.... or reformulated to resemble them. *cough* Freshman *cough*.
Never. At least until Thunderdome rules happen.
"Two colognes enter, one leaves."
Even then the corpse of the other would continue to be kicked for some time come.
Their latest offering in Allure Edition Blanche, it is not for me though.
Platinum Egoiste all the way!
Darth Tweed: There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you.
Darth Tweed: Cool, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will...
I like Rainbath as well, it does not smell flowery, sweet, or soapy like most others body washes. Also compared to Dial men's body wash it does not have that film that seems to linger on the skin.
I would never own a Rolex just because everybody would think it is a knock off regardless if it is was real. The name is spoiled now due to the street knock offs.
Some others I own.
It's too bad Creed does not offer other scents, that way there is plenty of room for a Cool Water'esqe offering without hindering the success of the name Creed.
Platinum Egoiste is my favorite as well. The original Egoiste is nice also but completely different from Platinum, in fact I really don't know why they even share the same name.
I like the scent of Code much better than Allure, however the longevity of Code is pretty short compared to Allure.
Personally I would choose Millesime Imperial, I did not care for the inkjet toner note in SMW, it really threw the entire scent off for me.
1: Chanel Platinum Egoiste
2: D&G By Man (discontinued)
3: Bvlgari Avqa
4: Tommy Bahama
5: Polo Double Black
1: Creed Erolfa
2: Truefitt & Hill Freshman
When it comes to Creed I really like Erolfa and Himalaya the most, all others really did nothing for me. GIT was ok but I preferred Freshman from Truefitt & Hill more at 1/3rd the price. SMW really...
I have a lot of respect for what Sean Combs has accomplished even if I don't care for the person, his tastes, or his music. Coming up from a poor family into a self made millionaire is an impressive...
The most powerful of your 5 senses is the sense of smell. It has the ability to stir emotions, bring up memories, and put people in relaxing states and vise versa.
I wear cologne mainly as a tool...
I was thinking Metallica's King Nothing.
100 million in it's first year? Plus a Macy's exclusive for the first 3 months including the holiday season? I am no business mogul but I recognize unrealistic benchmarks for a new product.
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Black does not smell anything like MI.
It is strong enough to be a year rounder but the notes are summery being they are heavy on the coconut and rum. It's not the best winter scent but I would...
While the base is similar, Black has a lot more going on overall. Black was a limited release for the summer, now that summer is winding down I suspect that is why you are having a hard time finding...
A lighter Polo? Polo is the anti-light king! Seems like a contradiction.
I like the original and intensia, probably with a slight edge to intensia. I did not like assoluta.
If you have Cool Water you don't need.....
Cool Water Deep
Cool Water Deep Summer Fizz
Cool Water Deep Sun, Sea and Surf
Cool Water Frozen
Cool Water Freeze Me
Cool Water Game
Aqua Di Parma, a nice lemon and rose fragrance. About 4-6 hours of scent life if applied generously.
If I had to choose I would choose Blanche, but honestly I am not much of a fan of either. With Allure I got a strong whiff of an ashtray like smell in the drydown which I hated, that note is not in...
Hugo, I have no idea. The last bottle I bought was back in 03 and it was fine. So sometime between late 03 and now. There is no definitive evidence a reformulation has taken place past my opinion of...
I took it back alright, their tester bottle was the same thing as my bottle. The lady at the counter said I am not first to complain that it is not the same. She guessed that somewhere with...
I will take it back, thanks for the help guys.
I must say I am disappointed overall. While the top notes still resemble Cool Water it fades quickly into a sweet oily concoction that is nothing...
It is original Cool Water and a new bottle from Macy's. It has the new text on the front of the bottle.
Hello all, I bought a new bought of Cool Water last week for old times sake last week since I used to love it and wear it all the time. However I have been using it now for the past week and it is...
The longevity with TB is really very good, it is just one of those fragrances where you can't smell it after so long but everyone else can.
We have a winner!
Is this a body spray or another EDT like Axe Lab?
I was at Walgreens today and looked at some of the fragrances, their prices were not any better than the department stores. There were one or two on sale but they were bad ones like Antonio Banderas...
Yep, another new Cool Water with another dumb name. I saw it at Walgreens this afternoon. I gave it a try and it is very close to the original but more water downed and less longevity. The bottle...
Just based on TF's sleezy advertising I thought of his role of Dr. Troy.
Tried it, it did nothing for me. I liked the original better actually but neither made me want to purchase.
Yes there are a lot of perfumes and colognes that use "Black" and "White" in their names, however to my knowledge few will use both black and white as an offshoot of the same scent. The only one that...
Other than the vanilla notes in the base of each I don't notice anything in common.
I take Dr. Troy for a Tom Ford for Him kind of guy.
Polo Double Black.
It's not PC to call lines in your catalog "White" and "Black," hence why they dropped black off the name of Code.
It would have to be called Armani Code Blanche or something like that to pass the...
Earlier in the summer I went to the mall to try it and possibly buy it along with a few others, being I live in the country the nearest major mall is 40 miles away, of course none of the stores had...
I cannot comment on it's longevity but I was surprised by this scent, I thought it was very nice. Probably the best scent to come out of Davidoff in a decade. I am just glad they did not call it...
D&G By Man
While still available in small quantities on Ebay no way am I paying Creed like prices.
I see them at Wal-Mart, Target, etc... as well.
I like it, it is not bad for a cheapie but it is not very good in the silage or longevity department. As for the notes the most I can find is "A blend of warm spices and fresh woods." I would add...
In my experience the "alternatives" like these that copy originals may smell somewhat similar to the fragrance for the first 20-30 minutes, thereafter they usually become a pretty rancid with hints...
Subtle scents are not very good in a smokey, dingy, strip club. Neither are tobacco and leather scents. Also I would stay away from orientals as most are subtle and the vanilla in them tends to blend...
It's like Irish Spring soap but with less longevity.
Anything Creed, except one time I was wearing GIT and a lady friend complimented me on my Cool Water.
The original version I pulled off a solid 4 hours of scent life, all of it useful scent life. That is average in today's world it seems.
Black pulled off 6 hours of useful scent life, it also...
I tried this as well, smells very nice and sparkly as intended. I caught a mirage of citrus with a gentle woody background, very nice and well done.
I am doing a card test right now, I can definitely say it is longer than the regular version. Stand by....
I just got samples in from Three Kings for Unforgivable, Unforgivable Black, and Unforgivable Multi-Platinum, along with some others. Overall the Unforgivable line is pretty nice for a celebrity...
No, just that I smell nice. At least with Erolfa and MI. I am not a huge fan of SMW. I found a couple more is usually in order with most Creed's being they hang so close to the skin, I did not find...
Creed Erolfa by far, everything else has a dirty oceanic vibe to it. My second choice would be Bulgari Aqua, followed by Acqua Di Gio.
I usually spray 6 so I don't find 4 too much (4 to the neck front, back, sides, 2 to the chest). Did you just spray it when he made that comment?
Tom Ford for him.
When you buy a new bottle of something you have to pump the sprayer a few times before the juice reaches the sprayer and it is able to spray.
If you have to prime it then you have a genuine brand...
Acqua Di Gio
Issey Miyaki Intense
BDP - Probably the best of the bunch, but not something that wears well without a suit or tux.
Acier - Creed's answer for an oriental, I did not like it and thought it smelled odd.
Himalaya - One...
I think a better question is what did Billy Bob wear to seduce her years ago?
I can comment on your Armani's and say I like Acqua Di Gio and Code as well. My only complaint on ADG is just the commonality of it, it has a nick name here of being "Acqua Di Conformity" because it...
I am happy, but I was happier with Scentiments. The missing lot numbers makes me feel like something is shady but the juice is legit.
It just arrived today, first thing I noticed is the lot #'s were gone. The bottle is the new clear style however it had been sprayed before because it did not need to be primed. The juice smells good...
Creed Erolfa is the sweetest and smoothest marine aquatic I have run across, there is nothing else like it. I have been wearing it daily for the last 3 months, I love it. Elegant aquatic is the best...
You can't get London and L'Homme to last???
I have to take 3 showers, soak in kerosene, and preform a ritual sacrifice of a chicken to get those off me.
If you want something ladies love, lasts a long time and still comes in at a reasonable price check out...
Acqua Di Gio - One caveat, everyone wears it on campus. Maybe not everyone but it will...
I agree about Reaction, about the only "reaction" you will have is your disgust of having to reapply it every couple of hours. Once the nice fruit top notes wear off inside the first hour you are...
Thank you, thank you!
I choose Himalaya by a mile. SMW is a little too feminine for me and those ink and black currant notes really sour the cologne in the dry down.
Acqua Di Parma
Neither is Acier Aluminum, Millsemie Imperial, or Himalaya. Erolfa and Silver Mountain Water are debatable as well.
Creed makes a lot of scents to span the market from young, to young at heart, to...
Do you enjoy city nightlife where you are likely to run into young college kids who are all wearing ADG? If not I don't think you will understand.
I do love Acqua Di Gio, not only do I like the scent on me but so does everyone else. The problem is I am 30, every high school and college kid wears it more and more and I just don't want to be the...
This whole suede thing as gotten out of hand.
Suede is not a scent, it is a material. It does not give off pleasant odors like fine leather.
Axe is a body spray, body wash, deodorant line here in America. They are more well known outside of the USA as Lynx however.
The marketing for Axe is pretty sleezy and cheap here in the states, it...
The 90's are now old school? Gen X forever!!!!!
Now with that out of the way, what are you looking to accomplish? Do you want to just fit in with everyone else and wear what they do? Or do you...
Up until several years ago I always just had one signature scent, Cool Water as a matter of fact. Then one day I realized I have outgrown CW and my age was just not appropriate anymore as somewhere...
Here is a better one.
One Man Show.
I don't think Original Santal was made for Grandpa, unless this is he....
My experience with Varvatos was at a department store last week, in between what I asked for she kept throwing tester strips under my nose (I love that *groan*) and she put Varvatos on one and I said...
Very few Creed's make me want to jump through all the hoops to begin with. Then there is always "is it legit" question if you buy from anyone but a authorized dealer (perfumerammy, Neiman...
VIW is nice but very unoriginal and very uncreed. I still prefer Erolfa to it.
Count me on that opinion as well, I thought Vintage was much nicer than the original.
Creed Royal Water, it is unisex but does lean a little to the feminine side.
Try Obsession Night, vanilla and woods in an oriental.
To date I have received one sample of Bond No 9 and it was Wall St. It reaked I thought, smelled of cucumbers and kale. I don't let one bad experience write off an entire house and looked forward to...
Man there is a lot going on here.
Wall Street smells nothing like Erolfa.
Nah, it was not blackberries, it was black currant. That was the part I could not stand about SMW, the black currant and the mysterious ink note. The black and green tea notes are lovely though.
Depends on how potent that ink note is in your bottle.
