I have the exact opposite opinion.

I have the exact opposite opinion.
Windsor, Nobile, Blend 30. 2-3 large bottles of each.
This is my belief as well.
Great call on the Corinto, excellent Vetyver.
+1 for Mito. Absolutely beautiful.
The only bottle I have ever finished..Egoiste. I finished it in a few months!
Interesting. It is definitely more lactonic than what I think of as an aldehyde. Thanks for the clarification.
I have a small bottle of the original. I wear it about twice a year. I wait until I have a day without much going on, so there is nothing distracting me from the experience of wearing it. It is truly...
Don't have the limited version, but CC No. 1 would likely be my most flamboyant.
Also maybe Egoiste CC. Love that stuff.
Roja Dove No 3
Just rekindled with a old love the last month. Egoiste CC. I'm now at probably 27/30 days with it. And I'm talking twice a day application. The most before this? Probably only 3 straight days with...
I am usually a 5-6 spray guy, for CC it's 1-2 for me.
The sillage and longevity are insane with this beauty. One spray is all I can handle!
Another bottle of Egoiste CC from a kind Basenoter. I am truly addicted to this stuff.
Roja Dove Vetiver
Egoiste yet again !
Vintage Egoiste EDT.
Fall! But that's my favorite season in general.
2. Guerlain Vetiver
3. Green Irish Tweed
4. Caron Pour Un Homme
5. Chanel Pour Monsieur
6. Bois Du Portugal
7. Habit Rouge
8. Mona Di Orio Vetyver
9. Rive Gauche
10. Lumiere Noire
Stuck in a rut like never before..Egoiste CC again.
Nice haul! Congrats!
I picked up:
Eight & Bob
Armani Code Sport Athlete
I find it a bit feminine, if pressed to answer, buts it's gorgeous and have no issues wearing it.
Yep. Own both. Awesome. Will buy Windsor if/when released again.
Recently got a bottle of the cologne concentree, have worn it everyday since I got it, just amazing stuff!!!
Egoiste Cologne Concentree, thanks to a kind friend here on BN!!!
Own vintage extrait and, though I don't wear it often, it is amazing!!!
All things being equal, Tweed is a huge compliment getter for me too.
Roja Dove No. 3
I can see where it could be very polarizing.
I find it amazing and will buy it when the pure extrait is available, as I have all her other extraits. That being said, I have to agree with the others above, it is no rose soliflore.
Dunhill Blend 30
Won't be missing much IMO. Not a fan.
Agree, I have to spray more than usual. But longevity is not an issue for me.
Me too!!! I share your excitement for this. Really really nice stuff.
Honestly, 90% of what I own. And all of my blind buys. This website is awesome, the amount of fragrance knowledge on here at any given time is unreal.
Wearing this for the first time (blind buy like 80% of my purchases). It is very nice. Clearly related to its namesake, but a different take. And that jasmine is LOVELY!
Mona Di Orio's Vetyver remains one of my favorite vetivers (Roja Dove's likely is, but not sure I will buy a 2nd bottle given the cost). But I hope I always have a bottle of Mona's on hand!
Guerlain Vetiver Sport
Habit Rouge L'Eau
Brooks Brothers Black Fleece
All 3 flankers are great IMO. I especially like l'eau boisee, but I am a big fan of vetiver.
Thanks! Full or partial bottle. Sample ok too.
Agree on trying Eau du Sud if possible as well.
IMO it is pretty unique and very potent. Beautiful but at times challenging to wear. I own and love it, but wear it infrequently.
Why thank you sir!
Eau de Quinine
I hope! I will stock up. Personally don't ever want to be without.
It took me a few wearings, but I absolutely LOVE Windsor. One of my personal favorites. I can, however, understand those who don't like the eucalyptus note or those expecting a huge rose presence...
Wearing Royal Scottish Lavender right now, forgot how amazing it is! Caron PH and Vero Kern's Kiki are both nice. Patou PH Prive is one of the best lavenders. Jicky too.
Currently, Windsor and Roja Vetiver
More of the Roja Dove semi-bespoke perfumes when I was in London in 2010. Bought no 3 and love it!
Wearing it now! Great scent, need to be in the mood for it, but really nice!
Hednic (or others) please give your opinion on these when you can. Thanks!
In Paris you should hit Guerlain's flagship on Champs Elysee. Even if just for the experience.
My personal is Roja Dove No 3, $1500. And worth every penny IMO.
IMO it's a great fragrance, but not a great vetiver fragrance as there is not much noticeable vetiver.
Agree with Hednic, Parfum D'Habit. And I wear it during the summer as well. Habit Rouge a close second for me.
Hey Hednic, is that actually different juice than "standard" #1? Thanks!
Wore it yesterday. Wonderful! Highly recommended!
Head to Bergdorf Goodman. Great selection, and one of only two places in the world to smell JAR perfumes. Osswalds is nice as well.
Is true. Just received my leather atomizer (50ml leather atomizer). Thanks again!
For the original post:
2. Feuilles Verte
3. Selection Verte
4. Pure White Cologne
Was Windsor re-released?!?
The citrus mint notes on vintage Green Water are to die for. But are similar to Selection Verte, which I love as well.
Both are bottle worthy, imo. Both are better in vintage form, imo. Agree with the above poster MdM and Jicky can be very polarizing, usually a love/hate thing. I own vintage Jicky and vintage CpM....
Dunhill Blend 30.
Buy or trade. Thanks!
Speaking of Mitsouko..I own a 1970's EDT and had a new EDT. It is not even close, almost not the same scent. And I am a huge Guerlain fan. And I fully understand its not Guerlain's fault that...
Oh this one is sooooo much better (IMHO).
vintage L'Heure Bleue
vintage Vol de Nuit
vintage Apres L'Ondee extrait
vintage Bois des Iles
vintage Cuir de Russie
some probably less thought of as masterpiece's, but are...
Hey Joe, how does exercise 2 compare to exercise 1? In general how do you like it? Thanks!
Its all about the juice, for me anyhow. But prefer to own original bottle vs decant. I just don't really care what the bottle looks like.
Nope, all about the mood for me.
I am a huge fan of Bois des Iles. I do agree that the newer Exclusifs version, though a work of art, borders on too feminine up top. But it is beautiful. Older, pre-Exclusifs, BdI has a bit less...
Not sure on vintage Knize. But traditional leather materials are/were: birch tar, quinolines, castoreum, patchouli, oakmoss and vetiver. Other materials that have leather nuances to various degrees...
I am a sucker for those oldies. All 3 are just fantastic, especially the Chanel For Men. Nice haul!
Wow Volley, they are beautiful. So rich, and the bottles are amazing. Very strong start to the month!!!
I prefer, in order:
Dunhill Blend 30
Now, all three are distinctly different. Blend 30 is very green, spicy, aromatic, with and incredible woody base. PPH is incredibly an...
In no particular order.
1. Dunhill Blend 30
2. Original Dunhill for Men
3. Gucci Nobile
4. Monsieur Balmain
5. Patou Pour Homme
6. Patou Pour Homme Prive
7. Lacoste Jean Patou Eau de Sport...
Excellent points MOONB! Not likely any company would take the huge financial risk of putting a warning label on, while the act of placing the warning label on just strengthens the oppositions case. ...
I will be honest, I don't get where the IFRA has a right to restrict or forbid anything. It seems to me that a warning would be sufficient. "This Product Contains Oakmoss Extract, Which Has Been...
Mastic, Chamomile, Cognac, Styrax, real Santal Album (ethically harvested, of course), Atlas Cedar, Hay, real Oakmoss (I know, I'm dreaming here).
Just a couple more...
Big 250ml splash, I don't ever want to run out of this amazing juice.
I think the birth of aquatic crap, new restrictions placed key ingredients, and the relative lack of brilliant perfumers around these days have all lead to the demise of those scents. The last one...
Etienne Aigner..No 1, No 2, Statement. All great, especially No 1 and Statement. Old school (and cheap) Mem Company stuff..Windrift, Timberline, Racquet Club, Lime. Lanvin For Men. Jovan Grass...
