Re: Areej le Doré : The Official Discussion Thread

Ok everyone. So here's a follow up to my question about Russian Musk...

Does anyone know of any attars (or anything) that might approximate the vibe?

    TIA
  3. Re: Areej le Doré, Areej le Doré, Areej le Doré!!!!

annarmali, do you still have any Russian Musk available?

    Re: Long lasting

For me, almost anything Bruno Fazzolari and/or FZOTIC produce are long, long burners on me.

Some of the Tom Ford line also tend to last a long time for me, but are correspondingly dense.

Re: New Releases - Spring 2019

I just found this. For whatever reason BN search was behaving strangely. I saw you had listed it, but couldn't get to it!

In any case, I just stumbled across this in buying a bottle of Herb Man,...
  6. Re: Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

I am a-okay with the latter. I too assumed based on reviews that the grape soda was only in the top notes, which I kinda like. But smelling like it all day at work will make me pass it on.

Re: Areej le Doré : The Official Discussion Thread

So I'm an absolute neophyte when it comes to scents, but I have an old Luckyscent sample of Russian Musk laying round and decided to apply a small amount tonight after a post-workout shower.

  9. Re: Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

I have not. But I'm ok with the BB on this one. Should be able to recoup some funds if I don't like. Risk/Reward ratio works for me. But your comparison to Chez Bond is interesting. I haven't met a...
  10. Re: Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Well...hehe. It remains on my radar (the GV). We aren't quite as humid as you, but the concept of brutal heat is similar.
  11. Re: Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Dunhill gets the nod. But going to put the TF on my test list. Thank you all.
  12. Re: Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

Thanks for the responses so far!

I'm game for other suggestions as well, but there are already plenty of "favorite summer scents" threads.

I'm at the point where I'm adding Plum Japonais (not...
  13. Fragrance Battle: Dunhill Icon VS Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

I am looking for a summer scent that is casual, work friendly, but still might get the attention of my wife. :)

I am a fan of heavier scents, mostly.

My go tos for summer right now are Fougere...

  18. Re: [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

Thank you all for your recommendations. Have a bottle of Vetiver Geranium on the way, plus tests XS Pour Homme and Gentleman Secret forthcoming.

  19. Re: [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

Lol. I am certain that I mixed up Live Jazz with Martin Margiela's Jazz Club, which I saw mentioned in an entirely different thread. So I would definitely be in for a confusing "quick trip" to sample...
  20. Re: [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

    As a quick update...

Live Jazz is now on my radar. I believe I can sample it locally and will do so as soon as I can.

Gave Himalaya another wear yesterday. I really like the top notes....
  21. Re: [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

Hmm. Interesting. In reading the reviews, the multiple mentions of "powdery" are scaring me away. That is one smell I have yet to come to appreciate.
  22. Re: [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

Oh wow, TS. Did not realize I could do that here. I did it on Fragrantica. I really appreciate that!

And I keep coming across GPM. So yes, I think I will add it to my testlist here. And again,...

  29. [Recommendations] Same "vibe" as Platinum Egoiste?

  30. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

  31. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

  35. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

Nice! Sounds like you like it. And yeah. I find all Fazzolaris to be pretty off the charts on strength and longevity. And his per ounce pricing they well should be.
  36. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

  37. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

Wearing it yet again today. And that's the end of my sample.

Time to fork over some coin. I can't pay Bruno that much for the blanket, though. Even if it is pretty cool.

  42. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

  44. Re: Watson may replace Nagel and Wasser (Welcome to Machine)

  45. Re: Watson may replace Nagel and Wasser (Welcome to Machine)

We have proven that we *can* do a good job of self-correction in long play situations, but when that course is accelerated, it can become problematic. My concern is that by the time we realize there...

  47. Re: Watson may replace Nagel and Wasser (Welcome to Machine)

I think we are all basically saying the same thing.

But my question is...are sales the sole determinant for what is created to be saleable? At what point is the perfume data "breathing it's own...
  48. Re: Watson may replace Nagel and Wasser (Welcome to Machine)

  49. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

I had a love/hate reaction to Palo Santo Plateau. When I caught little "glimpses" of it, I really enjoyed it. It definitely has a very deep dry mountain woods feel to it. But in large whiffs and...
  50. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

I am wearing this again today. Kept thinking about it.

Enjoying more each time I smell it. My wallet is giving me mal ojo. I think I'm going to have to get a bottle.
  51. Re: Watson may replace Nagel and Wasser

A little more detail about it here today:

This kind of stuff is both fascinating and disheartening for me. As my handle reflects.
  52. Re: Aoud Rose Fragrances - Which Are The Best ?

It is mindblowing to me that there are this many scents that evoke that part of the U.S.

    Having trouble keeping up.

Either way, I will update everyone as I start to get in samples and try them....
  56. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

edit: Grain of salt caveat here...I haven't been in this hobby for long.

I'd say it's squarely unisex. The "tingly" vetiver part pushes through from time to time and feels "masculine" to me. But...
  57. Re: Bruno Fazzolari update: Vetiverissimo + website and/or brand (?) revamp

Wearing this today. Still trying to feel it out.

Definitely feel like there's some Fazzolari base in it. A semi-sweet green. I can't tell yet whether I like it, but it is definitely quality.
  58. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

More to ponder now. Really appreciate it.

edit: That Piñon Aftershave is calling to me. Lol.
  60. Re: Suggestions on a "Southwestern" (US) Scent?

Wow. This really does sound like it. Some of the negative reviews definitely making me question whether I want to try it, but it does sound close, if not as light as I'm looking for. Nice...
