Interesting that Nº5 is missing! This is definitely our most divergent Super Scent yet.

Interesting that Nº5 is missing! This is definitely our most divergent Super Scent yet.
Oooh, aren't we matchy-matchy.
Great list, Grant. I was so tempted to add Fat Electrician to mine!
I believe that they went back to the companies they worked with for each original, so e.g. Mane for Womanity etc. It doesn't specify in the press release though, although it did in earlier material I...
I'd say that Pure Cuir has a little bit more oomph than the Taste of Fragrance version but slightly less so than original. Don't get me wrong, it's strong, but just a touch softer than A*Men.
No problem! The Angel version is really awesome, the only let down is Alien.
My review of all four Les Parfums de Cuir scents:
Womanity is my favourite of the four and Pure Cuir is probably one of my favourite of the 'Pure' editions, along with...
Yup Pure Cuir is £45 for 100ml and the rest are £40 for 30ml.
You can read the full article on my blog here:
I'll have reviews of all four up by the end of the week.
Just to let you know that I've put up a review of both Woman and Man today: http://wp.me/p1ovGs-Wf
Dominique Ropion is the nose
Thanks for the tip off forfreddie, I just snapped up a bottle at £6.99!
I simply have no words to describe the awfulness of that bottle and name.
I think it's the same as the original but has been 'reworked' for mainstream release.
I've always said that the original LPRN (Modele 2 was pants) should have been a mainstream release. I think...
Am I the only one that has tried and liked it so far then? Others who have tried it seem to be less positive.
Thankfully it doesn't :D
The vanilla pod absolute was for the Alien Absolue not Pure Shot. The vanilla in Pure Shot is very smooth but it doesn't have the richness of vanilla pods.
That's the 90ml bottle which you can buy, but is also used a tester bottle.
It seems that way! I just googled the Peppermint Patty and we have something vaguely similar over here and I would say that A*Men Pure Shot doesn't really smell like it. The mint is much fresher, and...
You know how these things go, they say June but they may decide to release it earlier.
The vanilla is quite subtle to be honest, it just gives it a perfectly smooth texture as it dries down....
Here's my review of A*Men Pure Shot
The press release says June and it is going to be a limited edition.
I'll have a review of Pure Shot going up on my blog tommorow morning.
I shouldn't love that bottle but I just can't help it. It's so pretty!
The sillage and longevity aren't that different, it's lighter obviously but it still has some power and lasts just as long.
It's not vastly different from Parfum Initial.
I'm sampling this for the first time and I think it's nice. I own and love Parfum Initial, and this is a lighter, slightly greener and more floral version. The iris isn't as strong as it is in PI but...
Out of all of the ones that I've tried Amaranthine is my favourite, but I also quite like Sartorial, Lily & Spice and Eau Sans Pareil.
Beyond Paradise by Estee Lauder!
I'm accidentally in synch today, wearing Nº5 by Chanel.
I'm intrigued by this one Joe, what's it like? Is it true to its name?
Boudoir EDP 75ml by Vivienne Westwood
La Rose Angel
All four of the 'Le Gout du Parfum' flankers are awesome.
Angel & Alien Liqueur de Parfum
That is one fugly bottle...
This sounds like it will be very illuminating! I have always liked T Wasser but have to say that he came across really well in the Perfume documentary.
A*Men Taste of Fragrance by Thierry Mugler. After Pure Coffee this is...
A 35ml bottle of Angel Le Goût du Parfum to complete my set, I now have all four!
Me too! :D
Alien EDT shares the same spirit as the EDP but it's not so wildly outrageous.
I like the sound of the scent but on Twitter we've decided that the name sounds like the title of a Mills &Boon/Harlequin romance novel about a drag queen that falls in love with a logger named...
Kicking the week off in Violet Blonde by Tom Ford.
Tom Ford Violet Blonde 50ml
Violet Blonde by Tom Ford.
Shalimar Parfum Initial by Guerlain is my big, warm, velvetty comfort blanket today.
I'm a HUGE Paris fan, it is one of my absolute favourite rose perfumes of all time.
To me it's a wonderful rose/violet composition that at first smells like rose/violet petals...
The white floral accord is lush and creamy, it's a really beautiful blend of tuberose, jasmine, gardenia and lily of the valley. There is nothing synthetic or nondescript about it, you have nothing...
White by Tauer for me today.
Despite not using powder, being a boy and all, I really want this, if not for just the bottle. A lot of the makeup blogs I follow on Twitter have reviewed it and have said it smells wonderful (of...
Yet another day in Alien La Gout de Parfum by Mugler today. I literally cannot get enough of this stuff.
Another day in Alien La Gout de Parfum by Mugler
From the Press Release:
The Opulent Odeur of the Femme Totale
Dita Von Teese presents her first perfume, a signature scent, “Dita...
I LOVE Madonna, but I can't help but think she has gone from being a leader to being a follower. She should have done this 10 years ago!
That said, it's a white floral, which is good by me, let's...
Alien The Taste of Fragrance by Thierry Mugler
Alien + Taste Enhancer of Salt Butter Caramel
Back to work I go! Boo!
SOTD is Alien by Mugler.
I REALLY like the sound Romantina! Thanks for sharing Joe.
I tried this the other day, it's a fairly pleasant warm woody/peppery fragrance. I don't get any oud whatsoever.
I found it to be quite linear and it just wasn't captivating enough to be linear. I do have to commend Lutens/Sheldrake for constructing a photorealistic vase of carnations though.
Angel EDT by Mugler.
I think we should all just assume if it's Dior, it's been reformulated.... :P
The new Diesel fragrance Loverdose is a cheap and cheerful blend of liquorice, florals and vanilla. It's certainly worth a try.
Gold Woman by Amouage. I feel like Samantha from Sex and the City when I wear this; brave, sassy, confident and...
It certainly will! I'm gonna wear it today for that exact reasons.
Also what's with Dior? They've literally reformulated and cheapened everything; Homme, Homme Intense, J'Adore, Miss Dior Cherie...
Fleur du Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
Le Male Terrible by Jean Paul...
Shalimar Ode a la Vanille by Guerlain.
I'm definitely a 'yay' with this one. I've been searching for a decent Turkish Delight fragrance for ages, I found the Lutens and Mecheri far too sweet, Traversée du Bosphore hits the nail straight...
This is a major lemming for me, I feel that I cannot live without it. I'm a huge lover of white florals and I knew Amouage would do great things when they decided to create one. Honour Woman has a...
Amaranthine by Penhaligons.
I have found that it has better longevity now that I spray it, it still isn't a loud fragrance. TC has surpassed Carnal Flower as my favourite Tuberose.
Tubéreuse Criminelle by Serge Lutens
Rose 31 by Le Labo for me today.
Stay safe Hurricane Peeps!
The second you said 'bitchy' one fragrance popped straight into my mind; Nº19 by Chanel. It sounds like it would be right up your street.
If you're looking for a floral with vanilla I would...
Today, in a trade, I received:
Putain des Palaces by Etat Libre d'Orange.
Thanks for the congratulations and many thanks for putting up with 2,000 posts worth of my mindless drivel :P
Happy Birthday to Riannon!
Amaranthine of Artemesia are feminine florals that would suit her age.
Thank you Hillaire.
I really do think that Honour Woman is one of the best white florals to be released as of late, it has a wonderful, rich and almost pollen-like nature to it that I really enjoy.
Am I the only one that agrees with his five star reviews for Beyond Paradise, both masculine and feminine?
This is my 2000th post and I am using it to tell you the incredibly surprising fact that today I am wearing:
Parfum Sacré for me today!
I loved the women's - a beautiful white florals, wasn't so keen on the man's - a harsh, dry woody incense. I did a review on my blog a couple of weeks ago.
I MUST get a bottle of Honour Woman.
Towards the end of the month, I believe Boots will have it on 28 August.
I have never tried Boucheron I'm afraid so I cannot comment on the similarity. I would really recommend Elie Saab, it's really nicely done.
Hmmm, Alien is much more tenacious and where it has a sort of 'hyper jasmine', Elie Saab has a honeyed orange blossom. They are slightly similar in the base where they are both warm, woody and golden.
It really is, it's no great shakes but it's another example of how good Kurkdijan is!
Day 4 in Elie Saab Le Parfum for me.
Traversée du Bosphore by L'artisan has leather and iris, it gives the impression of suede.
Morning all, Happy Monday!
I'm being very boring this week, it's another day in Elie Saab Le...
We're scent twins today Donna. What do you think of the Elie Saab? I'm really enjoying it.
That is promising!
Another day in Elie Saab Le Parfum for me.
I'm excited to try this one, I like violet fragrances (especially MyQueen) and I hope this will be better than White Patchouli which I just couldn't get on with.
Rose 31 by Le Labo comes closest with the rose/cumin mix of Kingdom but it replaces the warm creamy sandalwood with a dry, harsh cedar. It would be worth trying to see if you like it.
Today I'm road testing the new Elie Saab Le Parfum. So far, so good.
Rose 31 by Le Labo for me today. Have a great day all!
This week we're discussing 80's fragrances, my top 5 and your favourite scents from the decade:
Now That's What I Call Perfume - The Best of the 80's
Antiheros by Etat Libre d'Orange is an excellent lavender.
I recommend that Teardrop tries Bendelerious by Etat Libre d'Orange.
I am THE Etat Libre d'Orange fanboy.
MyQueen by Alexander McQueen
