Les Nombres d'Or - Vetyver
Turtle Vetiver Back
Thanks for all your hard work over the years, Rich! You've been the best curator of splits I've had the pleasure of buying from.
and many, many more.
I have not noticed problems adding to my wardrobe (haven't done it in about a week), but I do have difficulty seeing my SOTDs recorded. I will click on the button and the SOTD page that loads will...
Hooray for more sample passes! I, too, am interested to read what everyone has to say about these as I have yet to experience this house's offerings/
I like this fragrance because I have bad taste. :bath:
The only one I can remember negative comments about is Millesime Imperial.
Not at all. This stuff is great so far.
For some reason my first thought of when to wear this tells me "on hot rainy days."
Lothair opens with a bright citrus burst with juniper and slight spices. Immediately after that first impression, I noticed the greenness of the fig. The combination at the top works together to give...
Blind-bought it and it should be waiting for me when I get home today. I hope I didn't have a sample sent and find it arriving later than the bottle. :bath:
I received the samples, safe and sound, from Ms. cello and have this to say about the two I've tested so far:
Levantium: The oud is evident straight away with spices complementing the top aspects...
I do not expect this one to be ground-breaking, but rather a good (to great) cologne. It looks like it's more an offering that caters the new-found exposure that the house is to get with the recent...
Here's me keeping the momentum going (I'm in!). Thanks, Jimmy and 30 Roses.
Seconding Code Sport.
Creeds, Bond no 9s, Acqua di Parmas,
They contain alcohol in high quantities. ;)
A good way of getting people to suggest expensive fragrances is to give them a budget ceiling ($100 in this case). ;)
Terre d'Hermes is not as strict a vetiver as others suggested in this thread,...
It's easier to copy an "original opinion" and make it their own if they're talking about the same thing. It's a bro thing.
One spray. No more.
I'd also like to add that it'd be wise to spray on the wrist as spraying on the chest (or anywhere close to the face/nose) might be overwhelming before you know what to expect.
Nasomatto Blamage. Beware, it's got its haters.
I sampled this and ordered 3 bottles just in case.
I imagine that's what constipation looks like.
That's what Kim Deal smells like.
Yep. Plus, Puig has Comme des Garcons already in their portfolio, so they can't be that bad.
It looks like a good fit.
Blind bought Crabtree & Evelyn Extract of Mysore Sandalwood.
I got two compliments on my sweater within 10 minutes. I sprayed it with CdG Kyoto this morning, so that might be why.
For that price, I'd expect them to come with string and spare tips - like Duncans did:
And yes, pics, please!
Peau d'Espagne is excellent.
Agreed. Talking strictly about transit/clearing customs time, here.
With the current formulation of the D&G, I'd vote Bleu, teu.
Will the house be added to the directory soon? I'd like to be able to add the three bottles I have to my wardrobe. :)
Maybe this'll shed dome light:
Did you get any skank there? Somewhere into the late dry down is where it came up for me.
It's refreshing to see an opinion on the fragrance from someone devoid of pre-conceived notions of it by...
You may have better luck getting feedback here.
It seems I'll never get to smell this one (unless I find it at one of the local CdG retailers). I've ordered samples from both Aedes and Twisted Lily and both times I've received Wonderwood instead....
Did someone say biscuits and cakes?
I wish I was mumsy's kid.
Same reason I pay for music (both recorded and live), food (both to cook myself and to eat at restaurant), plastic art (both to have in my house and to admire at museums, galleries, and studios),...
One that I haven't seen mentioned: Wazamba.
The box is from the smokey batch. :bath:
It's part of the line's expansion to gender-identity-and-sexual-preference-specific flankers (from research conducted here). Next up are 1 gillion, 1 lillion, and 1 willion. 1 trillion will be coming...
That's been my experience (minus the being talked down to) with the local Neimans. They like pushing MFK for some reason.
I've been wearing this every day for the last week for no other reason than I just like it that much. I would not call it intense... nor cuir... nor does it necessarily smell like Cuban tobacco,...
It's enough when you have to ask if it's enough.
If you're interested in Montale, I'd add Red Oud and Dark Oud. I second the Ex Idolo Thirty-Three suggestion for rose-prominent fragrance. If you have a Sephora around you, I'd take the Atelier...
So Andy Tauer not only discovered teleportation but also proved that there is a soul? There's at least one Nobel Prize there. :bath:
The sample I tried must have been deffective because it left me...
I never understood how someone would want to sit through 20+ minutes of review. Especially when every review seems to be "thisisaworkofartmasterpieceohmygodsoamazingthumbsup!"
Hindu Kush is amazing.
Maybe Spice and Wood or Royal Oud of the more readily available.
Aventus could also be a year-round one. However, Creed wouldn't be amongst my first recommendation for a colder weather/night...
Mona di Orio Les Nombres d'Or - Ambre
Atelier de Geste - Wild is the Wind
Atelier de Geste - The Good Earth
Parfums de Nicolai - Cuir Cuba Intense
I actually put my order for these in last night, so technically it was November that...
So can any of the lucky recipients chime in on their impressions? :)
I was planning on doing so on this thread but my sample never appeared. :(
The best (pushiest) for me was at Nordstrom. My girlfriend was shopping for a suit, so I went downstairs to kill time and check out the fragrance section.
I was surprised to see Parfums de Marly...
Coat your palate and tongue with wax and bite off the affected part. Spit out immediately afterwards.
That's not the inventory they need to clear. ;)
Yeah, they should really do Norne II. :bath:
worn-out elastic bands: the true panty droppers.
I smelled this at NM before it launched officially and I have to echo that I was more impressed by the feminine version. I was not very impressed with the masculin.
Awesome! If this were five years ago, I'd so be there.
Thanks for the info, lpp. :)
The main benefit I would see if I were to start hosting splits (besides those of any other hobby) is that I would get exposed to many more fragrances than I normally would.
It goes without saying...
Mine came in on Saturday - picked it up on Tuesday from the post office, if that helps get an idea. I haven't given it a try yet, but I liked what I smelled off of the closed vial.
btw, I love the...
I do get raunch before the very late drydown. It's an ambergris bomb at one point.
If getting laid is considered profit; none.
I'm guessing they are cheaper to manufacture... and they're gimmicky.
They are to keep from accidentally spraying in lieu of bottle caps.
Hold the bottle at arms length so that the label is facing you, shake three times to the left, two times to the right. Now the molecules have been properly activated and your fragrance will be good...
I thought of that, too! My version is more romantic. :P
It reminds me of childhood:
This is what I wrote to them through their "contact us" page a few months ago:
And this is what they came back with:
If that doesn't work, not much more will.
You can also email following the contact information on their website. I scored samples of their essenze line that way.
I got indirect compliments from two male coworkers earlier today. When I revealed it was my cologne (Santa Maria Novella's Peau d'Espagne) that they were smelling, we went into the whole Anchorman...
Spray the door with sunblock.
"You smell like a sexy baby."
See you soon. :)
Yeah, balsamic vinegar has no balsam whatsoever...
Another reference on Orange is the New Black happens in a flashback scene for one of the inmates, Rosa. She has just robbed a bank with three males, one of which is her boyfriend. I believe it is him...
The definite answer to whether it's fake is
All joking aside, give your nose a rest and revisit the fragrance...
I wore Steampunk last week and found it to be a nice (not too) powdery violet. The opening had some citrus and dry cedar. The violet was always present. I got a slight leather vibe and there was...
I'm wearing Limed today. I love this one - especially the dry down. It's a shame that it's not in the directory.
I got a set of samples some months back as I like a couple of the regular DS & Durga line. I recall enjoying Isle Ryder and Spirit of the Glen (the former more than the later). Ironically, I was more...
Good choice and even better username!
