    Royal Aoud is great (you might want to try it) but out of your list of the ones you're debating on, I would suggest Aoud Lime...not too sweet but distinctly different from Black aoud.

    I don't have huge longevity issues with Himalaya...at least no more than with most of my fragrances. Have you tried applying it in a variety of ways per the "Secret of Sillage" thread?

    Oh, yea, blades are pretty important...I use Merkurs, but Derby blades get a lot of love. I wouldn't recommend starting with a Feather blade since they are supposed to be the sharpest.

    I've tried quite a few different aouds from Montale and Black Aoud is still the winner for me. Longevity is the greatest, it projects like no other and the drydown is fantastic.

    Well, they are must tries....I've tried them all except Vintage Tabarome and I like BdP the most...BdG and REL are okay, but not must haves for me....I would definitely recommend testing them first....

    Top notes disappear whilst basenotes stay longer. By the end of the day, basenotes are what people are smelling.
