    Vetivers work pretty much all the time, I find. I can't think of any occasion at which Roja's Vetiver Extrait wouldn't fit beautifully. Houbigant's Fougere Royale in another excellent all-rounder.

    Kouros. The current formulation is very nice. Yes, there's an astringent 'industrial cleaner' accord at the top, but that dissipates quickly, and the scent becomes a beautiful musky floral.

    I've tried several and really enjoy (and own) two of them: Shams Oud (peppery & resinous charred woods) and Irish Leather (dry, herbal iris and leather) - both with excellent longevity.
