Some stuff I used to wear in the late 70's / 80's (90's)and were considered powerfull....
Jil Sander Pure Men Original
Jean Patou PH
Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme
Double this, maybe add Millionaire by Mennen for that additional cheap edge
PATOU PRIVE - FRIDAY!!
I must say I got a sample of this stuff months ago and was dissapointed; if you got the funds and brand behind you, why not go for something more opulent and memorable, like the old classics??
I interview a lot of people, I say do not wear any.. but maybe I'm buyist because I'm sick of people wearing modern, meaningless aquatics.. if any something simple, as per recommendations by our...
2. Rive Gauche
I got both, plenty of it, put they are both very different, I prefer PH, however prive is more wearable if you like, less opulent.
At first it was hard to get Patou PH, but it now seems that prive...
VERSACE VERSUS UOMO CLASSIC
I love it too: I get great reactions, most of the time their is a pause, followed by; that's nice, what is it? Keep in mind that the average age of my work collegues is 25 and it's aquatics & mugler...

In particular I am happy with she silly amount of Patou I bought as...
Check my wardrobe....most of them are classics that where popular in their time.......
The component that might be the trigger here is cedarwood; this component at least with myself causes some allergy, as well as other wood based frags, regardless which wood,;cedar, sandal,etc.
Good old Aramis
For me it has to be Gaultier Le Male as I am physically allergic to the stuff
VERSUS UOMO- VERSACE
Vertiver - Guerlain
I like Acier Aluminium, quite unusual...although not on your list......:) ..
(have been a way for a while, death in the family....)
I will investigate.....I love Patou...however if the MPG is very similar, it should sell loads, is it??
No surprises here....my top 3;
No surprises here... my top 3;

Rance - Le Vainqueur
Tried the stuff last Friday and was very pleasantly surprised.Normally i do not go for this type of frag as I consider them by- products of companies, such as ferrari, etc
I liked the...
At work..... Patou Prive
Stocking up on back cataloge;
Rive Gauche Pour Homme
I do spray on my hair ( head!;) ): just a little touch , frags on my hair or on fabric tend to last longer than on (my) skin.
My personal all year top frags are:
Rance Le Vainqueur
According to the Chanel rep in my town they only do a 120ml, and can only be bught in London,don't know if this is the case, i would like to try this one...
Touaregh - Il Profumo
I got some samples however it doesn't exite me in the slightest...
Unfortunatly IMO yet another safe, unimaginative mainstream scent.
Santos (original) - Cartier
Aramis by Aramis, (first time in 16 years!)
Caron Pour un Homme and Lanvin's Vetyver on my dad, followed by my first encounter with Patou PH back in the 80's
Rance's le Vainqeur might be a good one, as well as Vetiver - Guerlain..
Patou Pour Homme & Lanvin's Vetyver, purely for sentimental reasons.
Touaregh- Il Profumo
Tsar by VCA
I am not impressed by this one at all, specially not if you compare them IMO to the the other YSL scents; they are all much more unique, daring and complex.
Tsar by Van Cleef & Arpels, train journey ahead!
Why not sample;
Caron Pour un Homme
Tsar - Van Cleef & Arpels
Le Vainqueur -Rance
Santal Blanc- Serge Lutens
Versus Uomo - Versace
Andros - Jovan
(Feeling) Man- Jil Sander
Seen the old version today at TK Maxx, hesitated but didn't buy it, it was only £24.99....maybe I should go back!!
Van Cleef & Arpels
I might be old, if 40 is old, dunno...
My work collegues think some of my scents are ''old man scents, particulary if I wear my Vetivers ( Lanvin or Guerlain), Eau Sauvage or, Moustache by Rochas,...
Rance - Le Vainqueur, the Winner today!
Well done; you are in a great position to test market your creations here, and I would certainly continue to allow your guest to sample your frags...
Great suggestions here, Thanks!
I am getting tempted to expand my original list as usual as I picked up the Vetiver at TK Maxx for next to nothing........
Something tells me I should go back...
I double Guerlain's Vetiver
Le Vainqeur - Rance
Il Profumo - Touaregh
Pay day is just around the corner and every month I create a wish list of my next purchases.
Last month I said I would be buying ;
Vintage Habit Rouge
Although I like it, in the late seventies and early eighties you couldn't go anywhere without smelling it....
It's like the ''I will survive'' track; It's good, but I've just heard it to often...
Vetiver - Guerlain
Feeling Man - JS
Santal Noble - MPG
Versace - Classic Versus L'uomo
Il Profumo - Touaregh
Not animalistic, however exuding sex according to my wife and female friends are M7 as well as Patou PH, specially if it's from the day before but still on your leather jacket ..:confused:
I do spray frags on my shirts, however some do stain,f.e Patou, Aramis, Givenchy Gentleman(on white); not permanent, but for the day,once dried.
On a positive note, frags last longer on fabric...
My last drop of VOLEUR DE ROSES
The usual suspects; Gio, Issey and le Male;
Popular one I don't smell to often is Dior Homme
VETIVER - Guerlain : The sun's out!
Santal Noble - MPG
Not really, I tend to decide the day before what my day frag will be and if I am planning to go out or got a gig I tend to dedide this ahead as well based on the occasion..
A classic to me means a fragrance that thanks to it's originality and popularity has survived the test of time and is still worn way after it was created.
A fragrance can still be a classic even if...
Fragrances that I used in the eighties and others that where popular include:
Touaregh - IL PROFUMO
Maybe not the best, however great:Il Profumo's Chocolat
MPG - Santal Noble
Try Rue Rance's Le Vainqueur; sounds French, is however produced in Italy;
If you love D & G, this is your ultimate version; you 'll love it!!
Similar, but better!:)
Get it, I love it; the one you discribe sounds like the red Jil Sander Man, as per box, or Feeling man as it is called.plain glass.
The Pure comes in a brown glass bottle.all other comments^^ here...
Sometimes I am surprised when I spot a ''niche'' frag when I am not expexting it at all, but then, I could have been one of them....
Santal Noble, MPG
Nice article, hopefully it will be read by a young crowd as well...
Big gig tonite, from 5pm to 6am, only Patou PH will last the distance.....!!
Hell no, I am very carefull with blind buying; it's like going on a blind date and having to go all the way, regardless if you fancy the person or not....:D
Kenzo PH & SMW
Terre d'Hermes & M7, struggling with the third...
