  1. Re: Amouage lovers....May we have a conversation.

I own Dia (which has been in my top 5), Opus VI, and Opus VII. Considering Interlude and Fate. I think I like Epic, but the sample I have has NO longevity, which is weird because Amouage is...

Re: YOSH - Konig Feedback and thoughts

Count me among the disappointed. I am a big Sombre Negre fan and had high hopes. To me there is something like a cypress/Iso E Super accord (reminds me somehow of Terre d'Hermes) laid over burnt...
  3. Re: Article: Sandalwood Dreams, Part 8: Uses and Markets + Sandalwood Oil Giveaway

So many of the natural elements that make perfumery great have taken a beating, I'm very encouraged that someone had the foresight (and business sense) to work on establishing a sustainable source...

Re: Chanel Pour Monsieur with muscle?

If you do any traveling, especially but not necessarily internationally, check the airport shops. I have seen a number of them carrying the "real" Pour Monsieur in the square bottle, even in recent...
  5. Re: Does anyone actually *love* Guerlain Vetiver?

I pretty much loved it at first sniff, and it's been high in the rotation ever since. It's probably the one I turn to most often when I want something "safe" but still beautiful (followed by Dior...

And how does this compare to the Parfum Initial? It's also a lighter, simpler relative. I am wearing a bit today, courtesy of Sephora, and quite like it.

Re: Monsters of longevity and sillage

My all time longevity champ has to be Le Labo's Patchouli 24............anything with a touch of birch tar seems to do that, a la Lonestar Memories.

    and what powerhouse forum??

    Re: Underneath clothing

Exactly! If I spray upper chest/lower neck and then put on shirt, just enough rubs off on or gets absorbed by the shirt to help the fragrance as long as possible.

Re: Caron's Third Man: Anything like it?

I agree with Renaissance Man above. I find it to be much like a less complex Creed Bois Du Portugal (but I don't find it at all like Guerlain Heitage, which was not a favorite).

Your thoughts about Tauer's Incense Rose are right on. Some of the other recs above are, admittedly, not all that rose-oriented. Tauer's is.
  21. Included Fragrances Missing from "Brands" List

Perhaps this qualifies as a minor annoyance, but I have noticed a lot recently that fragrances not included when the "Brands" list is pulled up nevertheless exist as if they were -- latest example:...
  22. Re: What is the best "green" fragrance for you? (eg. notes: lemon leaves, vetyver, green tea etc...)

Chanel No. 19 is a classic green, might be doable as a unisex, but not for me.

My green is a green citrus, Hermes's Eau D'Orange Vert -- an all-time top 10 for me!
  23. Re: Looking for a smoky, birch tar laden leather.

Not for the faint of heart, but Tauer's Lonestar Memories he describes as "an ode to birch tar." And the memories involve cowboys sitting around the campfire.........so it should be right up this...
