  1. How would LIDGE and DHI do in spring/summer as every day scents?

I know some of you will say 'wear whatever the hell you want whenever the hell you want to' but I've never owned full bottles of either and I would like to know how they do in hot weather.
  2. Re: New fragrance from John Galliano: Before Midnight

The bottle is terrible, and I also refuse to endorse or purchase anything with Galliano's name on it.

Re: When does Complexity become Cacophony?

When your nose tells you so.
  4. Re: What's your maximum amount of sprays on low projecting/lasting fragrances?

    I laughed.
  5. What's your maximum amount of sprays on low projecting/lasting fragrances?

Pretty self explanatory question. Also, if you know a fragrance to be amazing but 'weak', do you buy it and overspray (if so how much) or do you just not buy it.
  6. Re: Best orange (smell, not the colour) scent for men?

I honestly don't think I've ever gotten to the basenotes, I've only had a sample of it... The opening drives me crazy though.
  7. Re: Best orange (smell, not the colour) scent for men?

Thanks a lot guys. The thing about Artisan is that it's not really a fresh, sharp orange smell like Terre d'Hermes. Not sporty at all. It's very soft and rich. I'll be checking out these...
  8. Best orange (smell, not the colour) scent for men?

I love the smell of Varvatos' Artisan but it lasts like 4 seconds. Can anyone recommend something similar? Preferably powerful but just as sweet/rich as Artisan.
  9. Re: Is John Varvatos Artisan's lasting power/projection really that bad?

Dear God.. so it is that bad. Anybody got a suggestion on something similar to Artisan that DOES last?
  10. Is John Varvatos Artisan's lasting power/projection really that bad?

Out of all the samples I acquired a while ago it's by far my favourite and I want to buy it badly but an overwhelming amount of people say the projection etc is worthless. Is it that bad?

How aboouuut Bleu de Chanel? I've only recently started collecting so I don't have much but I'd kill for Encre Noir.
  12. Re: BNIB Lalique Encre Noire EDT - Brisbane or Melbourne swap

How about YSL's L'Homme (40ml) or La Nuit de L'Homme Parfum (60ml)? Both over 95% full.

La Nuit >> Sexy and simple. I prefer Burberry Brit over London though.

Re: I might be obsessed with sampling.

Ah! Mick_Trick, those look amazing. I'm almost hoping I don't fall in love with them since they're rather expensive but the bottle, colours and even the names are right up my alley. They're just so...

I might be obsessed with sampling.

Hi guys, second ever thread on basenotes. I only recently started caring about fragrances and I love it so much. I didn't know a smell could evoke so much memory/emotion. To me a good scent is like a...

  26. Long time lurker, first time poster. 23 y.o. college student needs some tips.

    Hi guys,

I've been creeping on the boards for weeks now and am at this point completely fascinated by fragrances. I've only ever owned a tiny bottle of Burberry brit and that was my go-to scent....
