Spray into the space in front of you, and step through. You don't really want it in areas that get really hot because once you've worked up a sweat it reeeaaally travels. I also spray in spots away...
The carrying agent is different. My favorutie rendition of Narciso Rodriguez for Her is the rollerball EDT. NOT the EDT spray, not the EDP spray, but the rollerball version.
Reasearch show that humans are happier when presented with fewer choice (2-3).
I always want more but I feel pressure to sell and downsize at about 20 bottles. The pressure is huge and stresses me out but every month I find something new I want to buy!
More more more! Keep posting, I love reading about Caron fragrances. There is ONE STORE where I live that carries maybe 3 of Caron's fragrances. No samplers.
Bandit was my answer as well.
Contrary to the above, I think Jeke fits what you're looking for absolutely. Huge smoke, artistic, autumn scent.
Hahahahah!! What a bummer!
Now I gotta check this scent out.
You weren't lying when you said you were still in school.
Black Friday purchases:
Slumberhouse Jeke and Norne. I'm wearing my Jeke sample as my SOTD.
Ah, I missed the fine print on their FB page.
"TODAY is BLACK FRIDAY!!!
Fragrances are 20% off site wide. (A couple of exceptions apply.)
Use coupon code "cedar" at checkout.
These deals will apply through Monday, December 2. A lot of great deals to be had as a lot of niche fragrances never go on sale.
EDIT: And only 2 bottles of SOVA left.
I purchased Jeke with Slumberhouse's Black Friday sale, and also missed out on Norne. I didn't really have a need for Norne right away (as it's not my favourite) but hearing about the bottle change...
Annnnd I just pulled the trigger on Jeke. I wish Norne was still in stock.
Seriously just get your friend to buy and ship it to you. You pay your friend. Boom.
I own Coromandel! You know what, it took me about 6 months to warm up to Coromandel. NSTPerfume blog described it as "matronly". I couldn't form an opinion at first, but now it smells very luxe to me...
Bad patchouli to me is patchouli with armpit, hahaha.
Usually a combination of BO and patchouli oils.
God damn I love Shalimar. Hands down one of the best fragrances ever made.
With that said, my first reaction to it was not positive.
It smelled like old grandmas and second hand stores.
I think Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau is extremely sweet and dessert-like, which to me is not bread. L'Artisan Bois Farine gets my vote.
Hi. I totally know what you mean. When comparing numbers, I am nowhere near as much in bottles per year compared to you but the effects are the same. It's the chase, then splurging, the waiting (for...
I'm a fan of 80's powerhouses. So crazy and yet so accepted back then.
I just bought 1932 by Chanel because it was a good deal. I have a sample of it from a while back and remembering it felt like the cousin of Coromandel,...
Angela of NSTP once said, "Say 'classic Chanel' to perfume lovers, and likely they envision a greyhound of a fragrance — aldehydic, elegant and restrained." and I agree.
I looooove TABU. I have a vintage EDT and it is one that I will always have in my wardrobe. To me, it is equal all the current niche fragrances when it comes to originality and quality. Just love it.
Testing my blind buy: L'Artisan Dzongkha
After trying it in both hot and cold weather, and I still don't love it, I sell it. That happened with Serge Lutens Chergui, Bvlgari Black, and ALMOST Chanel Coromandel. It took me 6 months for that...
I got these three on a buy two get one free deal:
L'artisan Parfumeur Dzing!
L'artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu
L'artisan Parfumeur Dzongkha
Whoa what. Fragrancenet has been my go to for a lot of my orders. I hope they come back soon. Maybe they'll lower the shipping price? Hahaha, one can dream.
My SO always complments me when I'm wearing Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. I get a lot of compliments with Montale Jasmin Full from other guys as well.
There is no "Better", just preferences.
The 80's? It was my dad's 80's early 90's scent. Huge, powerful, and strong.
I'd worry about sun exposure 100x before I start to worry about wearing fragrances.
Polo Green for SURE.
But here are a couple reviews on it from Fragrantica by some dudes:
"After trying a few days of Memoir Man I moved onto Memoir Woman.
I was going to say Antaeus as well.
They burn my nose too! With the exception of Pleasures. My mom wears Pleasures and it's a nice scent.
I was in a thread where many gents prefer Memoir Woman over Memoir Man. I'm sure you can pull it off :)
I find Sycomore long lasting...but I wouldn't call it a beast. It's too fine to be a beast :D
L'Artisan Parfumeur Tea for Two. I haven't worn this one in a long time and MMMMMM is it...
Best place to get Edition Blanche? Or is this one of those fragrances that you just suck it up and buy at the Chanel counter?
Probably something really generic. They all look the same...
Don't worry, I don't smell the pineapple either. Move on to other fragrances, yay!
I hugged a colleague, and reeeeaaaally liked what he was wearing. It was L'homme. It was great on him. I tried it on a strip of paper at the counter a few months later and this one is definitely one...
A sample of Diptyque Volutes today! Comforting on a cool grey day.
A friend gifted me a sample of Hermes Vanille Galante so that'[s what I'm wearing today. Very unexpected!
Caron may not be niche but they sure are niche quality.
Jeke from Slumberhouse!!
Norne smells more like live trees versus Jeke which smells of firewood.
It is for me. I cannot in good conscience keep buying more without guilt if I am not finishing the bottles that I buy.
I'm going to bed with L'Artisan's Tea for Two! I'm have 90% left of my 100mL and I'm already wondering if I should seek out another bottle.
I've never smelled this one but from reviews, Guerlain's Tonka Imperiale fits your description.
Quote from NSTPerfume:
"Tonka Impériale starts quite boozy and rather rich, and for a moment, I...
It gets a big NO from me, out of respect for the other attendees who also paid money to be there.
Not NoirDrakkar, but I personally don't mind reapplying because there is no way in hell that I'm ever going to finish my bottles otherwise.
Ah, an antique.
I've never hit a hobby/passion so hard. It was balls to the walls I NEED everything right now! kind of love affair. It's becoming a true problem (when I say problem, I mean I am racking up my credit...
Bvulgari Black. I haven't made up my mind about this fragrance yet.
Turin and Sanchez said that Chergui fits that image, and I totally do not agree!
I don't like to equate Flowers to Femininity but a lot of people do, unfortunately.
The original Narcisse Noir. And then I want to sample Nombre Noir.
Cuir de Russie on my arms and Miss Dior Cherie on my chest.
It looks to be a tester. I've seen a few Shalimars in that bottle and they are often labeled as a tester. I may be wrong, however.
Today I blind-bought Bvlgari Black.
I might go sniffing later on so I haven't put on anything...
If I end up staying home I will probably wear Chanel Cuir de Russie.
I haven't smelled Joy but I prefer Shalimar to LHB.
I care for my fragrances for sure. I enjoy the collecting aspect and picking out what to wear for the day.
I started the day with Frederic Malle's Un Rose and am ending the day with Dior Poison.
Going to bed with Musc Ravageur.
Yeah, forget about the perfume. Just give me the pie!
Actually this thread has made me want to revisit Hermessence Ambre Narguile.
CB I hate Perfume Black march today!
Amazing! Thank you for the link.
Whether a fragrance is more for 'night time' than day is a personal opinion.
You can find Serge Lutens for $73+ which is cheaper than some designers.
Today is my decant of Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. Really love falling asleep to this!
$600 since Feburary 1 this year.
Serge Lutens Un Lys.
http://theshapeofamother.com/ and http://www.mybodygallery.com/ what what!
I don't visit the Male Fragrance section much anymore due to the same reasons. The rest of Basenote is still fun and there are lots to explore! Try out some blogs, too.
Hahahah!!!! This had me laughing, because it is all true.
I never liked Dove's viral video even when it first came out. It seemed really insincere and tried really hard to be on the 'good' side of...
Yeah, I mean if I'm not going to get enough likes on Facebook, I won't purchase it!
Just kidding. I meant Full-Bottle worthy. I sample a lot, but only few are full bottle purchase worthy.
30 roses, if you want to see photoshopping, check out this link: http://nienna1990.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=%2Fflash%2F
Click in, and hover over the image to see the after.
Sampling is awesome. So many frangrances on here just sound like something I would absolutely LOVE. I write all the interesting ones down and I start sampling. Only about 1/20 are FB worthy for me,...
Chanel Cuir de Russie?
I think that it is perfectly plausible to have a versatile wardrobe at under 50. I started out wanting no more than 12 bottles, but when I made a list of all the ones I wanted to do a FB purchase,...
Serge Lutens Chergui
The fuss is just hype. In the end, perfume is such a subjective thing. One doesn't work for everybody.
Vintage Dana Tabu. It was a blind buy and an awesome one.
To me, they are similar in the sense that they are all very STRONG. One spray and its presence is known. My uncle only wears power houses like Antaeus and the original Polo green.
Well, I'm not surprised. Gay men like men! Why would they go for girly smelling things if they prefer MEN and masculinity?
Cacio, does the "bringing perfumes back up to spec" include fracas?
Only thing I can think of is...
Ever been on a crowded bus in the middle of summer and SOMEONE on the bus is choking everyone out with their thick and heavy perfume? Don't be that guy.
Some off the top of my head...
Marc Jacobs Lola
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
Stella McCartney Stella
Chloe See by Chloe
Theirry Mugler Angel
Dior Miss Dior Cherie
I started out searching for my signature scent. The holy grail. The process of this journey is so fun, however, that I'm taking my sweet-ass time sniffing, testing, and buying. I have a feeling that...
Gifts certainly count in my books!
That sounds fantastic! Enjoy!
I was browsing some sold antiques and came across this:
Gas Station Perfumatic Machine Coin Op
Coin Operated Pink metal machine that dispenses Perfume....
Miss Dior Cherie or Tobacco Vanille.
Creed and Bond No. 9. It's silly to pay full retail price for these.
