Re: Aveda Love ( original )

No, not the perfumes. Just the perfumers.

Can't you just add a drop of Carnal Flower perfume to some water and spritz your hair? I mean, $160? Really? Jeez ....

Re: Aveda Love ( original )

Yes, it's very much reminiscent of wet wood, if that makes any sense. Earthy. But nice. I love it. Wish I didn't tip over my entire tube and empty it out!
  4. Re: Is it weird that I don't smell ANY patchouli in Portrait of a Lady?!

I mix Patchouli and Sandalwood on my own with high quality essential oils I purchase from India and Malaysia (I also add Rose Absolut). To me, in PoaL, those 3 notes are the most dominant, because...
  5. Re: Incestuous mixes: Jicky and Mouchoir de Monsieur, immersed

I think we all know what it's like to suffer the unapologetic, indiscriminate toying with the perfumes we love. As I have mentioned to MdM, Lanvin, still in charge of all their parfums, does exactly...

    Re: Tom Ford Violet Blonde

Well, now that I see the "notes" you posted I'm very curious to smell this ... what a strange top mixture! Violet, orange and pink? Wonder how he pulled that off. That sends my mind in 3 different...

    Re: Tom Ford Violet Blonde

Sorry if I was vague. When I said "meant," I was inferring that the e on the end of "blonde" meant that it's probably "marketed" for women exclusively. :) I guess I can understand why some men would...

Never said you couldn't. Just said if you don't like it, the white note is probably why.

    Re: Tom Ford Violet Blonde

Now, now, don't get your panties in a bunch, Mister! ;) I was doing a little verbal detective work and responding to "hednic" and "dullah's" comments, and on the possible marketing plan for this...

    Re: Tom Ford Violet Blonde

While many of you gents say "nay," there's probably a good reason. Unless someone goofed on the spelling, "Violet Blonde" is meant exclusively for women. It's either got a vanilla note, or something...
  11. Re: Remember the violet candies wrapped in purple tinfoil?

Please, let us know! Feel better! :)
  12. Re: Remember the violet candies wrapped in purple tinfoil?

Yes, it's definitely an acquired taste, lol! My grandmother was a flapper, a 1920s gal who worked and cut her hair, and she said they were the rage back then. She always had them, I remember. I think...
  13. Re: Remember the violet candies wrapped in purple tinfoil?

I wish they made a perfume that smells like the C. Howard's Violet Candies! I LOVE that smell!
  14. Re: I'm sorry, but I just don't like the new website

That's a good point, so let's hope they listen. I do like the look of the site and it seems more "stable" server wise. That was always a problem, so I guess there are a few positives. :)
  15. I'm sorry, but I just don't like the new website

I wish I could say I like the new website layout/setup .... I really don't like it at all. All of the nice features of the old site are gone. The only thing I could see as a plus is the edit review...
