  1. Re: Montale Gold Flowers 3.4oz for $7 . . . !?

I'll report back. I expect that the seller will cancel the order and refund my $7, but there is a small chance that I'll actually get it. We shall see!
  2. Montale Gold Flowers 3.4oz for $7 . . . !?

I have a hard time imagining this is for real, but I'm happy to spend $7 to see what happens.

    Re: New Amouage Opus VIII

This sounds fantastic. Amouage's florals are generally their best fragrances, and with the exception of Opus II, I love all of the Opuses.

As always, though, Amouage's ad copy is pure gibberish....

Re: Amouage Opus VII is frickin' brilliant!

I can see that - I think that enjoying many of the Opuses comes down to whether or not you like that common base. I detect that "Opusade" base very strongly in IV, V, VI and VII in particular. (In...

Re: Amouage Opus VII is frickin' brilliant!

I like/love all of the Opuses apart from IV, which does too good of a job with the animalic notes for me (it has a very particular near-pornographic essence in the base, which is not something I want...

    Re: Amouage testers at Fragrancenet

There's no difference between the perfume in the regular and tester bottles. I just got my tester bottle of Interlude Man and it's definitely the same as the fragrance in the usual bottle. (Also, as...

    Re: Amouage testers at Fragrancenet

Yeah, I'm still waiting for confirmation on most of my order too - it's been in the warehouse for a day as well. At least the Interlude Man tester shipped - even if most of my order ends up being...

    Re: Amouage testers at Fragrancenet

They do still have testers of Interlude Woman for the insane price of $64 (after applying the coupon) - it's a brilliant and underrated fragrance in my opinion, and for that price I would definitely...

    Amouage testers at Fragrancenet

    Hi all,

Something insane is happening now at fragrancenet because they are selling Amouage testers for absurdly low prices, especially when you enter their standard 20% discount. See for example:...
  11. Re: New launch from Comme des Garcons: Comme des Garcons Black

Good point, and that intentionally synthetic aspect is something I appreciate about the line. It also keeps prices low, which is never a bad thing. If one likes the general CdG aesthetic then Black...

    Re: Bone dry, non-musky scents?

    Here are my thoughts:
    Chanel Sycomore
    Hermes Poivre Samarcande
Amouage Tribute, Honour Man, Interlude Man, Epic Man
    Hermes Bel Ami
    Odin Tanoke
  13. Re: New launch from Comme des Garcons: Comme des Garcons Black

I just got a sample of Black from LuckyScent and have given it a full day's wearing. My conclusion is that it's disappointing. The top notes are wonderful -- nose-ticklingly peppery, spicy, slightly...
  14. Re: Are all desinger and most niche synthetic fragrances?

This is quite true, and important to keep in mind. For example, cyanide is a naturally-occuring compound, but it's anything but healthy to consume! Here's a quote from Perfumes: The Guide on this...

Insane discount on VCA Muguet Blanc

Hi all -- just thought I'd mention that there is an amazing sale on Van Cleef & Arpels Muguet Blanc from their Collection Extraordinaire currently going on at Fragrancenet here. It normally retails...

Re: Citrusy summer (hotter weather) frags?

The best summery citrus I know of is Chanel's Eau de Cologne, closely followed by The Different Company's Bergamote. I really wish that Eau d'Orange Verte by Hermes lasted longer on me -- it's...
  17. Re: *Soft* boozy, slightly sweet/fruity and/or nutty perfume

A lot of people like Guerlain's Spiritueuse Double Vanille, which to my nose has a strong vanillic mixed-drink aspect. I personally am not a fan, but it definitely meets your "boozy" criterion.

I Hate Perfume is fantastic stuff. Brosius is a colorful figure for sure, but he's also making perfumes that are genuinely unlike anything else out there; he's really pushing the boundaries of what...

Re: Subtle warm apple pie fragrance?

I'm a big fan of Ambre Narguile and I definitely agree that it smells like apple pie, although I have to say that it is quite unsubtle so it may not fit your requirement there: rather surprisingly...

Re: any love for Givenchy's Amarige...

Amarige was a big fragrance in its day and still has many fans (of which I am one -- it's a classic, although it definitely requires a light hand on the trigger). But it's also controversial, cf the...

Re: Histoires de Parfums - Defile New York

In keeping with most of the scents from this line that I've smelled, I'd say that it's a straight down the line unisex. I can't really discern the floral note; it must be part of the general green...

    Re: Boston, MA

Yeah, they can be stingy at Barney's -- until you buy something. It's worth buying stuff there, simply because once you've spent some money they'll be very kind with samples. E.g., they gave me 6...
