    Re: Scent Twins - Derivative?

Nuits de NoHo - Definitely similar to Angel

Chinatown-This one reminded me of Guerlain's Jardins de Bagatelle. Different top notes, but similar drydown.

Re: Is there a perfume that smells like this...

IF you'll be in NYC soon, I definitely recommend doing some sniffing at Aedes de Venustas, Bond No. 9, Barney's, Bergdorf's, and ultimately...CB I Hate Perfume in Brooklyn. Mr. Brosius does "custom"...

I love CB's stuff(what I've tried so far)! He was the nose behind a LOT of Demeter's too, so I definitely second trying both of those rec's.

    Re: What is that note?

Before I saw the notes listed above...I was gonna say musk. It might that. It may be a certain TYPE of musk that doesn't agree with you.

    Re: your favorite discontinued frags

How about Roma? Is that one discontinued too? That one is so pretty.

I also am a fan of Grandiflorum scents...especially Absinthe. They're discontinued too. :(

    Re: Should I or shouldn't I

IF you don't like the EDT...don't buy it. Try another formulation...preferably parfum. If you don't like the parfum...the scent is not for you.

Re: Match a Frag with a Famous Work of Art

I love these paintings too! Although I'd probably pick something from the Rosine line for 'The Swing'. For 'Useless Resistance'...I like your suggestion for Boudoir!

Oooh, good one. Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe I profumi di Firenze's Acqua di Firenze/Caterina de Medici? Something like that.

Re: Why is my Ciara hated? I need advice

I agree with dabbing too. Ultimately, I would wear the scent...no matter who liked it or not. I wear fragrance for ME. Don't give it up if you love it!

    Re: A fantastic lavender scent?

One of my favorite lavender scents is Caron's Pour Homme. Technically a "mens" fragrance, but it is one of the softest, prettiest lavenders out there, IMO.

    Re: Sillage Monsters!

I love Un Jardin sur le Nil's sillage too. VERY nice. Also Parfums Delrae's Bois de Paradis. Gorgeous stuff.

Angel has mucho sillage too, although I can't wear it. I do like Angel Innocent.

  19. Re: The smell of flesh, life, and death: Perfume - The Coffret of the Senses

I'd love to acquire this coffret...or at least samples of the scents. I'd love to smell a perfumer's take on the scents described in the book.

Re: Your thoughts on Obsession Night?

I found this very similar to Armani Code, but a touch more wearable. I didn't hate it, but I know exactly what you mean about it being generic, etc.

Re: Why do they still come in flacons?

I definitely don't mind that some scents still come in flacons. In some way, it makes the perfume feel more special to me...and easier to decant! LOL.
