Thanks. Will give it a go and report back.
The Amber Key Accord is really more of a musk blend. Amber Xtreme is a newly released captive, a very potent woody/Amber along the lines of Ambermax, Ambrocenide et al.
The others I have not tried.
you are much nicer than I, Paul. I just copied and pasted his query into google with gcms after it.
that took 3 minutes. http://www.phytojournal.com/vol4Issue1/Issue_may_2015/4-1-51.1.pdf
food processor? coffee grinder, mortar and pestle
Use the S&C formula. Hits the note perfectly. Gamma Dodecalactone is needed.
I used my cellphone camera and google translate. I can do the others if ya need. post em up.
google translate gives me "List of Abbreviations used in this issue"
SOunds like IBCH. Try diluting it. Also, I cannot smell it on it's own.I love it in a composition though and can smell it clear as day.
Citrus and Allied carry it for about 4K per Kilo.
kinda relevant. http://mentalfloss.com/article/30363/why-does-your-nose-get-stuffy-one-nostril-time
It's available at Vigon, problem is you have to buy 16kilos totaling 4000$
Bergamal, Dimethyl Octenone, Gardamide, Methylpamplemousse,
I apologize, I do not see anywhere in the OP that says basic aroma chems. Thread is even called top 12-24.
"So if you were relegated to just 12 - what would they be?
If you were then given anther...
Musks! Every musk molecule/mixture you can get your hands on. My personal favorites are: Muscenone, L-Muscone, Helvetolide, Musk R1, Exaltolide, Globanone, Romandolide
Sandalwood Molecules. I can...
Here is Poucher's Formula. Should be exactly what you are looking for
- 250 Labdanum
- 250 Vanillin
- 200 Musk Ketone
- 30 Oakmoss Resin
- 80 Siam benzoin
- 70 Tolu balsam
you can source Nerol from TGSC in small amounts. Oranger crystals at PA.
sounds like it's gone off. To me, it smells in the direction if Jasmatone, lighter, less sweet with a soft oily peach shade. Christine at PSH carries it.
I have not tried sav-on-scents dupes. I do however get samples from madinaonline.com whenever I purchase materials. I can say that the few they have sent are pretty close to the originals. Give em a...
Style in play is easily found on Amazon. and inexpensive.
iFoam here locally does micro-encapsulation. you could give them a try if you are stateside. email@example.com . He's a wonderful gentleman, and a pleasure to work with.
Bah! since you can't read the image i posted. It basically says that the paper is suspended in a chamber with a thin layer of perfume concentrate being slowly heated beneath it. The vapors pass...
Poucher has a small paragraph about perfuming cards for promotions but this is most likely outdated information. May send you in the right direction though. 4890048900
for me it's dry and sweet heading in the guaiacol/valspice direction with less spice and a little paracrestyl Acetate shade.
I haven't tried either. I do think Mandarin Aldehyde is worth mentioning. Also Bergamal and Intreleven Aldehyde.
Copaiba Balsam perhaps?
I noticed PA has it back in stock. They also offer it in Kilo's.
Any luck yet, Paul?
anything above 91 should be fine. Anything below has too much water content.
I just received a sample of Gardamide from Vigon. Might be what you are looking for. Smells grapefruit/green.
The Coffee Select SCO2 (item number 1995) from Liberty Naturals is wonderful. By far the closest to freshly ground beans I have smelled. Downside is it needs filtering and falls out of suspension....
and I have to add that it also is a terrific mosquito repellent (killer). It causes a neurological response in mosquito's and ticks which causes them to vibrate to death in a matter of seconds....
Nootkatone. VERY pricey though. I think Liaison carries it. If not, Citrus and Allied carries it @ 4k per kilo (they will sell 50g for around 200 for a sample.)
I have had same experience. I dilute it to 1% because it can take over a blend rather quickly.
^ no. lols
It's a terribly hard material to master. Some salycilates smooth it out though. Try a 1% dilution first. Hexenyl Cis 3 works wonders withit.
Could also try some Choya Nakh in low dilution 1-3% . Very briny/beachy (seashells)
Celery Ketone, Precyclemone B, Helional, Adoxal, Iso Jasmone B11, floralozone could be potentials
Look me up if ever in town and need a guide. There are some great spots locally to pick some. What area did you grow up in? I am actually just outside of Orlando.
oops. wrong forum. please move to DIY
I am looking for a lemon note to add to an incense I have been working on. I have used Lemon oil, Litsea, Lemongrass, citral et al with no success. Although I can smell it present in the blend, it...
Deertongue grows wild here. I love it. Coumarin goodness. I put the dry leaves in my dresser to scent my clothing,
here is a little info from S&C
I received a sample from an industry friend. Could sit at the bar with Ambermax, Bois Ambrene and ilk. Much more intense though. Would probably dilute to .1% to use personally. It's synthesized from...
Cerruti 1881 is heavy on the Geranium to my nose.
The "S" in SCO2 stands for "Supercritical"
count me in, Paul.
Citrus and Allied has a great Neroli replacer #1140.
I make them for my own use. I could definitely send you some to try.
you could punch up the patchouli note with Clearwood/Timbersilk/Sandalrome 3/2/1
Buy every musk you come across that you can afford.
Check out our member Jsparla"s page. some wonderful formulas to start with . https://sites.google.com/site/perfumerecipes/
The New Caledonia is gorgeous. I use a few synthetics to turn up the volume a bit though.
Sounds like you need a crimp tool.
Definitely not safe. Megaphone mostly for me. Sometimes I like to tell the world :P
WLA are very reputable. Highly recommended and great to work with. (not affiliated in any way, just a client for many years.)
Welcome to Basenotes! I am sure others will chime in, but a quick search using the "perfumers search" resulted in follows.
I personally use honey absolute.
eden botanicals has some good amber blends. They are not usable in alcohol based perfumes. For that, you have to create it.
Mitsouko - yes
Coriolan - a cloak and dagger fragrance
Derby (current) - quiet luxury
Shalimar edc - anytime
Habit Rouge edc - a quick affair, yet satisfying
Pandit. My tribute to the great Ravi Shankar.
It's mainly Sandalwood Mysore and Ylang and Oakmoss
Stay!! there are a few you still need to try.

Intense is an excellent descriptor.
friendly bump :)
There is plenty of room left. This is a massive sample package. My sincerest apologies. With the BN changeover and tday I have been slammed for work travel and such. If you would like in, just say...
Howdy folks. Been a while.
Cathedral in Flames for me today
DanieQ, I can add you to the list. There is plenty to go around.
Excellent! I look forward to your thoughts. Mega generous sample package no? :)
I was hoping the old huddler site info would have been integrated by now. Just checking in with you all. We can just continue here :)

They sell dupes. Some quite good. The SoS site has a rating system as well.
I use a carbon filter in my Organ room. It continually filters the air leaving it virtually odorless. The brand I use is called Phresh. You can find them easily online. For a small room the filter...
I am looking for it as well.

Twins with TWolf! /bow. Thank you, I am honored.
I feel bad coming here and telling you I am wearing something I made but, I mostly wear my own fragrances now (at least the ones I am toying with). Today I am wearing this number I whipped up...
Scrubbed off Montale Aoud Musk. Wearing some real Oudh now.
In this Sandalwood number of mine again. Will be finishing the night in some vintage 80's L'Heure Bleue.
What vintages? Big differences through time. My taste swings toward Shalimar.
When I think "fuzzy" Cashmeran comes to mind. Woody Amber products get fairly fuzzy for me as well, Ambrocenide, Ebanol et al.
Happy May day!
Sandalwood project of mine.
Blood Orange, Bergamot, Clary Sage
Ylang, Sambac Jasmine, Rose de Mai
Mysore Sandalwood, Frankincense CO2, Vetiver Haiti
It's built on chypre base...
Any interest in joining me for a sample pass? I was hoping to have a EU pass and a US pass simultaneously (perfumers from respective areas). Any of you feeling up to it? 10 participants in each...
Aromatics Elixir Perfumer's Reserve Parfum for me this morning.
Evangeline I am JEALOUS. PLease let me know if you happen to see Christian Scott in concert. I adore his music and blend perfumes to it often. Today I am in Incense Oudh (my own).
