I was inspired to write a blog entry on this one. It's my 100th! Click on the link at the bottom of my post.
How do you like it, DarkDreams?
Charming. I love both of these.
exactly replicates daffodils
My favorite is the new one- 'Sunshine' such pretty osmanthus! Really nice but expensive.
Ubar and Gold were lovely, not sure what they're like now.
That was cute, "I'm a ghost"!
So unusual is this. It's sort of powdery and "light blue" in my mind.
Shows monkeys DO know sign language.
I just discovered this sexy tuberose-centric scent. I was sampling and ran across 'Loretta' by Tableau de Parfums. Creamy, dark and rich. A winner!...
Delicious, sadly discontinued tuberose that is of the highest quality.
Sadly, this Jil Sander No.4 is discontinued, but it is the most heavenly tuberose scent!
This is beautiful! Did anyone see 'Nova' about how they repaired the Hubble Telescope? Fascinating!
It's got to be something with fairly long legs. I would give good money to see a hedgehog on a skateboard!
Dog's owner just had a seizure
I can choose from Jill Sander No.4, Cartiér Panthére, Creed- Indiana Tuberose .
Try Un Jardin Sur le Nil for a soft green floral.
For a light, woody floral try this new Diptyque-
I happen to love Jasmal but I just don't reccomend buying blind. None of the others you mentioned do anything for me.
This may sometimes be the case but it's not ideal. You could try it and if you have problems then switch to an alternate method.
Thanks, Kiliwia, she and I are having a blast! Great weather.
Whenever I go outside, my cat, Ruby follows me around. I wonder if she appreciates the flowers. Maybe grass would be just as good. I like to think she gets a kick out of it, though. She's a big...
I like to bring them in and have bouquets inside.
Tulips growing around the roses.
Here's a sweet area of 'Virginia Blubells' and 'Ostrich Fern'.
I barely had room for lilacs but I crammed in these 'Poccahauntus' bushes.
A few more garden pics.
Is this a direct quote? Did someone really use the term 'old lady'? I really hope they would know more descriptive and less derisive terms than that.
The main thing about 'Misia' to my nose is...
I looked at Inle and some of the others and I see I will have to try some more of these. They are good quality and very imaginative!
I just tried Moon Fever and found it very likable indeed. It has all my favorite notes but it reminds me of something else. Can't put my finger on it...I might get it but I just can't justify another...
Nutmeg, is that it? Interesting. This one is so different, I can't say what it reminds me of.
Clementine, Bergamot, Red Berries CO2, Juniper, Spearmint, Blackcurrant Bud CO2,...
Pacifica- French Lilac- available on the Pacifica website and priced extremely reasonably.
Also there is Highland Lilac- which is quite lovely, too.
When you attempt to remove the top, be sure to wear rubber gloves. Also, get a stainless steel bowl to hold the bottle. Then, when it leaks and breaks, all the juice will go into the bowl. You'll...
I'm glad I started this thread. I'm learning about so many new things! The Eau de Campangne has a beautiful dry Iris note. Really special. I wish it had better silage. :-(
They wouldn't make you send it back. All you have to do is send the photos of the damaged bottle to the seller and the seller should fill out a claim form. Or similar. Follow the instructions on the...
I also like the Lily-of-the-Valley very much. It really is amazingly realistic! It is very light, however. I happen to have a wonderful LOV in SMN- Mughetta so I am going to pass on this one.
Lily and Spice (discontinued?) Orange Blossom, Victorian Posy (discontinued?) Ostara (just ordered) Bluebell. Tried Violetta but found it harsh.
Blenheim Bouquet and Hamman Bouquet are excellent...
This is not YOUR fault. Ebay has insurance for this very thing. Get your money back and try again.Send the pictures just as you have done here.
The Different Company- Jasmine De Nuit, Serge Lutens- Ambre Sultan (this is a real cling on!), Guerlain- Samsara
The Different Company- Jasmine de Nuit is very sweet and strong. A modern, floral you might enjoy.
Funny! They have such elegant accents. (I'm not that crazy for 'Twighlight' either.)
Serge Lutens- À La Nuit is my second favorite Jasmine.
Joan Mitchell, 1962, Untitled
Jasmal is my favorite Jasmine, period. You can get samples from Surrender to Chance, The Perfumed Court or The Posh Peasant I should think.
I'd like to try this sometime, even though I don't usually associate Oud with spring flowers. But the lilac sounds intriguing.
I think you will love Ostara. It smells so much like daffodils...
Goodness! That sounds like a lot of work and worry. Well-done, Mumsy! They are beautiful.
That was really funny and cute!
If you are open to wearing green florals, try Esteé Lauder- Azureé. You may have to ask for it. These days it could be under the counter. But the last one I bought was only $49! It is one of a kind...
I was knocked out by the mouse at the end. Those little feet were precious!
These are really wild and scary. I would hate to have this in my backyard!
Charming floral featuring the 'daphne' flower.
I think you are going to like this one. I'm wearing it now. It starts out smelling EXACTLY like daffodils. Then morphs into a somewhat sweeter mode that doesn't dissapoint. Hay-like? Is that what it...
You remind me I've got a great decant of Fleur de Thé and it's been ages since I wore Beige with its eccentric hawthorn note. 'Scuse me while I whip this out!
Once again, you are exactly right. I really don't understand the joy some take in belittling people for being kind.
Beranium Chotato- that's an amazing saga! I'm afraid I would have needed tranquilizers to get through it. I am also fortunate to have a re-issued bottle of Djedi. It's just extraordinary. And has to...
Right now I am trying Mazzolari- Sophia which is a bright orange blossom and Jasmine. Really light and fresh.
http://youtu.be/HvXMVDOhgJ4Cat missed dog so much!
The bottles of Patou came with little silk scarves. Here are two of them.
Invitation is probably the best of the Patous, IMO. I'm glad to see someone else who knows this one. It is a charming floral chypre. Just perfection. I could never find notes on it and bought it...
This is the epitome of Patou floral chypres! Excellent!
Named for the S.S. Normandie this deep chypre has charm and grace.
Named for the S.S. Normandie, this is a charming chypre that has dignity and grace.
You're so right. I enjoy that one very much.
I also forgot to mention my new(er) favorite Profumum Rosa Mundi which is so cheerful. I hope you can all try it sometime.
There was one instance when Tom Ford simply withdrew his copyright permission or contract or whatever the correct term would be, when he pulled his Youth Dew Nude from the Esteé Lauder shelves.
Those described were very 'serious' and arty scents. They sounded generally unpleasant and jarring if not downright confusing. It seems 'beauty' is out of fashion even in the world of fragrance, now,...
Fascinating! Thanks for posting. I could never climb into one of those coffins to smell the scents!
Not sure why this thread is in the archives but you might give it a try.
I don't think so. I will look in my samples. But if I don't have it I will definitely check it out on Luckyscent.
Right now I am trying out a sample of Amouage- Sunshine. It would qualify as a...
Exactly. I will just add that I'm astonished at how much effort has gone into some of these long insulting posts. Get a life, people. Didn't your mother ever teach that if you have nothing positive...
Yes! Especially agree about Aprés L'Ondée. Can't wait to break this one out again. Luckily I still have an older bottle I've been hoarding.
Me, too! I was beginning to panic.
Hi, old buddy! I agree, this one is special and amazingly cold.
I admit I'm not familiar with Lush. I'm intrigued by the Violet! Will give this a try.
I've been waiting anxiously for samples of MAAI to become available on Luckyscent but so far, no luck.
I think Remik is on to something- the Bois des Iles parfum would be even more creamy, less aldehydic. I predict you will love it.
I love both of these. Oddly, my bottle of Wit has gone missing! All Points Bulletin on that one now! I MUST locate it it is gorgeous!
Edit- FOUND IT! I will wear this today. Thanks for the...
Metal- is this the one, by Paco Rabanne? That's great to know. I'll have to try it.
This time of year I'm surrounded by spring scents. I'm enjoying hyacinths from my garden right now. The scent is sweet, strong, waxy and musky. Lilacs are across the room. The closest thing I could...
I remember it. It was truly amazing. He has superb taste. He is always coming up with new and interesting things I would not have known about. Mancera is one. Thanks, Hednic.
Frankly, I don't know what Pigeon Murderer is trying to do here. He has been silent since 2012 and now he comes on here with these snotty remarks. This is MOST inappropriate and completely uncalled...
Thanks, Easykiller. Some people really need to think before they write. I guess they just enjoy pulling the wings off of flies.
Divine- L'Homme De Coeur is a sexy dry Iris
http://www.luckyscent.com/product/22712/l-homme-de-coeur-by-divine. I bought this for my husband to wear but he is in a rut. Loves his Polo.
Hednic, a great friend, a gentleman and a scholar. You are a huge asset to BN. I look forward to your friendly posts. They cheer me daily. Here is a bouquet for you. It smells divine, BTW. Hyacinths...
Here's a piece on Jean Patou. Maybe we could also suggest a substitute for those who don't have him- someone from his era?
You might try Le Labo Santal-
But don't forget about Etro Sandalo, very creamy.
Thanks, but don't feel too guilty. I have resorted to hiring help. I can't do it alone anymore being too frail in the lower back area and frankly sick of weeding and digging. But I sure enjoy the...
Try Etro- Sandalo. My husband likes it and so do I.
Thank-you, KBE. Lordy! That's a major passel of puddies. You must have had to vacuum on a semi-hourly basis! It's so true, cats rule the roost. What is it they say? Dogs have masters but cats have...
Yes, I've had many pets over the years, mostly cats. All so distinctly different from each other. Just like people and snowflakes. That's what makes them so entertaining.
Neither of these cats...
This is the one that jumps on us every morning as soon as the birds start singing. Just like in the 'Simon's cat' cartoon. She is merciless.
I have a big fat gray cat named 'Ray' that is very...
Plus 1 Tom Ford- Grey Vetiver. Also Hermes- Un Jardin sur le Nil or Chanel- 31 Rue Cambon
Ha! You've got that right. She has me wrapped around her little finger. (If she had fingers).
