Re: Bottle volumes listed in CC rather than ML

The fragrance in question is Givenchy III, and both examples appear to be vintage. It's probable that the "cc" version is "more vintage" than the other.

Bottle volumes listed in CC rather than ML

I wonder if this is an indicator of the relative age of a particular bottle. My guess is that the use of CC was abandoned in favor of ML at some point, meaning that one marked with "cc" would be...
  8. Chanel No.19 and the 50ml refillable atomizers

As I understand, these were originally made of brushed stainless steel, before the material was switched to silver plastic.

Do any of you have the stainless steel version? My question is whether...
  9. Re: Vintage FAHRENHEIT: marvelous memories from the past (Christian Dior, 1988)

Interesting. It really is getting too much to keep track of all the packaging oddities.

But 1999? In the original design bottle and box? *sigh* I am rapidly becoming a convert -- convinced by...

Ah, I see. I share your frustration. Fahrenheit (and maybe Dior on the whole?) seems especially inconsistent in its packaging.
I hope Chanel is better -- I'm trying to work out how to spot early...

No, no, no! Credit Andrč for the great photos :). He has done us all a service. My contribution was small, and specifically about the boxes.

  13. Re: Vintage FAHRENHEIT: marvelous memories from the past (Christian Dior, 1988)

My original point was simply to say that there seem to be inconsistencies -- in boxes and batch codes (i.e. reuse of old codes, etc.) as well. And I wanted to suggest to others that if they are...

You seem almost crestfallen, but I can't imagine why. Your bottle looks genuine to me. I don't think there is any question about it. But I am also convinced that mine is genuine -- the box just looks...
  15. Re: Vintage FAHRENHEIT: marvelous memories from the past (Christian Dior, 1988)

Well, I thought the batch code (100ml bottle) was white, but upon close inspection in good light with a magnifying glass, I see it actually silver. lol

Charles Jourdan - Un Homme (100ml)

I guess it would be these.

lol! I thought that might be the case.
I should take pics of the 100ml bottle and box I'm talking about. I just got it, and would like to figure out when it was produced. Batch code is 9M01.

I think you're right (1988), but the forums include a fair number of threads where other basenoters have talked about bottles dating to 1987. I'm pretty sure this is the real deal.
