Go classic. Obsession!
I actually got barbershop from liz claiborne's Mambo, but i agree with the pinaud clubman.
my current (not currant) obsession is signature scent by bond no. 9. the OUD is both intriguing and intimidating. The notes in riverside drive also are intriguing to me. antedote is the bomb btw!
I must must must downsize at over 115 frags. I think what you love should stay. As far as what you (or me) like(s) , a few likeable bottles on hand is not too bad, but i have prob 30 or 40 that i...
2nd night in a row for Roger and Gallet Vieille. Can't get enough!!!!!!
desire is the better scent imo!
Cuir Amethyste is the only one i like. It's sweet and fizzy on top with an underlying wood note somewhere under that. Slick scent!!!!
I didnt read any of the responses but calvin klein has obsession night if you can still find it. Its been a minute since i've hit the cologne counter.
carolina herrera if you like cedar. It sticks around well too!
slapped on some thiery mugler cologne for my sotd.
not sure on my sote yet.
Gucci II for men.
CAN'T be done imo.........sorry
tuscany definitely lasts long. I'm not a j.h.l. kinda guy. havanna rocks hard.( i love the spicy stuff.) IMO, I would own all of them exept JHL.
Gucci pour homme II today!!!
givenchy pi for me today.
Only one does this on me that I know of and its great every time: Bond No. 9 Riverside Dr.
It smells just a little different every time but always wonderfull.
death would wear( oh my) NOTHING! I know it's awefull!
where can i get this?
+ 1 more i love this one. I also like pinaud clubman's virgin island bay rum (watch out for the burn after you shave tho)
chanel "mantaeus", "tuscmany", escada pour homme, havanna (great), lalique( a little soft but still manly), gucci envy-i'll stop there.
Totally agree, great frag, bottle is NOT practical!
my high school period was between 95-99. I wore aspen, hugo, curve, and tommy. ( i wore these the most)
4711, jean paul gaultier, tabac, and pino sylvester green generation.
I know for sure that polo green has been reformulated. The oakmoss in the prior formula needed to be changed for some reason. I cant remember why, but polo green is actually drier now. I liked it...
I would say the middle. some where between the fresh start and the drydown is a wonderfull, complete scent that cannot be beat.
carolina herera. I was about 16 or 17. It was like a tractor beam "sucked me right in"!
polo green. 3 sprays, now my entire house smells like it! enjoying every second of it.
i put my git next to my cool water, i dont get the comparison. they might give the same feel but, really, they are not even close imo.
i think carlo corinto rouge is more like git than cw. as far as the others, to me, there really are no "close to's".
4711 is nice. It doesnt last long but, it's so inexpensive- i re-apply several times a day. very fresh and versatile.
creed zest mandarin pamplemousse*(i'm sure i spelled that wrong) is the most interesting imo. light enough for summer yet long lasting enought for winter.
terrible design- I agree!
I almost wore that tonight for my sote Big Daddio! went with anucci instead.
antaeus, pour monsieur, and polo (green). forgot i liked polo, didnt know i liked antaeus but had smelled it a hundred times.
worst: unforgivable, i am king
best : kiss and tell, i also think curve was a great name.
the only 3 i can think of right now without reading anyone elses posts are jovan musk, gendarme, and ck be. all light musks in my opinion. i own and love ck be. jovan is on my to do list.
i got compliments when i wore quasar-i read that one of the notes was supposed to be "newspaper", i enjoyed this one but probably would not buy it again-even tho it's 15 bucks at perfumania.
i half wonder what the other 3 were like. if they were anything i could appreciate even tho they were "budget".
cerruti 1881 amber for the break in yesterday's frag fast.
I also read on wikipedia that miners international bought the rights and are supposed to be re-launching it this year. Does anyone know if this is true?
even tho the bottle is green, i think bleeker street does a good job of portraying grey!
I think interest in fragrance happens over time. this isnt something most people just dive into.
I use the green bar of irish spring and i own mugler cologne. these 2 smell nothing alike-sorry. buy a bar , take it to a bottle of mugler cologne and smell them side by side: not even close.
did this budget aftershave resemble brut and canoe? I read one basenoter's review and he said it did. I am not sure if i remember smelling this one as a kid or not.
bathroom spray if they didnt cost too much. otherwise, i force myself to wear them.
took a break today so, nothing pour homme. lol
for me, its salvatore feragamo for men, and tabu for the ladies. i have nothing good to say about either of these!
original boucheron longest lasting lemon i can find
I wore it all last weekend and I must agree with you. To me, it smells like a lighter Jaguar mark II but its seriously missing a note or 2 along with longevity. Still like it tho.
i wear it in cooler weather. I think that this one, worn casually, is a bit overkill but, i have done it and it did work.
armani attitude for sat and sun.
I dont know about pineapple but, the rest sounds like it would be nice. Bottle looks sharp too!
dreamer a/s today. still looking in my armoir tryin to figure out my sote.
absolutely should wear something .If you ride in the car with a partner, i would just make sure its not too heavy of a scent.
pino sylvester green generation.
Ok so i'm crying now, just kidding........kinda. You are truly a wonderful person. You showed kindness to someone who simply said they liked your fragrance. The world needs many more people like...
my sote was molinard III paris grass.
I wore acqua di gio "rockua" as dad and i say!
It looks like i need to take a trip to perfumania( where i can find all 3 of these) and smell them next to one another. When i do, i'll post my reply. I actually own and like jpg le male.
I would and have picked issey over 212.
I think i understand what you are trying to describe in your last sentence. You have to bring a sample close to even smell it because the opening is so small. I dont smell a sample tho, i put it on....
I can picture silver mountain water or hampton's
Vaniteck by molinard. (vanilla, sandalwood, and vetiver). This is the only "dirty" vanilla I have ever smelled!
I have a little over 100 bottles. I would like to take that down to 15 or 20. But every time i try to figure out which ones i would keep, its way lmore than 20. And then of course, i have those...
went with pinaud's virgin island bay rum for church today. Almost went with gucci envy but, pinaud is not too long lasting so , i can easily go with a different sote tonight.
st. john's bay rum this evening for me. very relaxing!
I hope it never fades, it's one of my staples. I may wear it today.
gonna go with puma this morning then I'm not sure what i'll do for my sote!
I: Issey Miyake
H: herrera for men-one of my favies
about 1/40. I keep a "base set" of stuff that i will never be without. and i will buy 1 out of 40 after that.
Has anyone ever tried thier own version of this for personal use or for a home fragrance? If so, do you care to share your recipe(s)?
My vote goes to bond no. 9 riverside drive. Many will suffice, but this one I think is the ultimate as long as it's not oversprayed.
Oh yeah, I agree. We are the few who could further appreciate those documents because of our hobby. Of course some would appreciate them simply for the age and history.
sorry bud, the original is the only one out of the 17 they made that i like and own. I wasnt offended at the question tho. I just appreciated someone commenting on my thread!
4711 . It's so light, i usually re- apply a few times per day.
pour homme of course.
I'm going with lalique
caswell and massey sandalwood.
escada sentiment today
I would suggest: gucci envy, any bay rum(royall, trumper, st johns), and i know it's not smokey but carolina herrera would work. A trick i used when i was your age was dressing up to wear the "manly"...
when you make up sentences using frag names.
gonna go with cool water today.
tallied it up at 117 not counting samples. Dont have too many samples.
Baldessarini Ambre again for me.
thanks. I dont know about my taste tho. Dad did train me well but, I will grace the drug store frag section here and there. i have many nice frags like bonds, creeds etc. but, I still wear brut, old...
Saw knockoffs for 2 inexpensive frags that i like at the drug store the other day. old spice and brut.
Does anyone else find this funny?
thanx big daddio!
it's a tie between st. john's bayrum and gucci envy. spicy!
curve: 3 bottles, one large and two of the 2.5 oz
I have been thru three of the 3 oz 4711 bottles, so i just got the big 27 ouncer!
essenza di zegna for moi.
my only thought on this one is: where can i get another bottle or ten. its perfect for any season and occasion. ill keep looking!
