    Penhaligons is sadly mostly junk now. Racquets Club was nice, but it has been discontinued for quite some time. Extract of Limes is nice too if you can find it.

    Guerlain is really the only house that still uses good quality ingredients (at least in some of their fragrances) listed. Penhaligons was good until several years ago, but has not gone into the trash...

    The current formulation is junk. Just a synthetic bay rum. The original was spicy and slightly powdery. I would recommend the Indian version or something like St. John's Spice Island.

    I would go with the most vintage version of Hermes you can find. I have the black cap version, which is still pretty good. The old bakelite cap was the best.

    I tried the extrait today. It is similar to the EDP, just a little richer and deeper. Not worth the money IMO. I've smelled real deer musk tincture, and it has nothing in common.
