Lapidus Pour Homme: Can't stand the scent on me but the bottle is beautiful art deco.
Pancaldi Conetree: Way to dry and full of clove but again, I like art deco bottles, and...
  89. Re: Do you think classic men's designer "old-school" frags are making a comeback?

    :mind blown:
I'm a big fan of Drakkar Noir and not a fan at all of Sauvage but now I see it!
Maybe that explains why I'm coming around to the dark blue ambroxan trend.
  90. Re: How to tell if vintage juice has gone bad?

So individual notes can go bad, not just the ones in the opening? If that's the case then I think I might be hanging it up on my vintage collecting. At least for awhile.

    Re: Azzaro apology

You said all that? I don't remember you calling anyone weak minded but appreciate the apology.

I always enjoy reading your posts and didn't take offense to that thread you made. I also had...
  92. How to tell if vintage juice has gone bad?

I've acquired a handful of vintage fragrances and some of them have smelled off to me. But since I've never experienced some of them in vintage form is it that I'm not used to the pre-IFRA...
  93. Re: Halston Z-14 (old formulation) vs (new formulation)

Ya know, I'm going to assume the juice turned. I prefer fougeres to chypres but I also like stuff like Aramis and Lacoste Original. Something about my bottle of the JG version just smells bad in the...
  94. Re: Do you think classic men's designer "old-school" frags are making a comeback?

I haven't noticed any younger guys wearing old school fragrances with the exception of a late 20s guy successfully wearing Aramis, and another late 20s-something wearing Fahrenheit.
    I think if...
  95. Re: 70s/80s fragrances that AREN'T: powdery, cinnamon, etc

    I have the third one.

I remember something warm about Egoiste that I didn't like and I think it was a cinnamon note.

Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately I don't have the budget...
  96. Re: Halston Z-14 (old formulation) vs (new formulation)

    Okay, finally a side-by-side comparison.

    EA HALSTON Z-14 (current version)
    Opening
Smells disgustingly like Big Red chewing gum. No nuance really. You can barely tell there's a lemon note hiding...
  97. Re: 70s/80s fragrances that AREN'T: powdery, cinnamon, etc

I have it and it's a fantastic scent but I associate it with the early 2000s as that's when I first encountered it in department stores. And either way, it's always had a "ahead of it's time" style...
  98. 70s/80s fragrances that AREN'T: powdery, cinnamon, etc

I dislike so much stuff from the 70s and 80s. Powdery musk stuff like Stetson, Pierre Cardin and Paul Sebastian not my bag.
Cinnamon and clove dominant fragrances like Pancaldi make my...
  99. Re: Van Cleef & Arpels Tsar: Old formulation vs. New formulation

Jaguar for Men is similar to Tsar IMO. Tsar smells cleaner in the dry down while Jaguar for Men is more pungent. I'm not a fan of Jaguar for Men but it has its fans.
  100. Re: Halston Z-14 (old formulation) vs (new formulation)

I've tried the Jeff Gordon bottle five or six times now. I just don't get it. I'm trying to score a bottle of the new oakmoss-less juice to do a side-by-side comparison..

    I just tried the Jeff...
