Mitchum Clinical Strength Greenwood
Wear it more often. Might take your nose some time to register it. This has happened to me with a few scents. I smell it all day.
Yes, happens to me as well.
Try Live Jazz from YSL.
Past few years it has been Burberry London. This year will be Creed Royal Oud.
Another vote for Fahrenheit Absolute. The opening might scare you off (a bit harsh) but that doesn't last long.. what you are left with is a very dark and seductive masterpiece in my opinion.
If you do not like 1 million, you will not like this. It is toned down and more leathery than 1 million, but the similarity is too strong.
Never thought I would like a Rose scent, but I have grown to love Windsor.
Silver for sure. Where from?
Well I went with Aventus. I was leaning toward Royal Oud, but I went with the consensus here. It was still pretty warm today, and I think I (we) made the right decision. I guess I am getting...
I am also the godfather as well. What do you think? I have narrowed it down to those two for tomorrow.
What do my BN bretheren say?
So would a bottle from July 2011 be the reformulated version then?
Comme des Garcons Wonderwood
Thank you! I guess I won't be getting my hands on this one. I did some research on it and it doesn't look promising.
Can I assume my bottle from February 2011 has the silver collar and tube?
I guess this means the Big Pony line of fragrances sold really well? Weird, because I don't think I see them at Macy's anymore.
How come I never get that lucky?! Nice find! Seller have anymore?
I would like to actually try the new formula. I just got a delivery from Sephora and it is from February 2011.
No, you should get it if you are a "beauty insider" member I believe.
Say I purchased something today online. Would they honor the coupon if I went to the store, returned it, then re-purchased?
He Wood Silver Wind Wood (my own little secret)
L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme
Guerlain Homme Intense
Bond No.9 New Haarlem
Rochas Man Intense
La Nuit De L'Homme...
Is the way you can tell it is the new formulation by the black tube?
I agree with this too.
Gucci Pour Homme I
I hope you like lemon scents!
Return the Creed and get a new keyboard!
If the collar is black, send it back. If it's silver, bring it hither.
I agree with this 100 % and was going to make a post similar to this. The black collars smell different than the silver collars. Pre or post reformulation date.
Very clever marketing strategy...
Harsh man, harsh.
Sexual Fresh smells exactly like Chrome.
I am getting a Fahrenheit type of vibe (but a little different) from this one. I can't believe it is getting panned the way it is. I like it.
It's like Fahrenheit and L'Homme had a baby. ...
Chaps by Ralph Lauren
Where are these available?!?!
I want to sample Chili, and I definitely want that Caramel Alien for my lady.
I would find it hard to believe that online retailer would receive the new stock this early though.
I think this is going to be my next one too. I fell in love with it after testing from a few samples.
I have found that most Armani fragrances suffer from poor shelf life. Some of them really go rancid.
I think that is going to be my next Creed. Did you buy new? I hear the recent bottles aren't quite as good. Let me know.
Both. There is only a very SLIGHT difference between the brown leather wrapped one and the gray one. The brown is a tad more floral, with the gray one being a tad more fresh. My opinion of course....
Where did you get a sample Gary?
I love them both. The original is for fall/winter and the special edition is more for the spring/summer. My vote is for the original, because it is a great holiday season scent.
Sorry I haven't responded. I'm not sure if I want to open it.
It is definitely the same scent.
The body wash is fantastic. Lathers up well and lasts a good while for a body wash.
Exactly what I was going to suggest as well. These types of threads would fit nicely in the swap forums. Perhaps stickied?
Couldn't help it. The notes sound scrumptious.
Does anyone know when these will be available in the states? Thanks.
The notes on this one sound much better than the "for him" version. Were you able to sample the "for him" as well? Thanks.
I am one of the few that does not equate a scent with age. I feel I can wear any scent that is to my liking.
I wasn't implying that I thought it smelled like pickle juice. I was just agreeing that I don't really like the opening either.
I agree. It actually smells very good....just because it isn't anything new, it is considered rubbish?
You have voyage and St. Barts mixed up in your descriptions. St. Barts is similar to VIW.
Agreed. Good thing I received enough samples of it that I don't even have to buy a bottle right away.
I agree, but that is just the top notes. Seems like you don't let scents drydown, and base your opinions (like most Basenoters) on the opening only.
Yes, I own it. Lasts a few hours. I tend to overuse because it lathers up very well. Does not dry out my skin, however it is still warm out. That would probably change come winter. Same scent...
Good choice. I am still banging my head against the wall for swapping it away. Although I still own Summer Night and it is quite similar.
Seriously 80%? Since when?
I love the juice no matter what anyone says.
I'm a sucker for any derivative of L'Homme. I will probably wind up getting the shower gel and aftershave balm too. Can't wait.
Creed's Royal Oud will be my go to scent this fall.
Where are you guys sniffing this out?
Come on. Just admit that you work for Calvin Klein.
I will let you know when I pick up mine tomorrow.
100 really good ones.
Of course there are some excellent ones on there.
Great news stu. Thanks!
Agreed. Very satified with it. Smells great, although longevity is a little suspect.
Yes it is.
Mine too
Yup that's it. I guess they heard the complaints that the Bvlgari name was overstated on the original bottle and addressed it.
Any updates on this one?
No offense Rosehavn, but he said he disliked Bvlgari Black. I doubt he would like this one then.
I think you would get the most pleasure from Creed's Aventus and MI from your list.
My creedo as well Gary. I'm probably the only one on the board who appreciates Armani Code Sport.
I bought a bottle of this. It is a very nice fall/winter scent. Too bad they couldn't have put a little more effort into the bottle design.
I just rediscovered this one after wearing it often in the 90's. While everyone was wearing Joop! Homme, I was wearing Nightflight.
I guess I was lucky to score a 4.2oz...
Agreed. For the same reason Buysblind mentioned. Otherwise, bring an unscented insect repellent.
I passed by Bloomingdales earlier today to seek this one out. I did not see the bottle, but I did see the packaging. The SA said it was the same juice.
I actually own and like both. Just different is spicy and dark, while Aqua Fahrenheit is very sharp and citrusy. Pick your poison.
I just picked this up as well. I am going to give it my first full wearing tomorrow. Very casual but nice scent.
Any possibility of a White Flowers split? I would like to get some for my lady.
No. But on the same token, I haven't smelled the one you mentioned. This will be a workhorse scent for come fall. It's very nice.
This post would fit nice nicely into the "You know you're a Basenoter when..." thread.
I agree with this assessment. If this were a linear scent based on the top notes, they would have a winner. The drydown is somewhat similar to the original Hugo, but darker. Not sure how I feel...
No longevity issues with me either.
Sorry, couldn't help it. Just what I thought of when I read the title.
Went a little nuts today, being that work has been very rough the past few weeks. I decided to really treat myself and hope to get some calming fall/winter wear out of the following:
Oh c'mon ducky...surely you jest.
I don't know where you come off saying my own opinion and nose is somehow wrong. I would understand if I were the only one "ignorantly spouting off" (to use your terminology) but if you followed...
Forget everything else. Concentrate on the not smoking part. I have been battling this nasty habit for a long time now. It is like night and day when your senses come back when taking a break from...
I agree to an extent. I think this was made (being that it is an EDC) to use in the really hot weather, where the original could get a bit cloying.
Fleurine: I choose Chloé for you tomorrow. I received an insert for this in my Macy's circular and I didn't get a chance to sniff it.
Mostly by the four seasons.
Picked this up today, and it is in fact an EDC. For those wondering.
Can anyone who has this already, let me know what the longevity is like for you? Tested this today along with Original Cologne and suprisingly liked Royal Oud a little better. Thanks everyone.
