Re: You can now 'Thank' users for their post

Thanks for clearing that up, Dr_Rudi. :)
  2. Re: Identifying Individual Notes: A call for help from a beginner

I'll second the recommendation for Eden Botanicals and their lovely Indian sandalwood. They also sent me a sample of Sri Lankan vetiver. I'd forgotten about their amber essay and samples - guess I...

Re: I've found my holy grail but

Wow is right. :) And you mixed it up at work? Makes me now want to place an order and mix some up.
  7. Re: My cat doesn't love me anymore. Is it my newly found perfume mania?

I hope your kitty comes around to your new-found love of scent. Maybe he just needs to get used to all the new fragrances. I would advise against spraying any on the cat, however. They tend to be...

    Re: Help needed!!

Orange blossom is a white floral. It doesn't smell like the citrus fruit at all. I had a friend who blindly ordered a scent that had orange blossom in the name thinking it would smell of the fruit...

    Re: First compliment ever

That's wonderful! I never get compliments, either, except from my husband. Well, and the one time from my mom over Fumerie Turque of all things. I bet other people liked your scents, too, and were...

    Re: Help needed!!

I would say that the Lutens and L'Artisan offerings are orange blossom - a floral scent - rather than citrus (fruit). Although, I think the L'Artisan is one of the most gorgeous orange blossom...
  11. Re: Identifying Individual Notes: A call for help from a beginner

One thing that makes it a little tricky is that each note has variations - patchouli or amber for instance, some are sweeter, some are drier, some powdery, etc. - which can sometimes make sniffing it...
  12. Re: La Maison de la Vanille: Any love? Van Sauvage vs. Van Noire du Mexique--which?

My favorite from the line is Vanille Givree des Antilles. Not fruity or floral at all on me and dries down to a nice vanilla/patchouli blend. I find it calming, actually. :) It was a tossup for me...

Re: When you buy a fragrance..

If a fragrance is on the lighter side and I know I'll be spritzing on a lot of it, I'll buy a larger bottle. If it's particularly potent, I'll generally try to find a smaller size bottle. There are...

Re: You can now 'Thank' users for their post

I might be missing something obvious, but I don't see a "Thank" button anywhere. Not that it matters too much, since I generally post thanks on my own. :)

    Re: Your summer rotation :-)

    Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley
    Annick Goutal Les Nuits d'Hadrien
    Creed Royal Water

Those for running around during the day when it's super hot, if I decide to wear fragrance at all.

    Re: Do you wear perfume to bed ! ! ! ! !

I almost always put on something for bed. Lately it has been Penhaligon's Artemisia. Last summer it was Laila. I mostly go with whatever happens to strike my fancy at the time.

  19. Re: I ADORE [frag], [person] abhor it, or your first ticket from the perfume police

My husband and I love patchouli (haha, I know) and I was once accused of smelling like mold by my choir director and aunt. They kept sniffing around the area I was standing and looking around for...

Re: Do you keep your boxes?

If the bottle came in a box I keep it in there. I don't have drawers to keep them in, so the box helps protect the bottle from light. I usually like the boxes just as well as the bottles anyway.

Hello, everyone! I've been chasing scents for about 7 years now. I've stumbled across this site several times and never realized how extensive it is. I thought there were only reviews. I just...
