Chergui is amazing and I am totally in love with that fragrance and your friend will be as well.
Micallef Gaiac is bananas!
I absolutely love this scent on others unfortunately it turns kind of potpourrish on my skin.
Green Irish Tweed
i am not crazy about GPHii because it turns to a pickle juice type of vibe on my skin. Totally disgusting on me. It gets lots of love around here... Really isn't much reason for it IMO but opinions...
Narcisso Rodriguez for Him
This is one of the few designer scents that not only do I own a full bottle of but I will be repurchasing when I run out. I absolutely love this stuff. This is melancholy in a bottle for the...
Neither, if you are looking for a Dior Homme that is masculine, go with the Dior Homme Parfum. It has a really nice leather in the base. Fantastic fragrance IMO.
I have quite a while ago and I remember not being fond of it. I think I might revisit that one soon.
What is up? I have been away from the forums as of late because I have been experiencing a dry spell when it comes to getting excited about new fragrances that I hadn't yet gotten my nose on. I...
If your fiancee doesn't have a favorite I would say Creed Spice and Wood.
I enjoy it and while I think it is well worth the price I do not think it is worth the hype!. I own and adore Pure Malt, this will be a staple in my collection for years to come. However, Pure...
1899 Hemmingway by HDP.
I just reordered this from the Mugler site and it is designer heaven in a bottle!
Look at my signature. You should be able to get some really good ideas there.
Roadster, Menthe Freiche and Geranium por Monsieur.
I absolutely love the scent and I will be picking up a full bottle very soon.
Vanille Absolutment by L'artisan.
I have torn through three bottles of the stuff back in the day. I slept on the availabiltiy on Fragrancenet and now since they are sold out I finally ordered it from the Mugler website. This will...
Ugh... Epic man being reformulated really breaks my heart.
If you choose DHI you will not be disappointed.
I don't find them to be the same either. I own decants of both and I greatly prefer the Bruckner over the Osswald. The Osswald has this underlying tonka vibe to it that isn't in the Bruckner. I...
Lmfao! I can relate to the drinks too much.
I just recently picked up a split of No.1 by Osswald which is supposed to be the American release of Parfumerie Bruckners Aoud 1. I gotta tell you these fragrances are very different IMO. I own a...
Serge Lutens 5 o'clock eau Gingembre if I had a gun to my head....
1. Creed Spice and Wood
2. Amouage Epic Man
3. Guerlain Tonka Imperiale
4. Tom Ford Noir de Noir
5. Parfumerie Bruckner Oud 1
Serge Lutens 5 o'clock eau Gingembre.
I think you can go either way with this one. I would think that you will get better results with Japon Noir in the warmer weather while Plum Japonais will probably be too cloying for hot and humid...
Avignon is my favorite incense fragrance period. However, if I had to choose from your list I would choose Sahara Noir and Liquid Night.
You cannot go wrong with Millesime Imperiale, Allure Homme Sport or Aqua Universalis.
I might be so inclined to agree with you but I won't. However, even though Aventus gets tons of compliments I think it is ridiculously over-hyped. Aventus is my fourth favorite Creed behind Spice...
I have been revisiting my Aoud 1 sample and it is fantastic. When I first got in on a split of this I was underwhelmed by its performance. I have to say I have put quite a dent in my decant. This...
5 o'clock, Cedre and Chene would be my recommendations. I would also like to add Fumerie Turque if you can get your nose on it.
Am I the only one who sees the comparison with Uden?
While I agree with you on most of your takes on these fragrances, I would have switched the grades of Nio and Uden. Yes, I do get a Chanel Allure Homme vibe from Uden but it is much richer and has...
I would have a very hard time since my top ten is constantly changing but I would have to base it off of occasion.
My suit and tie scent would have to be Spice and Wood, my daily scent would be...
This ^^^ and Narciso Rodriguez for him.
Those would be my picks but I would have went with Ambre Sultan instead of Cedre.
Damn... you guys are basically split down the middle. How about a little bit more help here?
Hello all, I am looking for your input yet again. I just recently sampled Tom Ford Tobacco Oud and I am really digging this one. I had a decant of Amber Absolute but it was a little too nuclear in...
Nobody has an experience with these two fragrances?
Thanks for the response but I have an opportunity to pick up a 5ml decant just for reference. Should I pull the trigger?
Hello fellow Basenoters, I am looking for your help yet again. I currently own 20ml or so Plum Japonais and I have heard that there were some comparisons between this one and Bond no.9's Andy...
Longevity on this one is pretty good but I have found myself sometimes anosmic to the scent while others can smell it on me hours later.
I usually do 4 sprays on this one.
Am I the only one that gets a Derby vibe?
I, too was not a fan of Pulp. I had tried this on two different occasions and I didn't like it at all. There was this underlying rotten smell when mixed with my skin chemistry. I just ordered a...
I own a decant of this one and sadly I can only see myself wearing this in the scorching heat since the longevity and projection are terrible on my skin. I was really looking forward to this one and...
They are very different but if I had to pick only one I would be hard pressed not to choose the ADP. It is a very interesting mix of citrus and oud. If you are a fan of the less in your face oud...
I got 5ml of each of these coming and I am really looking forward to these especially Imperial Tea.
I am loving Apple Brandy, I just wish it was giving me more performance.
I wear own 4 pairs of Levi's and I chose GIT, go figure...
I would go with Oud Wood.
Memoir Man by Amouage is an amazing fragrance that is one of the most complex and brooding fragrances that I have ever had the privilege of getting my nose on.
and Vetiver 46.
For the last three days I have been going with Herod and all I can say is wow!
I would probably go with Windsor.
Even though I am not completely sold on MI, GIT and Aventus are two of the best fragrances money can buy IMO.
MDO I would go with Vetiver, Serge Lutens I would go with Chergui or Fumerie Turque, Frederic Malle my beloved Musc Ravageur and Amouage gets Memoir Man.
I actually enjoy BDP quite a bit. I think if given the chance you will be blown away by Spice and Wood, which I consider to be a masterpiece.
New Haarlem and take a look at my top ten. Ambre Narguille, Pure Malt and 1270 are really good too.
Of the two I would go with Platinum Egoiste.
GIT and Aventus are two excellent choices IMO.
I would go with LDDM as a great starting point that you definitely will not be disappointed in.
I agree, Chergui is another scent like Back to Black that if you overspray it becomes way too heavy on the powder that every one keeps talking about. I owned and loved Back to Black twice but I just...
MI projects and last longer on my skin.
Tonka Imperiale is amazing and I miss it!
add L'Humaniste and his list can't get any better!
Dude... Am I the only one that gets a caramel apple out of this one? All of this love for Ambre Narguille yet everyone seems to be at best indifferent with this scent. I love this from sampling on...
Way too many to mention but I would have to derail the hype trains that are TDH, LIDGE and Egoiste to start with. I know, I know the beloved Egoiste, it just has this sour note that turns my stomach.
I recently picked a decant of Ore extrait and this has catapulted into my top ten, as always thank you.
Uden reminds me quite a bit of Allure Homme from Chanel. Allure Homme smells a little more synthetic but it can easily be a much cheaper alternative.
I thought it was a good fragrance but it lacked that wow factor. It sounds like you may like Norne from the Slumberhouse line.
Thanks, I already swapped off my sample of it. Wasn't really to my liking at all. However, I absolutely adore Santal Noble but does anyone else has longevity and projection problems with this one...
I feel the same way about most pepper based scents with the exception of Honour Man which I find absolutely stunning!
I agree whole heartedly. Certain scents less is really more and this is definitely one of them.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on Herod by Parfums de Marly. Now, I don't buy into the hype train that occurs with a lot of the more mainstream type of niche fragrances but this one has...
1740,1725 and 1899 are all at least decant worthy. Ambre 114 is my go to amber that I don't think will ever be without.
Idole Lubin and Silver Factory are two scents that are very similar and you should really like.
It is a very big crowd pleaser so as long as you don't overspray. Three tops with this one. I cannot even believe I said only three sprays!
Yes, I did. I have a really bad cold so I can't smell anything right now so I can't revisit it really. With the initial impression I wasn't very wowed by it. Have you tried this?
I really like Sahara Noir but I love Avignon.
I would say go for Dior Homme and welcome.
As an oversprayer it broke my heart to get rid of my 1861!
Really want to sample some of this line.
Sucks, you only came away with a couple of winners. One piece of advice about Interlude though is to spray away from the front of your neck and you will leave an amazing scent trail that will...
I actually am quite fond of it. However, I don't think I will ever pick up a bottle. This fragrance is most closely associated with that douchey type of arrogant clean cut pretty boy who can't take...
I was at a strip club last Thursday and a Japanese stripper licked my neck and told me I smelled really really good while I was wearing this scent. Needless to say stripper or no stripper this is in...
I love Bois d'argent! This one is a definite keeper! Just like how Buysblind said you have to go heavy with the sprayer. When I did? Wow! This one is getting added to my rotation, thanks bro. I...
That's not heavy at all!
Bruckner Aoud by M. Micallef if I am ever lucky enough to get my nose on. I am also looking for Andy Warhol by Bond No. 9 and last but certainly not least Pardon by Nassomatto.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. Royal Oud will definitely be more wearable and recieve more compliments from the average nose that we encounter on a daily basis. While Memoir Man will...
Just got the second part of my haul and I am really liking Aqua Universalis for a work type summer scent. I am also really enjoying Memoir Man quite a bit more than I remembered. While I do...
