I second this. :)

I second this. :)
Nautilus Aqua.... if you can find it. This is a recent find. I just tested it. It's a different aquatic/marine scent from the mainstream. The fig note is worth smelling. :)
Let's throw in there some Aquaman... the "swimming pool" aqua scent, at least to me. :)
Aspen Discovery.. for that "Irish Spring" soapy smell.
It's Quorum for me. I've been wearing it since 1st year high. This year i'll be turning 30. :P
I agree... ::)
Yes, indeed. Quorum is the scent that started my passion in perfumery... The nice tobacco leather drydown is the one that gives me the kicks. :)
I agree with you on this one. A man having a different preference in perfume from a more informed basenoter doesn't make him a douchebag. :(
For a limited time, you can get yourself a Lacoste Cool Play for summer. Its a fresh woody spicy scent. ;D
Hehehe... I guess he also needs to impress his would be "father-in-law" and not only the girl. ;D
The Paco Rabanne PH is also a good suggestion.
Quorum... my very first scent. Fell in love with it instantly. I got lots of fond memories with this one when I was in highschool.
If you can't get them all, go for the Quorum.... old style class all the way. ;)
A Spanish girl you say... I say go get a nice Spanish cologne and sweep her off her feet. Try Loewe Solo. And if you can get Puig Quorum, i'll recommend that also but its a bit old school. And of...
I also do think that Paco Rabanne XS is not even a bit citrussy. I would categorize it as a fresh fougere. However, with Lanvin L'Homme, citrus is present as well as lavender and some wood notes so I...
Just store it inside a wardrobe cabinet where its cool and dark. That would do it.
Welcome aboard! .... I hope you have deep pockets.. :P
Hahaha, I know... I own both Gucci Envy and Gucci Pour Homme and they are one of the best fragrances i have. In contrast, I only have Lacoste Booster which i enjoy very much for its minty freshness....
It smells nothing like its Style in Play "Red" counterpart. This one is a different scent altogether IMO.
And the strong incense note is present?[/quote]
The don't detect the incense note though...
... Gucci Pour Homme.
Whoa! This stuff is the fresh version of the Tom Ford Gucci Pour Homme with the same pencil shavings (woody) note. This one is freshened up with citrus notes and coriander...
I thought I was the only one who could appreciate this relatively unknown but wonderful scent. :)
With that said, from what i know there is only one version available for Handsome which is the Eau...
He' s just a figment of your imagination... ;)
Let's see... I think the nearest country from Singapore where a Basenoter lives is the Philippines... and luckily for you I just know that Basenoter personally. I suggest you send them to him as a...
YSL Jazz would fit the bill.
Try Lacoste Booster. Green mint all the way. :)
Im surprised, no one has mentioned Diptyque Philosykos yet...
I got my simple wish list ready for X'MAS!!! ;)
I wore Hugo (a female classmate loved sniffing this on me ;D), Brut Actif Blue, and a scent called Bad Boys.
Yes, Jazz and Tsar are very similar... I have worn Jazz for many years now and it has been one of my top scents to go to whenever i have a hard time picking what to wear due to its versatility. Its...
If you want an old classic and something heady, then you should definitely try QUORUM.
CITRUS WITH TEA IS my cup of tea scent.
concerto by fragonard a great chemistry between citrus and tea
My only scent
My vote goes to Eau de Rochas. If you want citrus with some tea then you should try Philosophy Amen... a clean citrus tea combo that is very underrated.
Yes, indeed. :)
Yes, I definitely agree. I tested Black XS at a department store last night and immediately a blast of fruity notes emerges and lasts for quite some decent time. But Im not yet sure if i like it or...
Must de Cartier L'Essence
I got my 100ml brand new Lanvin L'Homme for around $20 from EBay. It sells around $80 retail in this part of the world... :)
Don't have GIT.... I'll wear Loewe Solo instead.
Hmmm.... the bottle is very similar to JPG Le Male. Is this just a coincidence? ::)
Yup, its very bad indeed. I got to test it at a mall and its just another run of the mill scent created to capitalize on the success of the Hugo Boss sporty fragrances.
Have you tried Hugo Dark Blue? I think it will a good addition to your wardrobe. Not too "young" smelling and not too overwhelming. It has the right balance of modernity and mature character.
Any scent that makes the opposite sex take off their underwear. ::)
They say that CK Obsession has a very interesting effect on cats. :o Check out the reviews.
Here at the Far East... Philippines to be exact.
Benetton Cold for a hot sunny day. :D
Adolfo Dominguez Alegria Para Hombre
Kenzo "Time for Peace" ;D
Yup, Rochas Man for me too. A smoother choco-vanilla blend.
I agree with you on those ones
Me too! Think about CK Eternity....
For me it depends on the person asking. If the person is the type who is also interested in fragrances, then I would tell and even mention from which house it came from. If he/she is just asking...
I saw the Agua Brava and Agua Brava Sea Power bottles in there. Perhaps you could make me a Quorum bottle, if its not much trouble. Thanks!
They make the Rectoverso line, which if im not mistaken has some fans here in Basenotes. I personally have their Tom Prune Coral Island which i find very nice for the cheap price.
From what i know in my highschool chemistry, ozone, although helps us in filtering UV rays on the atmosphere, is a very dangerous gas. If you were to inhale it, it may have a very unpleasant effect...
Gucci Envy on a rainy day. ::)
WOW!!! Some pretty cool stuff we got in here Grant! Nice job!!! :D
Loewe Solo from a sample... and loving it. :)
How about Halston Catalyst with its nice "chemistry" bottle....
wow thread still goin. :P
speaking only for myself, this would not cause me to leave. otherwise i would have left a long time ago. in fact, a couple years ago i would have caused myself to leave,...
Now, this is the best post I've read so far! :)
Why do we make things more complicated that it is? He was merely asking for some preferences of gay people... if it does exist. He himself mentioned his fav scents and of course any non gay person...
Yeah, I think a lot of the posts in this thread are really overreacting.
I think so too...
He was just asking an honest question that needs straight answers. Maybe he was trying...
I honestly think that you won't really have a need for the Intense version of Rochas Man. The original Rochas Man is fine as it is, already a strong, long lasting gourmand scent. I find it very hard...
My GF and I wears Agua de Loewe, a fresh citrus scent with green tea notes and a smooth sandalwood base. Perfect for everyday wearing.
My recently acquired Lanvin L'Homme at a bargain price...
My GF loves Lacoste Booster on me. But basically she likes all the fragrances that i wear. Once i tested Le Male at a department store and when she got a sniff of it, she reacted very negatively....
I had tested Dunhill Desire in the past and when I recently acquired Sculpture, it reminded me greatly of this scent from Dunhill.
YSL Live Jazz. Very good minty freshness.
If i remember it right, I was searching for a review of my beloved Quorum and that lead me to all these madness. :)
Ditto with Gucci Envy....
I must also add Must de Cartier L'Essence Pour Homme.
Wow... Its good to know that you are having the right chemistry with your Quorum. Like Steve said, there are many Quorum haters here, but same as him, I really don't see any good reason for this...
From what i have in my wardrobe, I think Paco Rabanne PH is soapy.
It would be respectful for the other members of the board if we all could write our posts in english so that they would understand it even if you address your posts to other Filipino...
It really seems that your passion for perfume goes way back. Well, I guess now we Filipinos know whom to ask when it comes to appreciating classic scents here . I would love to see for...
Thanks Roberto for that info. I guess i'll have to check out that place sometime.
Her bidshot name is "Jinggoy" but i doubt it if she still has bottle of Lanvin. She said some friend just asked her to sell it for her. So I think she only had one bottle of Lanvin L'Homme and I...
Try to go to bidshot.com. It's a Philippine bidding website. You'll find lots of bargains in there. You have to register of course. :)
Where did you get that notion that Creed fragrances can be bought cheap. As a matter of fact, they are one of the most expensive scents out there. They are "niche" scents in that they are not widely...
Yest there are Creed fragrances available in the Philippines. Although I think it the price for a 100ml bottle would cost around PhP 5,000 ($100). You can find them within the gray market. Fragrance...
Hi Doc Jason,
Polo Blue sells for around Php4200 at malls and Dunhill Desire Blue at around Php3500.
There is Silver Mountain Water sold here in Manila but it in the gray market. Please refer...
Although I love Quorum, I think Azzaro is much easier to handle... a more versatile scent. Both are classics. If you can have your way, go get them both. They are both worth owning IMHO.
Yes! You're the one I was thinking of. I remember you recommended one of the Lacoste scents for hot weather and I made a note to seek it out for testing as it isn't exactly as ubiquitous as, say,...
Ah yes, Milamber's Laguna... :) I'm also curious to know how this smells, but unfortunately I can't find it here in the Philippines. I have tested Dali's Le Roy Soleil and I find it very good for hot...
Well it seems you are quite new here, so I would just like to welcome you to Basenotes. Enjoy your stay here. :)
If your preference is for the aquatic scents and you are...
Hi there Doc Jason!
Well, it seems Buzzcut was refering to me.... I do live in Makati. :) I've been a member of basenotes for quite sometime now and have contributed a number of posts.
Certainly, Quorum is not a scent for all. Its a dry, herbal, spicy, leather and tobacco scent. By this description alone, you would tell that it would be very difficult for an "average" guy to be...
aahaha what happen with your nose ????????
i recognize that adidas fragances and deo. too.. nice smell ..
but tell that is almost the same with CHIC.. !! nooo... !
How about Amen by Philosophy... a nice citrus and tea scent, very crisp and clean.
Or you can try their Pure Grace... smells similar to Gendarme. I think they renamed it to "Soap and Water".
The Samba line of fragrances although inexpensive, are good quality scents. They are well made and indeed have lasting power. I gave a Samba French Kiss as a gift to my girlfriend and she loved it....
I definitely agree with K. They are very different from each other. Live Jazz is ideal for a casual day out. Great for summer days and nights. Jazz however, is a classic 80's fougere, fresh and a bit...
Yes i agree with K here. Go give him Puig Quorum. A perfect fit for the description you've given. Its a nice blend of spices and tobacco with a formal aura. And you get to save a lot of bucks and buy...
Whoaaa.... Quorum Silver??? I have never heard of this one before.
I have been a Quorum lover ever since i first used it in highschool. But i must admit, I don't enjoy it that much anymore......
Go ahead and wear it. Don't mind the "age-specific" concerns. You shouldn't be bothered. I wore Quorum when i was 15 yrs. old. It was such a joy to wear during that time. Although I think Puig...
I'm looking forward in acquiring this one. I have the original XS and its a wonderful all around scent IMHO.
Must de Cartier L'Essence has the best cinnamon note, IMHO.
From the Philippines, here! I share your sentiments with regards to the availability (or lack thereof) of most recent launches in the perfume industry. But it seems, some old and hard to find...
Maybe Vetiver de Puig.
I would really suggest for you trying Eau de Rochas Homme. Its a clean, crisp and refreshing citrus with an elegant touch.
Must de Cartier L'Essence version
