"short trousers fastened just below the knee, now chiefly worn for riding a horse or as part of ceremonial dress", of which apparently "britches" is a variant spelling.
  3. Re: Grown man clothing (slacks, dress shirts, shoes and ties)

Not sure about that one. But if you use those things that go over your shoulders to keep your trousers up, be sure to call those "braces" and not "suspenders".
  4. Re: Grown man clothing (slacks, dress shirts, shoes and ties)

    Both terms get used.
  5. Re: Grown man clothing (slacks, dress shirts, shoes and ties)

LOL let's not get out of hand. Mostly I use "trousers" because I don't want to get laughed at when I travel to the UK. "Pants" = "underwear" there.
  6. Re: Grown man clothing (slacks, dress shirts, shoes and ties)
