Re: I am starting a new blog

Re: the prolific perfumer post: https://perfumesilove.com/2016/09/28/the-price-of-fame/

Duchaufour also once mentioned in an interview that he composes many unsigned attar-style perfumes for...
  2. Re: What Fragrance to Wear to a Salvador Dali Exhibition? (No Les Parfums Salvador Dali)

One of the Amouage Myths? They're inspired by surrealism, apparently.

Or a faecal oud? - Dali was obssessed by all things scatological.

Re: Greatest Hits : Olivia Giacobetti

I am one of her many admirers. I would like to know why there have been hardly any releases attributed to her in recent years. Is she taking a break or are things being released that I'm unaware of?

    Re: Wearable Oud Scents

Xerjoff's Fars for wearability - a bright lavender and oud combo that is just right in terms of richness scale so it can be worn both for causal day to day use and for occasions. But it's pricey. :(
  5. Re: Anybody tried Fidelis by Histoires De Parfums?

One word of caution - it's a full on perfume and, in my opinion, not particularly suited to warm/hot weather. So should be tried when the temperature is a bit comfortable.
  6. Re: Anybody tried Fidelis by Histoires De Parfums?

I think if you love Portrait of a Lady you will probably also appreciate this - though the two are quite different. With Fidelis it's the juxtaposition of smoke against the luscious fruity...
  7. Re: Anybody tried Fidelis by Histoires De Parfums?

Definitely worth a try - as hednic said, it's quite different from the oud trio that were launched together (of which I own Rosam and Ambrarem). Those were more way out - this concentrates on being a...

Re: best and worst rose ouds

Best: my all time favourite is probably Caron's Secret Oud (rose is quite soft in this one), followed by MFK's Oud Satin Mood and HDP's Rosam

Least: way too many - have tried many stinkers as I...

Hey Buysblind - totally agree that this is a superb release. (I tend to do reviews rather than chat about fumes on the forums; there do seem to be a couple of threads about this one but not sure how...

Re: I found my holy grail fragrance!

Yup, Dia Man is quite exceptional - it has bugged me for years now (well, ever since I first fell for it) that we don't know the perfumer(s) who created it. I'd love to hunt out other work by them.

    Re: Muggy Weather

I agree with Shifty Bat who recommends dry and spicy. I'm not that keen on the spicy but find that dry ouds work really well when its hot and muggy. They may not be light and refreshing (though...

Re: I am starting a new blog

Wow - recent entries: a perfume review (Incendo by la Curie) and a charming entry on soap (I too fell in love with Irish Spring when I visited the US in 1980s).
Thank you so much - this is the most...

  16. Re: Interested in Amouage.. Suggestions please?

Amouage has many wonderfully rich creations - many of them sharing a pristine frankincense note. Of course there are duds in the lineup but on the whole their strike is high. Prepare to have your...

  26. Re: Perfumers thoughts / opinions etc. on the IFRA / EU situation

I think what the OP is trying to create here is a repository of links/references to perfumers' thoughts on IFRA - good, bad or ugly. That is a solid intention, to have a library of links for people...
  27. Re: Perfumers thoughts / opinions etc. on the IFRA / EU situation

  28. Re: Perfumers thoughts / opinions etc. on the IFRA / EU situation

  47. Where can I find Cartier's Les Heures line in Paris?

I'll be visiting shortly and would love to try some of these. If someone can tell me where they are stocked, I'd be most grateful.
  48. Histoires Opera line now in standard bottles and dropped in price

So the fancy bottles and packaging have been ditched from the Opera line and the ridiculous prices have come down to earth (somewhat). Now retailing at 125 euro for 60 ml.

  50. Re: Goodbye Zeta (and other looming Tauer discontinuations)

  51. Re: Goodbye Zeta (and other looming Tauer discontinuations)

    But...
  52. Goodbye Zeta (and other looming Tauer discontinuations)
