm in a "sweet" mood today, wearing Chanel, Coco Mademoiselle EdP.
Gucci by Gucci
PdN, Vanilla Tonka
L de Lolita Lempicka
and Chanel, Coromandel
Today I chose a sample of Penhaligon's Ellenisia, a true scent for english roses. It must be the curse of St. Patrick: I hate Ellenisia so much that I will have to take a second shower right away....
Thanks for your compliment. ;-) No, no ancestors, but I used to live in Italy for one year and my partner is italian, too.
Have a good time, celebrating with your family and friends!
Buon compleanno, Lady in Black! Ti auguro tante belle esperienze olfattive e que tu scopra ancora più fragranze di sogno.
I'm in Penhaligon's Malabah today. :-)
What fragrance a person wears also depends on his/her general personal interest in scents.
I know quite a few people who do have the culture and the financial background to afford...
Vent Vert, Diorella and Miss Dior are really good ideas.
I want to add Dior's Eau Sauvage.
Miya Shinma has two green fragrances, too: Feuillage Vert and Kazé.
Today I've tried L'Artisan's "Mimosa pour moi" and the Calypso "Mimosa".
"Mimosa pour moi" is nice, summery, slightly sweet and pleasant enough, but a little too cucumbery for my taste.
Serge Lutens Five O'Clock Au Gingembre - unsniffed. http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/konfus/g045.gif
My impatience was stronger than all my reasons.
Gucci by Gucci
and a number of samples.
I've just tried Champs-Élysées, Kenzo Summer and the Yves Rocher Pur Desir Mimosa.:-)
Guerlain is the clear winner so far: a crisp and shining green start and a lovely drydown with honeyed notes...
There are three different "light" versions of Shalimar out there:
Shalimar Eau Parfumée Légère (2003, Mathilde Laurent) - discontinued but still available here and there
Shalimar Light (2004,...
Again Roudnitska's admirable Parfum de Thérèse. My sample is almost empty...
You are amazing http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/konfus/g040.gif - thanks a lot!
Years ago I used to wear this one, :-) today I find it a bit sultry.
I've just ordered samples of Mimosa...
Oh, they have a mimosa, too? I've put it on my list.
You've hit the nail right on the head: I love honeysuckle, especially my Chèvrefeuille by Annick Goutal.
That's just what I wanted to...
Champs-Elysées contains mimosa? Interesting, must try it again.
And yes, Farnesiana by Caron is a mimosa scent I would love to try but it's one of the urn fragrances and I don't have a Caron...
Hello, dear basenoters!
I'm looking for a mimosa scent. The only one I've tried is Mimosaique by Patricia de Nicolai. It's nice, but not quite *it*...
Hermès, Eau de Merveilles
Hermès, Elixir de Merveilles
Nicolai, Vanilla Tonka
Sample of the day: PdN Vanilla Tonka.
Lemon, vanilla, spices and francincense on a creamy tonca base. It's definitely my favourite of the Nicolai's so far.
Chanel Coromandel - yes, it's cold over here. We even had some snow this morning! Brrr....
Today I felt like wearing something more winterly, a warming and sunny fragrance:
Theorema by Fendi.
Armani Emporio She
Thanks for the link, tigs!
Uh, sorry for the typo.
The perfume is divine: softer, lusher, more descreet and sensual than the other concentrations.
Personally I can only wear the perfume, because it stays closer to the skin and smells so much...
How is it??? I'm SO curious to smell it!
My choice today is Gucci by Gucci. We're having stormy weather and Gucci comforts me.
Le Chèvrefeuille by Annick Goutal
Coco Mademoiselle http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/frech/o045.gif
It's just a completely different scent than Coco.
Coco is a wonderful oriental. I love to smell it on others, but not on me....
Dior: Diorling, Dioressence
Patou: Bal à Versailles
and of course the already mentioned Chamade by Guerlain.
5x Gucci by Gucci
4x Coco Mademoiselle, Emporio She
3x L de Lolita Lempicka, Armani Code Femme
2x Theorema, Miss Rocaille, Goutal Le Chèvrefeuille
Spring weather outside! I'm celebrating it with Caron's beautiful Miss Rocaille.
