  1. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

is it perhaps best to wait till the Harrods sale in July - then stock up big?
That was the only place I saw scents going inexpensively in London when i was there.
    Cheers,
    Renato
  2. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

I remember that for a week or so, many years ago, I thought exactly what you did - that a scent for every day of the month would suffice.

    Renato
  3. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

    That's an interesting approach, thanks.

  4. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Thanks. As you indicate, any Top 10 you come up with will be ephemeral at best. But you've done better than me in having a Top 2.

    Renato
  5. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Thanks. But be it fixed target or moving target, without deliberately disregarding 80 or 90% of my scents, I'd still have a really hard time coming up with a Top 5 or 10.
    Regards,
    Renato
  6. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Thanks, I see the logic in what you are doing, but I can't really do that like you do, as I can't see much difference between spring and autumn scents (the temperatures are similar) and our winters...
  7. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Interesting how your evaluation system is the total opposite of mine.
Even if I used as my criterion scents that stand out to me, I'd have a hard time coming up with a Top 5 or 10.
    Regards,
    Renato
  8. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Thanks - I haven't smelled any of them.
I haven't seen them in Europe, so i'll write them down, and maybe I'll come across them when we vacation in New York later this year.
    Cheers,

  9. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Yes, I too have scores of scents i wouldn't consider wearing in anything other than summer or in winter.

  10. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

3X a year would qualify as excessive wear for me when i'm at home (I use some scents much more frequently when travelling). But I like the functionality of your Top 10 - to ensure they get used more....
  13. Re: One's Top 5 and Top 10 Lists - Is one forced to Transition from Them?

Your response is an interesing variation on the theme. A solid Top 5 and a continuously updated next 5.

    Gillette Fusion Proglide Flexball

In my "What's your best cartridge razor? Your Worst?" thread, there were a lot of responses praising Fusion Proglide Flexball.

I bought one on Saturday, and tried it yesterday.

    I usually expect...

I have Mitchum Unscented in spray and in roll-on, as well as the Clinique and Lab series sticks, and the slightly scented Clarins stick.
Also, I found that a local supermarket housebrand spray...

    Re: Return to DE shaving

Glad to see it is working out for you.

I suggest you consider buying either an Alum block or a natural crystal deordorant stick (which is...

Re: Encre Noire. Let's be real...

I don't think your theory doesn't really holds.

  94. Re: Interesting smell - Tree Resin and comparison to Aramis Devin

I blind bought a cheap bottle of Devin in Dubai just over a week ago. I agree with your analysis.
That said, I quite like it. However, my wife quite dislikes it.

Re: issey miyake l homme summer edition

I smelled it the other day, and thought it pretty good.
That said, I never understood why there would be summer editions of L'Eau D'Issey - since to me it is mainly a summer scent.

If not, then you need to consider whether to generally wear scents where you live (must be an odd...

Re: People requesting me to stop wearing fragrance

How curious. I've been to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore wearing 6 to 8 sprays and there was no issue.
I've had plenty of Chinese work colleagues, many of whom I catch up with, and they've...
