Unfortunately, yes. I had a very bad sneezing fit with Oud Ispahan. The scent was nauseating to me to begin with but then the sneezing started. Afterwards, my nose turned a shade of red I hadn't...
1-Anything related to the mainstream releases from Gucci, Chanel etc.
2-Oud related frags/discussions
3-Beyond ridiculous pricing(See Roja Dove)
4-The semantics police.
If you're up to sampling give Cio Cio San from MDCI. Its a very interesting citrus/floral combo. I believe the citric aspect is provided by a yuzu/lime combo.
MDCI-Cio Cio San (from a small sample)
Stepping across the aisle to try this. This scent is a wonderful light citrus/floral. Almost unisex(but leaning to the feminine).
Completely agree. Disappointed.
From a sample.
A spicy/floral sandalwood.
Unfortunately, its Aventus for me too. I have tried it several times. Its perfectly nice but just that, nice. For me, its not FBW.
Named after the book by Simone de Beauvoir
From a sample
1) Confident and professional-Chypre Palatin from MDCI
2) Sexiest(date night)-Musc Ravageur from Malle
3) Fun-agree with Badarun-NK incense/Black Afgano(will will/do notice)
First sniff/wearing. Well, this is different and very cherry(bing).
From a sample
(Santi Burgas layering was a flop)
............sorry please delete
The last of my small decant. Too bad for me.
I'm scent twins with my mother today. Seriously, she loves it.
A real beauty
I love Acqua Viva so Ive ordered a sample(fingers crossed its the orange equivalent) plus a sample of She Came to Stay by Timothy Han
Heres my list:
O'Driu-Eva Kant (or Leva)
Diptyque-34 Blvd St. Germain/Moheli
How about FUMIDUS from Profumum.
Going to be very warm here today.
Renato-Thats exactly it. +1
I'm worried it might be deemed irrelevant by some BNers. Its pretty basic, Im trying to understand the 8th Art. Just don't want to be thought of as dumb.
D-Bag (Intense)-Kanye West
Indiscrete-Pee Wee Herman
Thats Nice-Mrs Brown
I've been testing all of the fragrances in this line for about a week. As one would expect there are hits & misses. Oud has always been a problem for me, therefore I can't provide any yay/nay on...
Would there be any interest in splitting Satyricon from O'Driu/or the Vendetta trio?
These might be considered
Nice juice- I know Im late to the party but this is wonderful. Perfect for warmer temps. to come
Have you tried Eau de Sud-A. Goutal. It is a citric based frag. There is a note in there(Im terrible at figuring which one) that gives it a little omph. To me its a quite an attractive scent. ...
At the moment:
Burning Barbershop-DS & Durga
Noir Obscur-A. Alessandria
Twisted Lily is first rate. Stamatis is very polite and knowledgeable. Its always a treat to be able to order from them. Also, they have exceptionally low international shipping rates.
The warm weather is coming.
I have used the line. They do have an invaluable travel essentials kit for 30.USD. The grapefruit face wash is very fresh and uplifting. Company seems to have good core values too.
I really enjoy doing that. Whenever I do a trade I always extra "juice" as a little surprise. Sometimes just because. The other reason is that its nice way to meet people. And I've met several...
From a small decant.
As Mr Maillard said they are really nice people. From the glowing reports and the interesting pyramids I had to order the Discovery Pack. Every thing was done in 24hrs. Looking forward to this.
This is a great scent. Had it and worn for quite a while. A sophisticated elegant chypre. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Cale-Tepidarium (a boozy citric popsicle)
April Aromatics-Bohemian Spice
Its not available yet, be on the lookout.
Using it as an a cologne. Its scent is wonderful apple and herb combo.
Hope the frags are better than the excessively gaudy presentation & bottles.
Great lemon scent. High realism, I can actually differentiate the peel from the liquid. What a treat.
A fave ofmine is Le Vetiver from Lubin and a +1 for Vetiver Veritas from Heeley.
A wonderful scent. Too expensive for full bottle. From a decant.
This house has so many gems I thought Id take a chance with something different.
For me its Idole-Lubin. Its a fantastic scent, haven't got a clue why I overlook it.
A BIG Lavender
You'll find the sample sizes are usually 1.5mls instead of the petite .7mls.
Aside from sampling Tauer give these a try,
West Third-Old Bourbon
Acqua di Stressa-Mentha
I would go to Iunx as well and pick up L'Ether. L'Arbe is excellent too.
Cilice by Euphorium Brooklyn
Captivus by O'driu
Lune de Givre-Cloon Keen Atelier from a sample.
@david-I have a bottle of Mila Schon-Uomo in a frosted green bottle with the name in dark Black
Is this any relation to the treasure(s) you found?
Twisted Lily are very fast. I received Cilice today plus a sample of Wald.
@thebeck-I agree that no one note dominates, but the frankincense(I think) seems to drift in and out.
Testing from a sample.
Lune de Givre
Notes include:Galbanum, Angelica, Iris, Ambrette Seeds and Woods
This is my first wearing (from a healthy sample) This is a really nice fragrance IMHO.
How about Gris Clair from Lutens/Architects Club from Arquiste.
For me its Olivia Giacobetti in first. Maurice Roucel is second.
+1 For West Third brand. The whole line is very reasonably priced. I have used Old Bourbon and tested Vintage Leather and they do last quite a while. Another line to take a look at is Parfums Bombay...
A wonderful blast of salty lavender with that "O'Driuesque" herbal undertone.
For a quiet evening in.
Now that you've responded I'm excited. I respect your opinion. BTW, the presentation also looks interesting.
The notes fascinated me when I first saw them. Spoke via email to a very nice staffer there about it. I purchased the 15ml bottle. With an oil it should last quite a while. Also,...
From Altelier Flou-Interesting fragrance and presentation
The new trio from O'Driu. Ven-dett-a, plus Satyricon. Names are are a bit much. If these are anything like the quality of Captivus, my wallet is going hurt.
A lovely unisex fougere (from a sample)
Big salty lavender and woods, plus the herbal undertones.
The last bottle I finished:
It was love at first sniff. A little bit sweet wit that "O'Driuesque" herbal undertone.
Very nice, a bit to the fem. side but still unisex. From a sample.
Maybe The Architects Club by Arquiste. Its a wonderful scent that evokes a gentlemens smoking room in Mayfair. No leather though.
I'm using Surrender to Chance most of the time, with First in Fragrance second. The Decantshop has been very quick with the orders I have placed.
As for The Perfumed Court, don't aggravate...
Big +1, great line of lavender based fragrances.
Histoires de Parfums-Marquis de Sade-1740
Excellent fragrance. From a sample.
YMMV-for the win!
From a sample
Big +1 there. Ouch!
I would like to add two:
Led IV-Jazim Sarai(influenced by and dedicated to Led Zeppelin)
These might be something for you to sample.
From a sample (very nice)
Just found out it'll be 270.00 Euros. I think a split would be perfect.
Thanks to Jive Hippo for the sample. Superb complex lavender scent.
I wondered what it smelled like?. God help us all?
When I first ran into ELDO with its scents I thought it was quite funny. Now, its just a bore. Should concentrate on the quality of the...
From a sample
I'll be looking out for it. If there is only a limited run of 10 bottles, it could be prohibitive. I believe I spoke a little too fast. Have to see.
@PalmBeach-so are you going to run a split, Im in if you do.
Thank you for the "no personalization" note.
LOL, I hope (really hope) that "personalization" is not required.
I was wondering if anyone had any information about this release. Can't find much of anything.
What a nice thing to say.
Agree with Arij, very elegant. One of the best citric based fragrances around (IMHO) Its a perfect scent for the office. Also, very unisex.
IMO very underrated.
I change mine frequently. The purpose is to give someone a laugh. Same for the jokes at the bottom.
cacio-I only know them as "pet des soeurs" but they are essentially sticky rolls. They are literally translated as "nuns farts". Delicious but very fattening. I've worn Expresso Royale from...
La religieuse may also have a "pet des soeurs" accord.
Thank you JH
There is a gaping hole, anything related to Roja Dove, CliveC and the rare Creeds (vintage Tabarome, Oger for example). So, no I'm not satisfied.
For me: As noted previously the whole Blood Concept line and Poison.
For an extremely cold day here.
Well, I find these difficult:
abstract notes like concrete(why would anybody enjoy smelling like a sidewalk?)
The only I have they I dislike is FCUK Late Night. 100mls for $20.00(I still think I paid too much for this stinker)
A small gift for myself.
