Re: Chanel Allure and Allure Sensuelle

    Hi Primrose,

It has be ages (and I mean ages) since I smelled Allure, so cannot comment on it, but Allure S. is also very sweet, IMO.

I find AS very beautiful in that ethereal Chanel sort of...
  3. Re: "1000" de Jean Patou reformulated: your opinion.

    Hi,

Just checked JeanPatou.com and it is the same as it has been for the past few years. Lists JOY, Sublime, 1000 and Sira.

Even better, though, check this out:

  4. Re: Delicate, complex, sophisticated...your opinions, please

I am wearing Cristalle EdP today and I find it crisp, not sweet and it lasts most of the day on me.

I believe the EdT is even crisper. Worth giving both a try. I do prefer the EdP because I...

    Re: Indolic, dark jasmine!

Acaciosa is an excellent choice! I'm wearing it today because of this thread.

I want to add that I recently discovered Nuda by Nasomatto thanks to a friend who has sent me a couple of samples. ...
  9. Re: HELP! I need a sexy white musk that will have men wishing they could devour my neck!

Chanel's Eau Premiere deserves a try. A fresh and modern rendition of Chanel No.5 with a nice lemon on top and some serious white musks on the bottom.

Re: The elusive Chanel no. 9

Can someone describe how it smelled, I'm very curious.

Also, is there a list of notes to be found?

    Thanks

    Re: Mature Florals

    So many good suggestions!

Une Fleur de Cassie is my first choice; however, not bitchy, IMO, it is mysterious.

    Patou's 1000 - bitchy and everything else you've described!

    Re: Aldehydes "pour moi"?

I think that Chanel does the best aldehydes.

However, Liu by Guerlain is quite a beautiful aldehydic floral as is Vega.

How about Chanel's Eau Premiere. I get a very lemony opening and the rest is blended florals and musk.

    Re: Lilies in Fragrance.

Annick Goutal's Grand Amour is lily- based. Wonderful fragrance, I especially like it in the cream.

To be clear, not lily-of-the-valley, but lily.
  17. Re: Are SCHERRER and JEAN-LOUIS SCHERRER (1979) the same fragrance?

I believe they are the same, also. A beautiful fragrance. There is also, Scherrer II which has a warmer more amber-like feel and equally as compelling. Ebay has both, last I looked (only a couple...

    Re: Ambery florals?

Now, I have never tried Tolu by Ormande Jayne, but I've read raves about it as an amber fragrance. Maybe...

Re: Does Chanel no 19. work also on men?

Malle's Cassie is my favorite modern fragrance. I am of the camp that does not find it fleeting and am grateful for it.
Nothing, and I mean, nothing like it in the fragrance world of today.
