Would add for Creed - BdP and S&W
I have tried a number of Bond No 9 fragrances, and this is one of the less irritating (obnoxious) ones. Still very shrill, but doesn't scream "Please notice me!" as loudly as some of the others.
Can't beat Creed's GIT for these requirements. Current price for the 2.5 Oz is 123 bones @ Fragrancenet with a 25 percent off coupon if your budget will accommodate this.
I just noticed Remik has...
When I purchase from Amazon, if it's not directly from Amazon as the seller, then I try to ensure it's "fulfilled by Amazon." That offers a greater level of credibility from a customer service...
I just received mine. I had ordered one for $4, but the seller sent two 1.3 oz bottles. It was delivered straight from the 80's via time machine, and heralded the final stage of my maturation...
It is truly heartwarming to know that people like this still exist.... what an wonderful gesture, and such an amazing person to do that.
Thanks to the OP for sharing this story too.
Thank you for providing this... I could not resist ordering... It actually already shipped out too.
-Clive Christian X
I alternate between:
-Kyoku's Razor Repair Balm
-Crabtree & Evelyn's Sandalwood.
Happy birthday, dude. Pix or ban, stat!
Actually, wanted to commend you for creating an entertaining post that drew some amusing responses as well.
Thanks! Not a big practitioner of blind buying, but I may very well make an exception for this.
How long does this scent last on your skin, KBF1972?
This is one of my favorites by this house.
Creed's Acier Aluminum = Faintly rotting banana accord
Tom Ford Noir
I haven't tried many from this house, but I echo A Taste Of Heaven & Cruel Intentions.
I usually wear Creed BdP to my meetings. LIDGE or Sartorial would be effective as well.
These would be my choices as well. Establish your mastery over the environment with either of these, and let the rest of your coworkers be cowed by your consummate professionalism and good taste.
Memoir Man, with Dia in close competition.
Did I hear the old rascal (term used endearingly  ) alluding to a reformulation when referring to his personal scent in the posted interview?
I've always used Nexxus products for the longest time.
I've been hearing about Bumble & Bumble more and more recently - think I'll give them a shot next go around.
Hi Tester.. to me there is some similarity - both are classic, refined & aristocratic. Earlier I used to think they smelled very similar, but now I realize they both evoke the same associations and...
The first time I tried IB, I liked it, but not enough to splurge for a full bottle. I actually ended up getting Creed BdP and have not regretted that decision.
The second sample of IB I procured...
Is there any similarity to Creed's Spice & Wood?
I own and love Memoir. If I ever had to choose a signature scent, it would be a strong contender.
I've purchased several samples of Epic and tried to establish a relationship with it, but while I...
Based solely on the OP's observations, I may need to purchase a sample or three of this and embark on a one man empirical testing campaign to validate those claims.
I see lots of bars in my...
Yes, yes, yes!
Ah.. the nostalgic smells of garlic and rubbish - can't wait to try this one out!
(grew up in Queens :smiley: )
I like Lubin's Le Vetiver's line for a versatile, year round experience that won't cause your wallet to grieve too much. I don't think you can go wrong with either Itasca or Bluff, although I am a...
My most recent sample of J XXV was purchased from Lucky Scent about 6 weeks ago. I get a full business day out of it, although it is reduced to a skin scent in about 3 - 4 hours.
Last week, a complete (very attractive) stranger said: "Ooh, you smell really good. What are you wearing?"
It was Aventus
I get that a lot with Aventus.
I own and love SDV. Beautiful fragrance, but can become overwhelming and cloying if not used with restraint ( 2 sparing sprays for me). It is one of the longest lasting scents in my little...
Basically almost all of my humble collection.
On the advice of a fellow Basenoter, I tried to purchase it from lilydirect, but it was out of stock, and has been since.
I then purchased it from Fragrancenet, (where I have purchased a number of...
I don't know if this could be classified as a true Vetiver per se, but the one that's always captured my attention, and is very classy in an aristocratic, old world sort of way is Lubin's Itasca.
There's no shame in revealing what you're wearing, regardless of it's an imitation (homage) or not. It is basic integrity; more a measure of a person's character than anything else. It gives others...
Clive Christian C or X, Creed BdP or GIT come to mind.
I've received the shipments. They're all made in Japan.
You're right, after using these, I cannot go back to anything else. They are extraordinary, and my skin feels supple and fresh afterwards.
This is where I've ordered mine from. Very prompt and courteous service.
Thank you for mentioning this. I was not aware of their ebay store until I saw your comment. Was contemplating purchasing from Amazon, but when I saw their ebay listing, I just went ahead and pulled...
I wear Aventus to the office as part of a rotation. Maybe once or twice a week, depending on my mood. I always get complimented on it, and I can be trigger happy sometimes.
The one, ironically,...
I ordered from them once. Very quick response, and included some cool samples as well.
I own SdV, and am very happy with the purchase. I like TI very much as well, but recently find myself reaching for this more often than not when making the decision between the two. Have had it for...
I like TL, but if I had to choose, it would definitely be CCC.
Thanks for posting. I just picked up a few Bond samples from Saks. I will say that they are very liberal with their samples which are free (always a plus), and the SA was stunning
Of the choices above, Derby would be my pick.
TBH, though, whenever I have a business meeting, I usually go with Guerlain LIDGE or Creed BdP.
@demcav Hah! So true!!!
Mysore Sandal Soap is a particular favorite of mine.
I've traditionally worn Creed's BdP to interviews.
I would recommend GIT from your selections... it just seems so representative of what I imagine great works of fiction and historical tomes to be...
Has anyone mentioned Serge Noire, one of my favorite fragrances?
MKK & Serge Noire are my two current SL favorites...
It comes with a complimentary bad toupee, perpetual sneer and when you open the box, it starts griping about Rosie O'Donnell. Think I'll pass on this one :)
After the initial nutmeg? blast wears off, Serge Noir becomes transcendental on my skin, and lasts all day long. This fragrance surprised me by the amount of compliments it garnered. I had purchased...
This is my power fragrance. I wear it when I want to be sexy and intimidating at the same time. It is gorgeous and atavistic and so quintessentially masculine.
When I was making the decision to...
I own this and love it. Unfortunately, if I want to achieve some degree of longevity (beyond 6 hours), I have to spray directly onto my clothing as well.
So, so hilarious
Yay!!! Thank you!!! Just got mine in the mail today, but haven't had the opportunity to try as yet. Can't wait.
Hi All... Comments from anyone with this batch number please? A42B11Y01
This is the cheapest I've seen MiP EDP. Couldn't resist purchasing a bottle :)
Thank you for posting, and bringing this to my attention.
Not necessarily in this order:
-Clive Christian X
Thanks, heperd :) Yep, I totally agree.
Thanks for your response, and you make a good point, JiveHippo, that the batch numbers could potentially be different.
Want to pull the trigger, so maybe I'll just eat the additional cost and go...
I would like to purchase Aventus from FragranceX, and sent an email to their customer support for clarification on their current batch numbers. The response I received (below) was not very edifying:...
Creed BdP, IMHO
OP, you're spot on. They're different enough to justify owning both. I'd start off with SDV. You're probably not going to wait until Fall to acquire TI though (or vice versa) :)
I'll kiss them full on the lips and invite them back to my place, where I'll regale them with my neurotic behaviour and tales of my dysfunctional childhood.
Oh, good times, indeed!
He's right... try a sample if you can before discounting this. It is a simply exquisite scent.
This lasts over 8 hrs on my skin. I also own La Nuit, so I'll try that. Good suggestion.....
Soooo awesome!!! I love it!
Thank you for your response Mr. Reasonable.... I really appreciate it !!! TI's one of my favorite fragrances, and I was curious if there would be some duplication involved investing in MR. This...
This was one of my earlier fragrances (not that long ago). It took a few wearings to get acclimated to it. I really have not noticed the peppermint accord previously mentioned. What I do get phantom...
Is this similar in any way to Tonka Imperiale?
Fragrance? What fragrance? I whip it out, panties evaporate, and the party's started, baby. All night long! Yeah!!!
(sorry, couldn't resist)
Honestly, different fragrances appeal to different...
I recently acquired this, and am still getting acclimated to it. I really enjoy the anise but as the day progresses, it evolves into what another member had brilliantly termed a really rich creme...
Merry Christmas to each of you, and my thanks to you all for providing me with the insight and perspicacity to start appreciating fine fragrances.
LOL !!! Great response :) :)
Wonder what the female version of this is called? The cologne, I mean.
Too funny! I saw the title of your thread and rushed to suggest Tonka Imperiale, which along with Guerlain's SDV & Voyou are my favorite fragrances currently. Then I read your qualifying comments....
In the spirit of trying to get my post count up to a whopping five... I have both and like them both very much. If I want to be positively affirmed, though, compliment wise, I'll definitely go La...
Predicated on some very erudite and wonderfully descriptive posts on this forum, I blind purchased this from Nordstrom with very high expectations. For about two weeks thereafter, I walked around...
Ironically enough, I recently tested both these fragrances and walked away with a newly purchased bottle of La nuit de l'homme and a generous sample of D&G's The One liberally applied all over my...
Detest may be too strong a word, but I would have to exercise great restraint if the urge to use Kouros ever overcame me again. This was doubly disappointing, given all the accolades it's received on...
The good (unfortunately): Longevity was at least 7 hours.
The bad: It smells like someone gargled with mint flavored mouthwash, then spit on you.
I carefully placed my Nordstorm samples where they...
