Have really fallen hard for Egoiste this past year. Masterpiece in my book.
Looking forward to trying this, but all the testers out are still the previous formulation..with years of dust on them. People are missing out!
Check Silentrich' thread on the for sale section, he's got a 08 for sale!
I thought Eau was the direct competitor to Bleu de Chanel
I'm sure everything is just fine, Alex. It's the weekend and people have lives outside of BN.
Wishing a very speedy recovery to a fellow Chicagoan! I would think something like Acqua Di Parma Colonia or Assoluta may work well. All the best to you.
That would indeed look very neat!!
Eau Extreme for me as well, by far my most complimented.
PE for all of your inquiries.
What's your nighttime scent?
Total of $300 + some change :)
What about you, OP?
#1-LIDGE, followed by:
-1 million and flankers
-Tobacco Vanille (though not as much of recent)
-New Haarlem (again not so much recently, but 2 years ago this fragrance was...
Chanel Bleu maybe?
For sure Fahrenheit!! Good luck, let us know your thoughts!
Fahrenheit is my bad boy fragrance
I've never experienced a fragrance to shift my mood, unfortunately. I do notice that if I wear a fragrance on a particularly sad day for any reason, I will temporarily associate that frag with a less...
Just looked at my two remaining bottles of Chanel Allure and Eau Extreme - both made in USA
Both my mom's No5 that I purchased for her - all made in USA
Count me in as another hopeful that it's not a flanker! Love the line, but it's time for something new.
Hahah you guys crack me up ^^^ Looking forward to smelling this!
Guys, when did we as a society (and a forum) become so hyper-sensitive to everything and everyone around us? I get it, no one likes to smell a foul smelling person, but did we ever come to think that...
Respect both, but for me it's Pluriel without question
Someone wouldn't get a formal medical diagnosis for any of this; I think he meant to use the term more loosely on social attributes rather than a purely clinical one.
This dude has a great point, regardless of what the term for it is. Thanks for sharing.
L`anonyme by a Lab on Fire comes to mind
Have never smelled the Heeley, but reading your description one more time, I really think you will like L`Anonyme.
Acqua di Parma range - I really like Assoluta and Essenza
Atelier Cologne Vetiver Fatale
Armani Rose Alexandrie
Byredo Bal d`Afrique
Amouage Dia Man
Zegna Haitian Vetiver
Have yet to smell it once out in public, so I would agree with those saying it's not ubiquitous - I'd even venture to say it's far from it.
Chanel Egoiste - an awesome contender for the cool Autumn weather.
Gucci Pour Homme II - another favorite for cooler weather
Completely agree with L'Homme's advice- very thoughtful and more than likely very true as well. If I had to pick from your aforementioned 2 then I'd say La Nuit without hesitation. Believe it or not...
Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (made in Italy) - worst sprayer I've ever come across.
That's very exciting! I was in a similar situation a while back and went with Noir de Noir - she loved it.
They both smell good, the problem is you'll more than likely be the only one smelling them...
If I had to pick: YSL- in fact I wore YSL in college and my above statement is from experience.
Wow incredible, congrats!
I personally appreciate the splitters and am very grateful for what they do; whatever they decide to split is fine by me because at the end of the day, it is a privilege (not an expectation) for us...
I'd be really interested in a split of the following:
Atelier Cologne Gold Leather
Mancera Cedrat Boise
I try to avoid fragrances that perform poorly on me, even if I like the way they smell. Some examples: MI, vetiver tonka, bal d`afrique, neroli portofino - love how they smell but just don't last on...
For me personally not worth it.
This one can get cloying pretty fast. The concept that too much of a good thing turns into a bad thing is very applicable here. I'd say max no more than 3 sprays. As with all my fragrances: 1 to each...
Enjoy it any time, but even moreso captivated by it in the Autumn and Spring months.
I always thought Uden was the niche version of Chanel Allure - that I can see; Code not -as much-
Not saying it is identical, but in the same vein, give a sniff to Givenchy Play Intense.
Gave it a full wearing today and it still keeps a smile on my face.
Part of me also wants to get my nose on the concentree and vintage versions, but that's a rabbit hole my wallet can't allow...
Congratulations, Hednic! May you have the passion and health for another 100k+! Cheers, and all the best!
Half a decade ago, when I started this hobby, I was much younger and infinitely more naive about fragrances- I remember sampling Egoiste and did not give it a second chance until now.
A big big fan of acqua di parma colonia for rainy weather.
Thanks so much for this info! I had no idea xerjoffs could be found anywhere in stores in Chicago. Will be sure to stop by. Thanks again!
Looking forward to trying this new iteration. The formulation before it was super fleeting and I was borderline anosmic to it
Brilliant. Definitely evoked an image in my mind
I'd like to think none at all, but I do agree with guys like the OP, TLS, and Suppressor. Companies spend so much money and focus on subliminal & subconscious adverts; it's more of a science than...
Add another one for Nio.
Haven't heard of a 3rd formulation, but that sticker looks it may just be for the Canadian market. Are you located / did you purchase that in Canada?
If it smells like the original but with poorer...
Figs- you have a newer, reformulated bottle. You can tell by the sticker. Yours has a lot of text on it; the older variant has much less.
Otherwise, to my eyes, your bottle looks legitimate.
This thread made me want to revisit Scent of Peace. I remember trying it mid-winter and not being very impressed with it initially and just kind of wrote it off prematurely.
I'm a fan of NY Oud -...
My thoughts exactly. I'm sure there are certain people that take away more anxiety rather than pleasure from this hobby. What's the point?
Life is too short to worry about others. Do and wear what you like. Some people will always find a way to be offended by the smallest things anyway.
By far my most complimented is Allure Sport Eau Extreme. I'm not sure if the reason being that this frag lasts forever on my skin and projects beautifully, but without fail every time I wear it I...
In person: Tuscan Leather or Bois du Portugal
What I'd wear watching it on tv: Fahrenheit
Yup def an early vintage bottle, and if this settles your mind a bit I have similar experience as you. Not a beast by any stretch, but smell-wise it's on a whole different level. Enjoy it!
I hear ya. I almost contemplated not going into healthcare because it would be incongruent with my love of fragrances...
Thanks a bunch for the information! Glad you enjoyed the experience here! I've been to that Saks a few times in the past and always had nice experiences myself (so much so that I must've been...
Where in Chicago did you sample it?? I live here and have yet to find the Dior line in stores!
I agree that outside the BN realm Eau Extreme is very well received. Always gets me comments every time I wear it - can't fault it for that now, can I? It may not be the most riveting thing in the...
Noir de Noir springs to mind
That's uncalled for... Especially towards a 16 year old...
OP, also try:
Comme des garçons "2" (not "2 Man")
Ferragamo F Black
Cartier Declaration d'un Soir
Dior Homme Eau
Hahah this thread really made me chuckle.
Rarely, when I play tennis and happen to sport a cap- I would find myself wearing fresh scents like: MI, Allure Homme Sport, Lacoste Pour Homme, etc.
Same thing here! Started off with mainstream scents then steadily made my way to more niche and challenging scents and now I'm drifting back to my roots.
Tried it after reading this thread, because why not? Don't like it. Mutes the fragrance entirely IMO.
Lotion: unscented Aveeno
Perfume: Amouage Reflection Man
#1 Hermes Vetiver Tonka
+1 Chanel Allure Homme Eau Extreme & GPH II
Wow that's really surprising - I wonder how many other manufacturers may do this...
my only back up is about a combined total 500mL of vintage D&G pour homme - it's funny because i'm not even 'in love' with this fragrance, but it was my first love, and for that, it is special to me....
Hey man, welcome. Bleu is a good choice for what you're looking for. I'd also add in Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. Stick with these basics, they will take you a long way for what you're looking for...
Great frag indeed. I remember picking it up 2 years ago and loved it since. Garners many positive comments from a lot of family and friends
Green Irish Tweed
Perhaps not in the high heat but on cooler spring days - Fahrenheit springs to mind
A lot of people would also add 1 million and Le Male to that list.
Impossible! Their noses must be broken... LN is an amazing scent, one of my favorites.
Le Male, definitely
Allure homme sport or dior homme sport
Really like it as well but barely lasts on me. Gone within 4 hours. Sillage within the first 1.5 hour is huge.
Essenza and colonia assoluta definite tries! Both have garnered me most compliments from this house.
It's a legit bottle, enjoy
Please pm me any offers. Looking for the old formulation in particular.
All my best,
Gold leather followed by vetiver fatale for me.
Another vote for Interlude Man
What the heck, here's me. Nice to put a face to some of you guys on here!
DHI and noir de noir to warm me up :)
Noir de Noir
I'll be in the minority, but as much as I love Aventus, I have gotten better feedback from the girls in my life (mid 20s) with Reflection.
That's awesome! I wish I had the same results as you. While I still love the smell on this one, performance is weak for me. Also I do agree that this is relatively close to Vetiver Tonka.
Hahahah I love this!
Chuck- when you get your Ciel Man I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. I've been debating a FB for a long time - my only gripe is projection.
Agree, really like this one and am quite impressed by it!
Spicebomb in terms of appeal factor and general smell :) good luck!
Incredible, can't wait to smell this one in the States
I revisited NP today in 80F weather and could barely smell it on myself after 3-4 hrs. I don't want my own experience to dissuade you, however!
May I reccomend APOM in lieu of the aforementioned picks both in terms of longevity and compliments.
Otherwise I would choose AUF, as NP has terrible performance IMO.
I've been wearing the heck out of the 15mL I had and really came to love and appreciate this scent. The performance, contradictory to my first post, has been miserable. I get 4 hours out of this (5...
Amen. Couldn't agree more...
So awesome!! Congratulations to you!!
