If the plastic one is supposed to be the reformulated one, then it's a damn strong and good one!
I think it was only a bottling (lay out) change with the juice remaining the same.
Ah, yes I can recall now! Anyone knows how this edp smells? Must be way less compared to plastic vintage as I read multiple times that the edt has been reformulated and watered down badly as well!
Never smelled vintage Aspen but must be good then! I read multiple times that this current version is absolutely not what it used to be.
Stuff is awesome indeed and pretty strong and lasting all day!
Own 2x 50ml of that plastic bottle but did not know that was vintage. What does the current (reformulated) version look like then?
I own vintage Cool Water and current Aspen and CW is superior on smell and performance imo, however Aspen is not bad at all considering it costs only €11 for 118ml.
It is indeed greener and has lime...
Did they all tell you this or you asked them and they said wearing fragrances is a shame? Don't quite understand................
Own Bellagio but to my nose the Miyake is far superior to my nose but for the price Bellagio costs you can't go wrong that much!
I own this and to me it is a green-little spicy and fresh woody vetiver that is pretty synthetic but good smelling nonetheless!
The basil is (to me) only detactable in the opening phase of the...
Aqva Marine for me followed by Bvlgari pour homme Soir which are not on your list.
From your list: smelled and own only pour homme which is ok, but a bit too light.
Cannot agree more!
By the way, my comparison was to urine and not to urinal cakes. I can understand the comparison (to some extent) to urinal cakes but absolutely not to urine (as one Basenoter once...
That is exactly how I experience Kouros as well! I never get nor understand the urinous comparisons people have with this fragrance. Maybe it is when smelling for the first time(s) as I can vaguely...
MPG Santal Noble (vintage): As if you smell the breath of the gentleman called 'sandalwood' who just had 'an affair' with the beautiful 'amber' while he drinks a warm nice black coffee afterwards!
Uniqueness: Kouros Vtg.
Best projection: Interlude
Best longevity: Interlude
Best versatility: Terre d'Hermes
Best scent: Dolce & Gabbana pour homme Vtg. (among many others)
It is one of those cheap masterpieces!
Faking a fragrance that normally is extremely cheap? Hard to believe.........
DH and DHI
It's my signature scent and I own enough Made in Italy sticker bottles to last a life time and more looking at my rotation.
I recommend you to search for old threads on this topic and especially...
I own an old aftershave and to me it is not similar to Rochas Man (which is sweeter and more sugary) but more similar to Armani Diamonds for men. I even (if not mistaken!) thought I read somewhere...
Many caps/lids can also be sealed with the correct tape ,
so decant into 10 > 20ml bottles & then seal it up till required again .
I remember a thread with pics on this method , some...
I own this and it's not even close to Le Male (more to Rochas Lui instead) imo!
Actually to my nose that is vintage Chanel Pour Monsieur so in that case you have to go with the current version which is less similar............
Another choice is the current version of the...
MPG Garrigue is like a herbal version of vintage Cool Water to me (meant positively!). Very unique fragrance but imo not worth the €100 price tag.
Make sure you try the vintage as I heard/read the...
Not much talked about but both excellent:
Niche: L.T. Piver Vetiver (smells somehat similar to Guerlain Vetiver but more modern, without tobacco and less citrus, and with a fresh apple note which...
Never knew/saw of a fake of this one (Guerlain Homme)!
If you like it that much try out the intense edp version! It's even better and does not have that crappy longevity the Homme has!
Summer Edition 2009 +2
Excellent fresh fragrance without the yuzu note being too dominant!
- Kiton for men (can't go wrong with this one!)
- YSL L'Homme +1
- Noble Cedar by Chopard (though I did not like it)
- Kiton for men
Fakes of KT Gold? lol Don't think so!
If it smells great, don't worry! Just a package / bottle print change, like they did with the original KT.........
How do you plan on only finishing those 3 Interlude bottles, lol?!
Got 7 x 2ml samples which will last me years!
Have 7x 2ml mini's of this stuff in vintage format (must be) and cannot use more than 1.5 tiny spray per wearing as it fills the complete house easily and lasts through the day and more!
- Guerlain Vetiver
- Terre d'Hermes
- Cartier Declaration
All took me a (long) while to see how good these all are in their own merits (Chrome for hot! weather).
Got a 200ml 1.5 years ago for only €25 and I am very happy with it as it performs way better on me than (the somewhat similar) Mugler Cologne.
Still 180ml left!
You can still get it here in NL...
Epic > XXV > Interlude
Or get the very similar (but better imo) and way cheaper Raghba Lattafa instead............
I use this almost once a week (got last two formulation bottles) and do not get a tobacco note at all.
Both are fantastic but only in vintage formulations imo! I own both Heritage edt and edp and Santos edt, all vintage,
Regarding Heritage, the vintage edp is (by far) the best (imo).
I actually own a sample of TL but do own a full 100ml bottle of Pal Zileri Collezione Privata 'Cuoio' which is (imo) pretty similar to TL at 1/8 of its price and it lasts all day too with average...
Why if I may ask?
Curve for me though I hardly wear it anymore.
+3 but the juice is not blue, the bottle is
I want to buy a new leather scent and one of these two is on my radar now but I can't test neither (nor get a sample).
Which one of these two do you prefer and why? (leathers I love are Knize Ten,...
I see! Thanks for this information:dankk2:
My two 30ml bottles, bought in 2013 have batchnumbers starting with CH19 and CH21. Color is yellow, smells very good, juice is strong and lasts all day.
- Vintage Polo Green
- Polo Crest
- Chevignon Brand
- Krizia Uomo
- Irisch Moos
- Loewe Esencia
Think you will like 'all' when loving Modern Reserve!
Got two 30ml of the spray/splash bottles bought in 2012 and both smell gorgeous and the same as a 50ml spray I had two years prior.
Strong floral leather that lasts all day!
Leather, tobacco and vetiver
Beisdes some old mini's it must be Paco Rabanne pour homme 70's 120ml splash formulation with the metal logo on the bottle! Smells still splendid!
Many old threads about this..........
- Patchoili Noir by Il Profvmo +1 for a flowery, very seductive patchouli fragrance
- Patchouli Antique by Nereides +1 for an ambery one
- Etro Patchouly for a more woody one
- Kouros (Fraîcheur) (vintage)
- Dolce & Gabbana ph (vintage)
- Amouage Epic
(- VC & A pour homme)
I do not think he made this up but I do think that YSL should have considered a new name/bottle design instead of another Kouros 'flanker' that is not related to the original.........
I cannot believe they reformulated it again and now for the better (or less worse)?! Glad I am stocked up for life on vintage Kouros (and Fraîcheur).
Maybe so as it has no citrus notes but I only wear it in spring and summer.
Eau de Iles (vintage 90ml bottle) by MPG is an excellent (heavy on longevity and projection) dark roasted coffee scent! (never smelled the reformulation in 100ml bottle but this one is excellent!)
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver for sure +2
- TDH Pure Parfum
- Kiton Men
Heavy citrus scents maybe?
Monsieur de Balmain fits for the weather and will chase mosquitos away (and u will smell good!)
If you like it so much try out Jacques Bogart pour homme (2004)!
(IMO) It is somewhat similar (both are tonka bean bombs) but 1/4 of the price, better smelling (imo), way more masculine, much longer...
I also own current DN (owned the vintage), Caesars and Lomani as well.
Like them all but as others do not wear them that often.
- Bois du Portugal
- Santal Noble
- Eau Sauvage
- Bel Ami
- Armani Eau pour homme
- Guerlain Vetiver
- Givenchy Gentleman
- Givenchy Vetyver
- Versace pour homme
- Thallium Sport
are both pretty similar in smell imo.
- Opium ph edp
- Kouros (vintage)
- Eau Sauvage Parfum
- Joop! Homme
- Lapidus ph
- Giorgio Beverly Hills for men
- Tobacco Vanille
- Epic Man
- 1 Million
Guerlain Homme L'Eau for me!
This or testers!
So now the Homme edt and L'Eau version are officially discontinued. Got one 80 ml of both but will not stock up on them.
I'd say, get the edp version which is way stronger and smells pretty...
Smelled this already long time ago, but was not that fond about it, but it is not a bad frag in its category.
I got the vintage 125ml edt bottle (with the big 'EE' logo instead of the small 'ee' logo on the bottle) and it is excellent and way stronger (especially longer lasting) than the lastest formula I...
Glad I just got a still 90ml full second hand vintage bottle for cheap.
Looks like they reduced costs by adding more citrus (lemon/bergamot) and reducing the myrrh (and vetiver)?! hence more...
Altamir is way more close to Gaultier 2 but less cloying and more orange blossom imo.
Dior Homme but just a little bit.
I agree that Absolute is the best flanker.
32 is also pretty good but is one you have to get used to (imo).
Got at least 1 full bottle back up of the following:
- Dolce & Gabbana ph (vintage; enough for life)
- Cool Water (vintage)
- Santal Noble (vintage)
- Kouros vintage (+ 2 bottles of Fraîcheur)...
This I answered to AromiErotici in a thread he opened in the Powerhouse thread/forum: (5 years later almost, lol)
AromiErotici - 7th February 2009, 03:01 AM
Another Niche power scent....
I should have mentioned..............
I also have Santal Noble in 100ml round glass formulation and that one also has a screw off cap indeed like you say!
But, to complicate things even...
+1 Very similar to MBL imo.
The vintage 90ml bottles have a screw off cap; the current 100ml's don't.
+1 My ranking as well between these three!
? That's not what I get out of my vintage by any means, lol. I also get no tar note but a nice (but very strong) chocolately, patchouli-vanilla combo.
Does the reformulated bottle (black box instead...
+1 I also own the 150ml which is more than half empty already in a 200+ bottle collection (but I am not a '3 spray guy'). I also think the hatred is because it's a very synthetic fragrance, but it...
Yes, still the same scent/fragrance, only new packaging and new bottle lay out: Now it looks like this, but still smells the same to my nose as the vintage version:
+2 Own the vintage which is excellent (in small doses).
Tuscany per Uomo comes pretty close imo but is softer and a bit more formal.
Cuba Black smells also pretty similar but is pretty flat and gives a very generic impression to my nose (hence being...
+1 Get the vintage in the glass brown bottle! Way better than current stuff.............
Make that 'saw dusty sandalwood' imo but a very very good one, though not as good as the vintage with better sandalwood and the coffee note which I adore!
Bogart pour homme (2004)
From my collection: These four I enjoy the most:
- Guerlain Vetiver
- L.T. Piver Vetiver
- Encre Noire
- TF Grey Vetiver
+1 This if you want save juice of your Aventus!
Good for you but I think you are one of the few............
I, myself, also never spray (only) under my shirt.
Van Cleef & Arpels pour homme has no tobacco note to my knowledge, I never smelled it and it is also not in the notes pyramid.
Nor does Bogart pour homme which has an accord that smells like tobacco...
I guess you mean 'Tsar' as VC & A PH is not a pine scent at all.
Vintage Krizia Uomo is a good one!
Interlude as an office fragrance, seriously?:lolk:
+2 Opium pour homme edp
Huge projection and lasts 24 hrs!
Maybe pour homme is also sensitive to skin chemistry?!
On me it works perfect and I got compliments on how good it smelled from a friendly couple, at work from people I did not expect it from and my...
Maybe there is still some useful info in this renewed thread for 'new readers'?! (eg. bluemmb1 who renewed the thread and asked for more info)
I also prefer Esencia over Tsar but besides being...
Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street
For spring and summer: (among many others)
- Declaration Cologne
- Declaration L'Eau
- TDH Eau tres fraiche
- Miyake ph
- Acqua di Parma Colonia
- Bergamotto Marino
+2, Hard to understand this comparison tbh. Completely different fragrances, for different occasions and seasons to me.
Looking at them seperately, I like DH and love TDH.
Own both; PH in current (excellent) and pre-current formulation and Tsar in original vintage and both are very good to say the least.
Vintage Tsar is pretty different compared to current...
