I've never tried 7 Natural. Solo Absoluto is actually the first Loewe flanker I've ever tried.
This is something I personally struggle with.
I think the last time I finished a bottle was years and years ago, and my collection just bloats from month to month.
Sometimes I feel really guilty...
I wear two of the fragrances listed here (Edition Blanche and Encre Noir)
Can't say I've ever smelled either on anyone else. Love both.
My only previous experiences with the Loewe house were 7, which I enjoyed, and Esencia, which I absolutely loved.
Today I received this as a gift, and I must say at first I was a bit underwhelmed.
Lots of fragrances do great year round, and act differently under different weather.
Prada Infusion, Kouros, Fahrenheit, Givenchy Gentleman, Quorum, Grey Flannel, Agua Brava, Caron PUH, Yatagan,...
I enjoy blind buying unique fragrances, and I was very excited to order this one (which I couldn't test even if I wanted to)
However, I'm reading some reviews and some people say it's very 'plain...
I still haven't experienced anything I would consider 'too much civet'.
I just can't get enough of it. I have to try Muscs Koublai Khan.
Prada Infusion d'Homme, which is definitely much soapier than Amber PH.
I don't even find Amber PH soapy, just cloyingly sweet.
Same thing for Essenza, I don't find it soapy. I think the...
Didn't know it was polarizing at all, but I don't think I checked its review section.
Great fragrance. Very deep, wet, serene and grey. Definitely on my to buy list.
Recently got a bottle of this for very little and I must say it was quite a surprise
It doesn't really smell like anything I've ever smelled before.. To the point where I haven't even actually...
Got two samples of this with a mail order today
Wearing it on my wrist right now
Smells exactly like 1 Million. I can't give a side by side development comparison because I don't have any 1...
Myth: Fragrance is age, gender, sex, style, or era specific
Rive Gauche & Infusion D'Homme
I rarely shave; when I do, I need something to cool me down.
i.e; Colonia Assoluta, Rive Gauche
Edit: Just noticed both the AdP line and RG were previously mentioned. Very nice!
lol, I wish it was the former as well!
What's the story behind this brand/project? Who came up with the idea?
Kinski is one of my favourite actors of all time
lol, I really have no idea, that's the point
These were all bought blind, with nothing but how interested I was by reviews to go on
If I end up not liking some, I'll just give them to friends or...
I usually only do 1~3 sprays.
1 being if I'm not really doing anything and just want to smell nice to myself OR I am going to a very sombre event, 2~3 for every other occasion.
My skin tends to...
Except Noir de Reminiscence, which I got here: http://www.perfumedigital.net/
Also grabbed some other very nice deals at this website, like 150ml of Esencia for little...
Narciso Rodriguez for Him
I just found a great Spanish online retailer with very affordable prices and that carried many brands I have never heard of that that attracted my eye.
I have literally no experience with them other...
It seems like prices are much more enticing overseas; yet when shipping costs are added, the hassle and wait rarely justifies the small difference.
What do you guys use?
Could be anything, you can't tell for sure. Could be the mixture of several things.
Volume gets you noticed and complimented.
I just came from the mall too, and am also covered in concoctions....
Do so, I highly reccomend it!
First feminine I've ever owned, and I couldn't be happier. It's just SO sexy and lush.
Hell, I'm a straight man and if I ever smelled this on another man, I'd be all...
My 'A*Men Spot' was a spot reserved for an off kilter, gaudy fragrance from the rest of my line and sense of aesthetics. When I was getting started, A*Men did this job decently, but...
Few I've come across
Encre Noire - Sycomore
Azzaro Visit - CdG Sequoia
Loewe 7 - CdG Incense Series
Dior Homme EDT - Glam
Rochas Man - Sweet
Mugler Cologne - Green
Cool Water - Deodorant
Bod must be a sponsor of the show.. This season they had a huge closeup on carefully planted Bod Sprays, which the cast then sprayed on eachother
Anyway, Le Male, 1 Million, AdG, A*Men, Cool...
I would gladly take many fragrances off your hands including this one if only you shipped to EU, shame!
But I perfectly understand why North American users wouldn't want to go through that hassle.
I own DH but not Kouros, but prefer Kouros
DH was pretty much a blind buy. While I don't dislike it, I think I could have done much better
A bottle parading that it's the world's most expensive perfume is beyond tacky and tasteless, and says alot about the company and its potential customers.
I don't know if they plan to discontinue the tin can or differentiate and limit distribution through different markets.
I've seen both the tin can and La Collection being sold at different stores...
That's La Collection. 125ml tin can? It will smell great :)
Finally managed to test these. I have no experience with the M7, Jazz and Pour Homme originals, but the original Rive Gauche is one of my favourite fragrances ever and I'm A/B'ing the two of them
Maybe that's why I disliked L'Instant, I hate La Nuit
Citrus and cocoa. Tacky and burning combination in my opinion.
I think this is much better than Polo
Polo is gauche and kitsch, Esencia is suave and classy
Today I went with less than 1ml... You're right, it's 100% olfactory fatigue.
For some reason, before I spray, I can smell the scent from the sprayer. Afterwards, something just 'blocks' my nose and...
I'm only 20 years old and I find it perfectly age appropriate
It just smells like a high quality classy shaving foam. Old enough to shave? Old enough to wear Rive Gauche. Not old enough to shave but...
Finally tested it.
Very plesant scent. A barbershoppy scent with lots of apple and some incense. I only get vetiver very late into the drydown. Lots of Iso E Super in the drydown, which isn't...
Finally managed to test and give Kouros a full wearing. Wearing it as I write this.
-I don't find the top notes challenging at all. They're funky but very attractive and inviting
-The drydown is...
Wearing it right now. Very clean and inviting musk.
I love it when I get whifts from it. Very smooth scent.
Got the samples today, though I'll only be trying them tomorrow because I'm already covered in other things.
I'll wear it out in the morning. Hopefully I'll like it!
Finally got a hold of some Cipresso di Toscana and Colonia Intensa samples
CdT - Very bland and boring when I could actually smell it, quickly disappeared
Colonia Intensa - It's ok.... Reminds...
From the YSL line, at least Rive Gauche and Jazz have been reformulated and repackaged in 80ml black cubic bottles, which are being sold at PREMIUM prices.
Some stores still carry the old RG,...
Rive Gauche works for all seasons and all occasions. I cannot think of any occasion where it wouldn't do good.
It's very different from Dior Homme imo. In smell, projection, longevity and ease of...
I can understand why one could not find it interesting, there's not alot going on
But what's going on, to me, is beautiful. Timeless and effortless, like a white shirt
That's the 1971 Women's Fragrance
Rive Gauche Pour Homme was released in 2003, black and white tin can (well, at least that's the original bottle. I still haven't tried the black cubic bottle...
Wow, that's seriously terrible news.
I dislike Amber. I find it a very cloyingly sweet scent with no redeeming qualities.
Infusion is beautiful. Clean cut, smooth and classy.
Never heard of it before, and I can't 'see' it at all
I haven't tested it yet, I own the classic aluminum can.
If not, some stores still carry the tin can so I can always stock up on it :)
Honestly, I think this is the most complete and flawless fragrance I have ever smelled.
Timeless, masculine class, perfect for any occasion.
I can't find a single flaw in it. Perfect smell,...
It's not bad, but way too salty for me.
To my nose, it's basically a Platinum Egoiste copy with lower quality ingredients, and a VERY salty note
I sprayed a couple of strips and each wrist with different fragrances before leaving the mall.. On my way home, I'm enveloped by a beautiful smell. I didn't even assume it was coming...
I love Fahrenheit in the summer.
Can anyone liken it to another fragrance? I'm afraid my nose is not yet skilled enough to imagine a fragrance based on these attributes only!
Great fragrance at bargain bin price
I'm sorry to say I agree
An expensive, high quality one though :)
That's what I get for not reading everything
I don't wear it to impress or attract anyone (I've never flirted with anyone at the gym), just a spritz or two out of personal hygiene and to keep me from smelling bad :)
Blanche, no doubt
Don't understand the widespread dislike for it here, I love it!
Amber and ambergris are nothing alike
Amber is tree resin, ambergris is a whale secretion
I'll make sure to try it!
I've only tried Aqua and Esencia from the Loewe line. Aqua was just a boring aquatic, Esencia was a great smooth masculine. Will be sure to try this, thank your for the...
I own Colonia Assoluta and it's one of my all time favourites. Lately I've seen alot of praise for Intensa around here, but I can't find any bottle for testing.
I love the original Colonia and...
Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver
Lalique's Encre Noire
Edition Blanche (Try it on your skin for a while.. the lemon can come across as astrigent in the opening, but then dries down to a nice creamy white...
'Platinum Egoiste' is all I got out of Legend
I wear a spray or two of Cool Water to the chest as my gym deodorant.
Only use I really give CW.
MC and Infusion D'homme would work, but it would be a waste!
Anything that's clean or 'fresh'...
YSL Live Jazz
Chanel Edition Blanche
AdP Colonia Assoluta
AdP Blu Mediterraneo series
Not necessarily aquatics, but very nice citrus fresh fragrances
Out of those I have only tried Azzaro PH, which I also love.
I'll take the fact that I very enjoy the few fragrances I recognize from these lists as an indicator that I should listen to their advice...
I honestly have no idea how Creed is still in business
Such poor quality control and product standardization should not be expected from a house charging such exorbitant prices for their products
Don't want to derail the topic
But I'm awed at your one time use of 'only' 8 sprays of 1 Million
While it's not my favourite, and I don't even own it, I vote for Acqua di Parma's Colonia.
It's probably the most timeless classic I've ever smelled.
GIT is probably equally timeless, but GIT...
Closest thing I got to a negative comment was the first time I wore Givenchy Gentleman and went much heavier than I know to now.
A couple of girls waved in front of their noses after they got off...
This one sounds really interesting.. Couldn't find it at any store though.
I think this might be my first blind buy
If it really was reformulated, I wonder if other Chanels were too.
I recently tested Antaeus and Egoiste, and found them VERY rubbery, something which no other BNer had experienced with either...
I get decent longevity, but no projection. An hour after I apply, it's as close to the skin as close gets.
In the past I've owned A*Men, 1 Million and Burberry Brit. Currently I own Dior Homme.
While I don't dislike any of them (except now 1 Million), I don't feel very comfortable wearing any of them.
Not a good blind buy at all IMO.
At least it wouldn't have been for me, because I was very underwhelmed when I tried it.
While I acknowledge that PE is more of an easy going 'acessible' smell, I think it's a very high quality one and prefer it to the original Egoiste.
I still haven't given Egoiste a full wearing but...
At the end of the day, my favourites were easily EN and Esencia de Loewe. Aramis is a very fun scent but definitely not at the top of my priorities list.
Yes, the only thing that's between me...
Yeah, the Antaeus is definitely not for me. Too sweet. Time to wash it out!
I recently bought Dior Homme on a whim and I feel it may be too sweet and feminine for me as well. I don't think...
Yes, it was the original Egoiste. I don't know if it's sandalwood because I don't know what sandalwood itself smells like, but there was not much of a 'woody' quality to it!
Whatever it is,...
Finally tried Aramis today
Kouros feels like a quiet and tame baby next to it! Though, Kouros also feels more civilized, like a man in a nice suit, while Aramis feels like a leisure suit, a beer...
Today I tried:
Roadster - Smells like a spicy cooking pantry... Not my thing
Egoiste - Again I've tried this and again it didn't click. I get what feels like rubber and then something very sweet....
So many fragrances I enjoy and own or have owned are showing up here, oh my!
Egoiste is just one of those fragrances that I don't 'get', at least yet
I've given it several (albeit quick, at a store) tries and not only did it not strike me as remarkable, I don't even...
'Cologney' Iso E Super bomb?
Sticking to designers for accessibility and budget purposes
Asking for general direction so I don't have to spray and sniff the entire store. My nose gets tired, the stores reek, and the SA's feel...
lol, I meant 'power' as in 'powerful, influential and wealthy', not just loud and projecting
Think Gordon Gekko.
Everything by Diesel I've smelled so far (FfL, Only the Brave)
I didn't hate 1 Million at first, but when I started smelling it on every hick wannabe...
Pi was my favourite fragrance ever, I was 17 years old and it was a gift from a girlfriend at the time
Got nothing but compliments from it and never got a single comment like that
I have the exact same problem with it.
I douse myself in it, as I walk outside it's only faintly perceivable.
By the time I get to college or work, I can't even smell it anymore.
I'm not sure I want lighter. I've always worn 'light' (by GG standards) and 'modern' fragrances, but I'm absolutely addicted to this.
It's so strong and invigorating. I feel like a Man!
I can't stop sniffing this, it's completely intoxicating.
Anything else that's similar?
Only fragrances that I've smelled with resembling notes were Kouros and Antaeus if I recall correctly.. I...
