    I find that Turin isn't always able to pick up on soapy drydowns - I learned this after his review a long time ago about Eau de Guerlain. I found the drydown musks to be so soapy. Then I fell for it...

    I find the only thing that dates NN is the 80s musks that are used. Galop is like a watered-down, subdued, updated Nombre Noire. Both have that fruity note that can veer juicy or overripe.

    I agree with the person above who suggested Fat Electrician - nothing is like Sycomore, but if you're looking for a "warm" vetiver, as opposed to something fresh, it's a good option.

    Twilly is great. Avoid the new flanker. I only went with the small bottle for Twilly because I find the 'tube hard to wear.

    I also had a bad experience with Fate - except the women's. Luca Turin praised it so highly, and most online reviews were glowing - to me it smelled of a bad Opium knockoff.
