Re: Best of my five tobacco scents

Czech and speake cuba is worth adding to the list, imo. A dry tobacco not sweet but sharp and musty like a humidoor... Goodstuff

    Re: help find a rose

The problem I have with most rose frags is that, if they aren't sweet, they come off as dusty. Often, rose seems to be paired with a lot of patchouli to overcome this but what I smelled today made me...

    Re: help find a rose

voleur de roses is more of a patchouli frag to my nose. I would like a frag that has only a touch of patchouli, just for the rich earthy vibe.

From the description, I don't think I'm looking for...

    help find a rose

I was riding my bike today when I rode past a bunch of rose bushes while crossing a river. I could smell the roses and some cut grass and I had an idea of a perfume that I want.

    It has a dry rose...

  11. Re: projection and longeivity like paco's 1million.

does it have to smell as bad, too? ;) Kidding, kidding.

I guess the fragrances that I know best that have good projection and longevity are Dior Homme and bvlgari black. There are others that last...

Layering advice : Cool Water & Premier Figuier

One spray of cool water and one spray of l'Artisan Parfumeur's premier figuier. The idea was somewhat inspired by mugler's most recent: womanity. However, this is much greener. Less sweet, fresher...

Re: Best fragrance to wear with a suit ?

Whatever smells best that day. Today for me it would be yohji homme. Another day, dior homme... Then encre noir, then timbuktu, then opus 1870... Fragrances are like suits: if you feel confortable...

Re: Looking for something spicey, woodsey, peppery

Timbuktu by L'Artisan Parfumeur is my favourite of everything I know of that fits the description. Smokey incency, peppery spicey, beautiful.

    Re: Jasmine for Men

I like Jo Malone's White Jasmin and Mint. It's a very dry Jasmin and works well on me. Some don't like the herbal mint blast but I think it's worth a sniff anyway.
