pm'd you for Sandalo
Please add me for 10mL of Eva Kant
Terrific. One of my favorite summer scents.
Interesting. who is the perfumer?
Yuk, they mostly smell of glue.
Edit: this thread has to be a gag, and a pretty good one it is!
To expand the original post just a bit, what size(s) wine coolers work well for a fragrance collection? For a couple hundred bottles, for example, what would be an appropriate size?
And is there a...
Ashoka was one of my favorite releases in 2013 and was in my rotation for early spring this year. I'll have to pick it up again now, at your suggestion.
I get sweet, fruity notes (osmanthus?),...
Sounds terrific. I picked up a decant a year ago, and put it away for Spring. And of course, when I went to try it in March, the decant had vanished! Have to track down another decant, as the...
The 3 new Papillons, and SH Pear+Olive EdP
Both scents onto my Try List!
thanks. Loved the original. Will look for this new one, when it gets here.
thanks for the explanation DI
Looks like Luckyscent now has the new stock, including the new-ish P+O. I notice they list Zdravets (geranium), as the first note. I never noticed geranium in P+O,...
What he said.
And I would add a third and fourth...La Via del Profumo's Tabac, and Chillum from the same house, both of which feature dry tobacco without sweetener.
Anyone tried the new spin on pear+olive? How bout the new Jeke? same as the extrait or??
Profumum Rosae Mundi
Diptyque L'ombre Dans L'eau EdP
Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin
Sonoma Scent Studios Velvet Rose
Mona di Orio Rose Etoile de Hollande
Rose + other...
I've been interested in garden fragrance for my entire adult life. Wearable fragrance? that comes from my daughter, who is a Chanel SA.
For the Heeleys I know, Sel Marin, Iris de Nuit, and Cuir Pleine Fleur, I agree that projection is low (not a bad thing, for me; ymmv), but do not agree about longevity. All 3 go at least 8 hours for...
I've tried 2 of the 3 (not Tobacco Rose). Anubis and Angelique are both fine fragrances of which I will almost certainly buy bottles. Angelique=iris+gaiac+mimosa+incense.. Leans a bit sweet, but is...
I am also new to SoTD, only since December, but since then, its Slumberhouse Mare, F Malle Dans Tes Bras and L'Artisan Iris Pallida ftw.
can not wait!
I'd go for a "cloche" of Lutens' Iris Silver Mist, DeProfundis, El Attarine or Tub. Criminelle
Or a bottle of Frederic Malle's Le Parfum de Therese or Dries Van Noten
After a long search, I landed a bit (15 mL, probably will outlive me) of SH Rume, and man o man is it good! You all knew this, but I have been way behind the curve on this one, and others. I am...
hahahaha! typical 8-sprays minimum BN'er
thanks for the tip! Profumo's fragrances are terrific. Folks who haven't tried them should make a point to do so--and this giveaway is a great opportunity.
For a straight up rose, Lutens Fille de Berlin is very good and fairly priced.
Somewhere upstream DI responded to that one saying SH was trying to get away from labeling or promoting concentration.
So I think the answer is, 'not given'
That does sound interesting
Amouage Memoir Man, ELDO Eloge du Traitre and Fou d'Absinthe are all good, interesting and different from each other.
Whats the longevity like gang? projection?
Can't wait to try Sadanne
It's an interesting sent, but not in my opinion close to being an office sent. Unless your office is very well ventilated.
Has this scent hit the interwebs yet? Or just and exclusive in Portland for now?
In alpha order
House of Matriarch Blackbird
Profvmvm Roma Olibanum
Serge Lutens Serge Noire
Slumberhouse Vikt extrait
Tauer Perfumes Incense Extreme
Tom Ford Sahara Noir
If you are looking for pure bonfire smoke, or forest fire!, the older EdP version of Jeke is your ticket. In the extrait, the smoke is there, but welll mixed with resins, leather, booze and a green...
Right, and Parfum1 confirmed to me this morning that they are carrying the line still. Although their stocks are depleted at the moment, they are just waiting for the new things to arrive in a week...
Same here. No affiliation. Just lots of good will with that group.
Top 3 for me are:
Good Lord...Stuff like this totally rubs me the wrong way. pass
Yup, both are terrific
I see. I asked because I really like the way the 2013 extraits wore. Hope that he isn't moving away from that. But, we shall see.
Is this an extrait, or an EdP?
Yes! Looking forward to it!
Slumberhouse Zahd and SHL777 Qom Chillom both feature cherry.
Made me really hungry
Well, the monthly flights to Paris part sounds nice
Good grief, I have to get busy sampling. I haven't tried most listed above
I am a big fan of lavender fragrances generally and Kiki VDE in particular. It is at the very top of my list!
That is a very good and helpful review. thank you
Yeah, its a pretty good line. Some run a bit sweet for me, but I've found several I like
Is it just a longer version of the original? or do you sense other notes in this one that don't appear in the original?
With more than half of 2014 now behind us, what have been your favorite new releases of the year, so far?
Mine have been
Vero Profumo Rozy Voile d’Extrait
LM Parfums Hard...
Well, ELDO Fils de Dieu should be one of your Phillipines Phive! It combines elements of cologne zippiness with mint, coconut and oriental spice, performs great in heat and humidity and lasts all...
Will the OP kindly contact me ASAP about my purchase Monday morning of Dans Tes Bras. Its been 4 days, you were paid but have not confirmed shipment and indeed, are not responding to messages at all....
Doesn't the Profumum run pretty sweet?
MR by far.
Eau de Guerlain
Iris Silver Mist
Try Profumum Olibanum.
And HOM Devotion.
Yup, they both have a very similar note or accord in the base. They have their differences of course. MI has the salty melon thing, while GIT has the prominent violet leaf.
Why not ask your friends what they want you to wear?
Or, simply try a sample and make up your own mind?
In addition to New York, Vanille Tonka is worth a try for a not-sweet vanilla.
PdN's range of summer colognes has some nice little gems too, including Cologne Sologne, L'eau Chic and Eau Soleil.
Only tried one, Nirmal, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Annick Goutal Eau du Sud fits your description
I tried Lumiere Blanche several times, was initially unimpressed but have come around to it. It is light in the projection department, no doubt, but that can be a desirable trait, shared by some...
Agree with you about Devotion (and Blackbird, of course). Its terrific.
I like them both, but prefer the Montecristo. I also am not big on animalics for their own sake, they can be off-putting; but the animalic notes are so well blended in MC, with so many other...
sounds interesting; must try!
Hi Donald, I will take 20 of Tirrenico!
Hi Remik, I'll take the last 10 of the Turtle Vetiver Back
Guerlain Eau de Guerlain
In before someone else mentions Dior Eau Sauvage EdT!
Its near the top of every Top 10 list I ever made, and you can get it for about $1/mL, or less, in 30 50 or 100mL bottles
I wear and like them both a lot. But they are variations on the same theme. And neither is ground breaking in any sense. Sartorial is very reasonably priced, so if you like the genre, go for it.
Anyone know, does Hindu Kush have real oakmoss? I ask, not because I am allergic and want to avoid, but for the opposite reason. I am not allergic to my knowledge and would like to enjoy real...
Strifeknot is splitting Chillum!?!
PSA--StC has Iunx L'Arbre back in stock!
PS, I notice that L'Arbre does not have an entry in the BN Directory. How does that happen?
One of my favorites from this line. I have a half bottle left. yeesh
Great suggestion. Its a terrific scent
What he said
Like It, don't Love It. That's how I pigeon holed it. If you are on the fence, you did too.
Give the L'Artisan a shot. Fou d'Absinthe. And also Slumberhouse Vikt, which has the absinthe and oud.
If they are not mentholated enough for you, you might have to layer in an oud scent.
big preference for Ore over LIDGE.
hahaha! didn't read past the first line! (although I will)
On my try list, but where the heck do you try it?
Nice list of notes! Can't wait to try it.
Are samples of this line available?
This post inspired me to wear Guerlain Vetiver Eau Glacée today. what a terrific scent!!
I ordered a decant a month ago! On paper, it should be terrific!
Egads, that might be the dopiest post I've read here, ever. Is your edit button working?
If the vintage ES doesn't last for you, try Eau du Sud.
mark me down in the Jack Nicolson group.
What are the four? UFdCassie? and ....
Recent mention of Pear+Olive in this thread, plus the arrival of near perfect midsummer (I know, its not yet midsummer) conditions in my area this Memorial Day, have prompted me to don P+O extrait as...
I believe if I had a recent listing I would realist it. now
I'm not getting daily Saved Search emails from eBay, since the hacking was announced. (I did reset my password) Anyone else having this issue?
I'm with you. Vikt extrait is my favorite Slumberhouse. It doesn't project much at all, but is tenacious.
I sure hope so, Danieq. Mare is a wonderful Spring scent.
Howdy. Philly lawyer here, ex of NYC.
First, I never wear fragrances at Court, at deposition or in client meetings. Never. I know lawyers who do, but I think that is a mistake.
On days when it...
Is your argument that Chanel No5 cannot smell different on two different skins, because then it would not be Chanel No.5? Is that it? There's something missing in this argument. Something important....
