My first was Rive Gauche by YSL(EdT?) I think the canister really attracted me initially, then I loved the scent. I was in junior high school. My mother was a perfume fan and great enabler. I think...
This thread has a list of suppliers.
I've purchased ingredients from Camden Grey, The Perfumer's Apprentice, Eden...
Feeling lemming-ish for Iris 39 now...hmmm. I love this thread WF!:D
F is for Féminité Du Bois by Serge Lutens
LOL!! It is amazing, isn't it?:2vrolijk_08:
PM me if it's still available, ok? Is it EdP?
I agree, it's beyond suspicious. I've been wearing #19 for years and this one is odd.
Omg, what if it's decent-to-great? lolz ...I'd actually get a kick out of the reveal. I'd have my iphone cam ready for the response!:>
I is for: Indian Nights by J.L. Scherrer
Gauloise (Molyneux), extrait under EdT.
LOL! Do you have a listing here or on Ebay?
Hi! I saw this listing today for Chanel No. 19 EdP. It's a bottle I haven't seen before(round gold cap, 125ml?!). Is this something new/unusual or could it be a fake?
I'll say 1st that I've tried sooo many different perfumes to break my vintage no. 19 addiction (Silences, Scherrer 1, Niki St. de Phalle, Givenchy 3, Private Collection, Vent Vert, Heure Exquise,...
I'm a no. 19(pre-reform.) fanatic too and I love Iris Silver Mist(Lutens). When I'm in the mood for something sweet then I go for Iris Poudre(Malle editions).
I liked Prada Inf. d'Iris okay but...
Noir Epices is the androgynous, hipster, younger sibling of Tabu.
Bandit and Cabochard seem like sisters.
I agree w/ darkdreams. The initial recipes were better so that's why we go for vintage or pre-reformulation versions. In one of my favorites to find, Chanel no. 19, usually the top notes are kind of...
For years, my cheapie favorite was Tabu but I think I OD'd on it. I still keep a mini around.
wow, I'm sorry to hear this. R.I.P.
I have some vintage edt..I definitely smell oakmoss. Overall it's relatively sweeter than the newer ones too. There's a green muskiness to it... I see a sexy librarian or professor:D
umm Iris Silver Mist??
+1 about Joy..does nothing for me. Major letdown.
I don't think that I'm a true hoarder but lately I've been buying much more than 'normal' because of the 'updates' (read: ruin) of some of my favorites. I'm not sure when stockpiling will change to...
Iris Silver Mist + vintage Chanel No. 19 EdT
Chanel's Cuir de Russie ~ I couldn't get around the hair product-ness of it. I reeeeeeally wanted to love it but it smelled like a pomade or hair oil.
Adding time travel machine to my list.
It's insane how some scents have been 'adjusted' and some flat out ruined over...
Vintage Guerlain Vetiver + Sephora Miel (Honey) Note Parfumee
I've never tried QF. Now my curiosity is piqued! Another to add to the list.
Ay, I'm running out of hoarding & hiding places (from dh). lol!
In Paris, I've actually seen older women touch a tiny bit of the perfume to the tip of their tongues at shops. I was shocked at first. Not sure if that's safe or what but I love that idea. I haven't...
IME, the older extrait (around 2002 and earlier?) smell different & better. I'm not sure how much is age (of the perfume) or reformulation.
I do find a huge obvious difference between...
Guerlain's Vetiver (old version)
S.Luten's Iris Silver Mist
