Panorama by Olfactive Studio.
Mancera's Wild Fruits, which arrived today.
A great choice. And welcome to BN!
SoTE - Mancera Kumkat Wood.
An underrated beauty!
I think that if you overdid the application, it could be strong, but not a la Tobacco Vanille. This is softer and honeyed.
Just blind ordered Pomegranate by Ortigia. I liked their Fico d'India, so thought I'd try this one. They're reasonably priced and the bottles are exquisite.
Well, it arrived today. And I have to say that the review, as per the link that Zgb provided, pretty much sums it up. My only slight disappointment is that the boozy cognac top note is a bit...
Fico d'India by Ortigia.
Your PG Mojito Chypre looks interesting too. How do you find that line?
I've been playing around with various Old Spice flankers over the past few days. Today I sampled Bearglove, and it's really rather nice!
Mancera Aoud Blue Notes and So Blue. Hopefully they'll be different enough from each other to each other to warrant buying both.
Bogner Deep Forest.
Make Perfume Not War by HdP.
Arrived today. Very pleased with this purchase.
Also, a friend in Spain has a bottle of Creed Vetiver 48 to bring over to me. Huge thanks to santos89 for facilitating this purchase for me!
Mancera Wild Fruits. The larger bottle, as it needs the odd re-application.
Black Afgano. Nothing like the beast that I was expecting it to be, but nice all the same.
SoTE - HdP Make Perfume Not War
Dynamite Dennis, for sh1ts and giggles. Shame he stopped, he was amusing.
Olfactive Studio Panorama again.
Santos89 - You're my friend A, but for me it'd have to be Pure Malt, Pure Havane and Terre D'Hermes.
Ducks for cover...
Panorama by Olfactive Studio.
Just my take, but FIF is the best retailer that I have ever dealt with.
And a back up of Vetiver '48, plus HOCB Tobacco Cognac, and a few cheapies like Old Spice flankers.
You are not alone!
Will do, thanks for the link. Sounds good!
Well, I've just ordered it. In for a penny...
Thanks Zgb. Same with me. It's in the BN directory, if you want a look.
SoTE - Mancera Kumkat Wood.
The notes as per the directory look intriguing, Hednic.
I can feel another purchase coming on...
Thank you. I omitted to say that it was Kumkat Wood that I bought, but So Blue looks interesting, as does Aoud Notes Blue, as I have read that it's not too Aoud heavy.
I shall give them a go!
Just ordered Ortigia Fico d'India. Blind purchase, but a discounted price. Heigh ho.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this? If you have, I'd love to hear of your impressions as it sounds like it might be right up my street.
Believe it or not I actually get up for work around 5am every day - no rest for the wicked :p
What's a 5am? lol
Olfactive Studio Panorama this afternoon.
Following on from a sample, which I liked very much, I ordered a full bottle which arrived today.
I also received a sample of Wild Fruits and I can see another purchase coming on. I'm going to get...
Good Gawd, Rodgers! Don't you ever sleep?
Fico di Amalfi for me today.
FIF are the best sellers that I have ever used. I'm sure that any problems are abberations.
Without wishing to be (but not caring if I am) rude, it's a load of bollocks. My 17 year old nephew wears, amongst others, Habit Rouge (old mannish presumably) and he reckons it's his best "pulling"...
Own both, but it's Egoiste for me. I never get tired of it, but I do have times when I tire of TV.
Emoe, you're not alone. I have had a bit of a sabbatical from fragrances for six months, but in the last month my purchases are as follows;
Arpege Pour Homme
Bogner Deep Forest
SoTE - Penhaligon's Racquets Formula.
Grossmith Golden Chypre.
Just ordered the new version of Patou Pour Homme, as I rather like it. Plus Make Perfume Not War by Histoires de Parfums. A blind buy, but I like the look of the notes. We shall see...
My dear chap, I wish that my morning constitution smelled like Devin! lol
No regrets per se, if I don't like it then it goes up for sale. A bigger regret would have been not to give it a try.
Ho Hang this evening.
With me it's Aramis. I put it on, and I'm transported back to my early twenties again. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
Just blind ordered Bogner Deep Forest from Beauty Encounter. Hopefully, it will be right up my street.
Caron's 3rd Man.
I also like Champaca Absolute, but it wears on the feminine side to me.
Me too. Sampled it at the beginning of this journey and wondered who would ever want to smell like that. Revisited after 5 years and really enjoyed it.
Same with MKK.
A back up of Creed Vetiver 1948.
A huge shout out to Santos89 for helping me with this purchase. Thanks A!
Jack by Jack Perfumes (Richard E Grant) is a citrussy marijuana scent.
And, unlike Bill Clinton, I DID inhale...
Muscs Koublai Khan. Hated it at first, but I'm a believer now.
Thank you Hednic, I like it very much.
And thank you for your references to Gengis Khan. Sampled it, loved it, bought it!
No suggestions, I'm afraid, but my best wishes for your speedy recovery.
Olfactive Studio Panorama. Like an amped up Kiehl's Forest Rain.
First of all, good luck to Saripatates.
I just love the idea of a calling a fragrance "Holy Shit" just as I liked the name "Ugly Bastard" by the Australian house, Bud Perfumes. After all of those...
Mancera Kumkat Wood.
Bought this, just this week. Very impressed!
I've only tried Kumkat Wood, it was my SOTD today, from a sample. Just ordered a full bottle. Like it very much.
Creed Green Valley. 2 x 75ml back up's plus one currently in use, plus a 250ml flacon mixed in equal parts with Green Irish Tweed.
Plus one back up of Vetiver 48 in addition to one in use. I'd...
Mancera Kumkat Wood, from a sample.
Mancera Kumkat Wood and Olfactive Studio Panorama. The latter is like a beefed up Kiehl's Forest Rain. I like them both.
Houbigant Fougere Royale and Caron The Third Man. Thanks as always to Aus Liebe Zum Duft for their excellent service.
Just to say that I'm largely happy. The only one that I will put back on the market is Ho Hang Club. I really disliked this, the top reminded me of Creed Royal Delight a bit, and I don't like that...
RCavs - I haven't given it a full wearing yet, but the back of the hand test worked out well. Seemed to me like a quite quiet chypre, but it has a dryness to it, possibly the lavender? I'll give it a...
Decided to treat myself over the last weekend and went a bit retro.
I bought Capucci's R de Capucci (which arrived today and which I like very much) and Punjab. Also Ho Hang and Ho Hang Club by...
Gengis Khan a couple of days ago. I think I'm in love...
Lancome Sagamore from a miniature.
Gengis Khan EdT, from a miniature that I bought. Me likey.
Happy birthday Artlin.
Pretty much daily. I frequently wear Tabac Original to bed, as I find it soothing. Taylor's Shaving Shop too.
I also wear Baldessarini Del Mar Marbella and Seychelles on dark winter evenings at...
Dracula - C&S No 88
Thank you for your input, gentlemen. Good to see so many who appreciate this house.
Strangely enough, Tuscany has never done it for me. The orange/earthy vibe that I get is like Td'H to my nose,...
The only after shave I have is Patou Pour Homme, and it ain't half bad. Back in the Eighties I wore Zino A/S and it was nuclear stuff
Been away for a while, but glad to be back.
I appreciate that not everyone is a fan, but I personally think that Aramis is a house that represents excellent value for money. My favourites are...
Glad it went to a good home, Dave!
Creed Vetiver 48.
Happy birthday, Jon!
Grossmith's Golden Chypre, which arrived yesterday. Bloody lovely stuff.
Hello everyone, it's been a while.
Treated myself to a 100ml bottle of Grossmith Golden Chypre today. Very taken with it.
Interesting. I didn't get a cannabis note when I tried it, but I was in the clutches of it's liquid cousin at the time
Richard E Grant's Jack has a prominent cannabis/marijuana note. Perhaps he...
These were waiting for me last night, when I got home.
Light My Fire started out interestingly, but after half an hour the prevailing note was vetiver, a note I am not particularly fond of in it's...
It has a swastika on it?
OK, I'll play.
Bois du Portugal
Green Irish Tweed
Virgin Island Water
Spice and Wood
Silver Mountain Water
Royal Scottish Lavender.
Happy birthday, Jon!!!
Histoires de Parfums 1740 Marquis de Sade.
Probably all of them, as and when I run out of them. But I reckon that what I have will pretty much see me through until I have to don the old pine overcoat..
For me, SMW has a cold quality about it that lends itself to colder weather. Himalaya too.
Woke up to snow, so Himalaya seemed apt.
Like Mr Reasonable said, this is a testament to your good relationship with the SA's. Good for you and well done on this very rare acquisition.
It's absolutely brass monkey weather today, so it's Silver Mountain Water.
Another one for Himalaya.
I also prefer Silver Mountain Water as a cold, winter scent as well.
