I'd be curious to try this as well even if sadly the nose sounds not promising to me (not a fan of him...).
Pardon? You decide what there is room for on a public forum? That is my opinion which is as much legitimate as yours. There is no place for your attitude instead - you're really not entitled to take...
No offense for other equally great posters & looks, but just to pick "one and one" to (unrequested) comment: as if reviews weren't enough awesomeness coming from her and with all respects to her...
No jokes are ever inappropriate as that is the inner nature of jokes. It did not offend me at all. I believe joking and comedy are a field which is (and must be) completely free from any concern...
Gucci pour Homme.
Vintage Tiffany for Men (that is seller's pic).
Nice selection! Except a couple I don't know (Fumidus, Khol de Bahrein, 2022) the others are almost all quite good and some even great.
The best ones there are imho Russian Tea (the best of Masque...
Not sure if my nose is f*cked but I just applied a couple of sprays of Corteccia by L'Erbolario (20 EUR for 100 ml) and - bam! at the opening it smells so similar to vintage Cuiron. The notes listed...
Cuoio Tartaro (Tartar Leather) by La via del profumo.
Either don't test in stores or consider that only a generic and not-that-trustworthy test (don't rely on paper strips, also). My advice would be to do what you want to avoid to do - seeking samples....
Tauer personally told me one of his favourite scents is Palisander by Comme des Garçons.
I do that already quite often - Mitsouko, Habanita, Bal à Versailles and Bois des Iles are some of my favourite fragrances. Whenever I do it, I never notice any "weird" look, but once a weird thing...
Tabacco Toscano again - quite digging it lately, perfect for this late-autumn sunny (but chilly) days.
Totally agree too!
Bump - a couple of scents gone, a couple added.
Aventus, Bleu de Chanel, Thierry Mugler's stuff.
Speaking of "mediocre" scents, then... :D
If you like Bois d'ascèse and similar scents you'll surely like it. Personally I totally love it (see my signature below... :D), I find it creative, refined and versatile - probably one of the best...
Donna Karan Black Cashmere, Slumberhouse Zahd, Norma Kamali Incense.
My SOTE is Tabacco Toscano. So good!
I've just turned 30 a couple of months ago.
The 2 times in my life someone asked me, I did tell it.
Jaipur Homme EDT today.
This kind of threads always looks to me like looking for a needle in the ocean. There was dozens, if not hundreds of scents back then, at various degrees of quality and availability, which were all...
Of course they are. Like any object on Earth, as long as they are objects with material features, this logically mean there is room for an objective discourse about them. Then, you may also tell...
Largely imagined imho.
If it's pure hoarding, then no, I've no interest in it. I'd do that if I liked all the fragrances in such line, as I only buy the scents I like, but until now it did not happen yet (to me, to like an...
LOL, I did not want to say that but I agree. I wonder if they'll invade the Female section as well one day.
This quite "grew" on me, at first I only found it nice, now I completely love it and happily own a couple of backups. It's so sharp and classy yet woodier than wood. A bit linear but I can't get...
M7 does not smell like a classic powerhouse.
I would mention the two fragrances by Bogue (MAAI and Cologne Reloaded), then Mazzolari Lui, Jovoy L'art de la Guerre (except the rhubarb), Roja Dove...
I find Borneo one of greatest perfumes of the last years, why do you call it "unwearable"? It's so warm and classy.
I tested them all and they all pretty much disappointed me considering the (considerably much higher) quality of the rest of her line. Syconium is the nicest of them all in my opinion (but just a tad...
+1 - whoever Jeremy is (don't really want to know).
That's a great one!
Costume National 21
Costume National Scent Intense
Jil Sander Man
Donna Karan Black Cashmere
Norma Kamali Incense
My girlfriend does not like most of my scents, ranging from "meh!" to "gross".
I obviously do not care.
That is not the parameter to differentiate niche from designer. Clive Christian makes also cutlery sets and household stuff. By Kilian makes braceletes. Pretty much anyone makes candles and house...
+ 1 (at least let's hope that)
In my top 10 masculine fragrances ever. Pure golden powder. It's exotic, refined, dandy, an unusual take on manliness, plus it smells so gorgeous and clean. By the way I took it with me last summer...
Just came in to suggest Russian Tea as well (but also Parfum d'Empire Ambre russe had something smelling a bit like tea to me).
I wore Yohji Homme vintage this morning, now it's almost gone and I applied some of this for the late afternoon, and surprisingly it's like if it "retrieved" a part of the notes of Yohji marvelously...
I second almost all the suggestions above. To throw in another name: the new scent by Masque (Russian Tea), which is really good, has a prominent mint note.
Yohji Homme vintage (currently using the one on the right).
Tabac Aurea by Sonoma Scent Studio:
and Tabacco Toscano by Officina Santa Maria Novella.
+ 1 (you two - badarun and mdclx - have two of the most enviable vintage collections here!)
Naomi Goodsir's Bois d'ascèse.
Can't think of anything sweeter than this, thank you guys and thanks to my good friend Arun! (you've just earned a free bonus shipping for this, ahah)
I didn't even think someone would have noticed...
A back-up bottle of Jil Sander Man, a great steal by total chance.
Actually that sounds like the perfect description of vintage Cuiron as well.
And that also puts Geo Trumper, Creed and stuff out of discussion, as no vintages (well, not that vintage as the OP wishes) exist for those brands, being them quite more recent than they...
While in certain circumstances I appreciate stealing and robberies as proletarian or revolutionary acts, a single individual stealing luxury goods perfumes for the sole sake of possessing them* makes...
Mouchoir de Monsieur.
MPeG's Santal Noble.
Lol, you reminded me of:
Vintage Yohji Homme had a nice licorice note.
The almighty Montana Parfum d'Homme (vtg) for the evening.
I was looking to test this too, I know the rest of their line and for some reasons I respect it - they're unpretentious yet nice and decently-priced. What does it smell like?
Designer fans will tell you niche means pretentious pricey elitist stuff, which legitimates itself exclusively basing on its own cost, and that often smells like their designer stuff which can be...
+1 - or Bois d'ascèse too.
Don't waste time with Black Saffron, it smells no saffron at all. However several scents contain this note but personally I can't think of any which features it among the prominent ones.
Unworth any attention.
By miles number one. Bal à Versailles is an incredible beauty and so is Moschino, and then there's Ungaro too... no way, a killer combo for sure. Moschino and Bal à Versailles alone would be already...
Shekih A.S.A.Q. Blend - I did not plan to use it as SOTD but a few drops on my wrists turned out to be more than enough.
I remember Cuiron good enough to compare it with the new one once I'll get the sample, although I am given to understand it's already clear it is different.
Pathétique by O'Driù again. Really diggin' it!
The fact that they've been reformulated by Françoise Caron and Roucel sounds much unpromising to me.
Basing on deadidol's words Cuiron seems quite different from the original!
Tiziana Terenzi Gold Rose Oudh, Rosam by Histoires de Parfums, or if you want to go vintage, the almighty Ténéré by Paco Rabanne.
There is many websites that sell samples, it's a good start (you can find dozens of threads about the matter or simple google them). Or eBay too. Then you can start to swap them, which is the best...
I agree, that "smells like" feature is hilarious most of the times. But I won't go too far with plots & manipulation hypothesis - just probably most of users are clueless about perfumes and tend to...
Banned materials? All three scents were the epiphany of synthetic perfumery! :D Plus none has banned anything since 20 years...
Well we haven't tried the reissue yet, perhaps it is worse than the original - in that case it may still have sense to look for the "original grail" (pretty much like for Yohji Homme for example)....
Can't wait for it to land in Europe, it's finally a dream coming true - hoping they did not mess up with the scents (but "I want to believe").
The nicest for me are Tango and the new one - Russian Tea.
Honestly I don't, I find it radiantly irresistible. Actually the first minutes are the best part of it for me.
Moving them so I took a picture, there are three new coming in (Helmult Lang EDC, Donna Karan Black Cashmere, Jil Sander Man). For the moment this is what I got (with some decants), my remaining...
LOL. Either that or M7.
Don't waste time looking for alternatives, if it's the first EDC you're missing you'll find nothing not even a bit similar to it. Just look for that on eBay or old perfume shops. I had a bottle for a...
I personally like this one a lot. It has something just irresistible to my nose, and it's quite an interesting twist in Angelo's creative path (review will follow shortly).
I don't get the authority of Roja Dove about the matter. I mean, no offense, but...
