    You might be right about all that. I sometimes think Shalimar is at that as the end of the masculine and at the beginning of the feminine tradition of perfumes in the gender spectrum.

    I certainly don't think it's as good as some reviewers make out (Luca Turin in particular). It's a basic 90% vetiver fragrance to my nose - not much complexity...and vetiver is a love/hate smell....
