Thank you so much, Jon!!
I am very late to this party and all my very favorite Incense perfumes have been mentioned, however, I noticed some missing if this were my list. Two that are worth smelling are Parfum d'Empire's...
It is very strong fruity gourmand. I like it and I usually am careful about application, because it is a little too loud for the office.
Eau de Patou from the 70s. The one that many people identify as the more masculine one.
I like all three concentrations. I also have a vintage EdC and it is magnificent.
+1 for Aramis and Jovan Musk
I'm a girl and I wore Jovan Musk in the mid-to-late 70's as a teenager. My best friend Julie had a huge bottle.
But my favorite 70's perfume is Eau de Patou, albeit,...
Wow, it is hard to imagine amplified frankincense to Bois d'Encens. I wore Bois this week and one of my co-workers seemed repulsed by the church smell :) It looks like I need to try this one.
It feels like summer here in So. Cal. Wearing Un Jardin en Meditarranee. Still pondering if I should get le Nil.
Good vibes to cello (())
Hugs to Twolf ((())))
Today I am wearing Guerlinade. Soft and femenine.
Thank you Ms. Quarry, and Happy belated birthday to Mr. Quarry!!
Today I am wearing In the City of Sin by Kilian, I am liking this one. I got some samples in e-bay :)
Thank you Mr. Hedonist. Is that the Norma Kamali incense? You must smell divine!
Thank you so much for the Birthday wishes. I had a lovely long weekend because I took Monday and today off, although I had to go to a class tonight.
Today I wore Dries Van Notten from a sample a...
I like bright, fresh Jasmin and some classics. The classics: Joy, Eau de Joy, Ode by Guerlain, Snob by Le Galion. The modern fresh Jasmins: Love and Tears, Chanel 1932 and Jasminora.
Uhh, my experience exactly with Si Lolita. The top notes are so fun, the bottle so pretty, but the dry-down was a complete disappointment for me.
I think I am caught up answering PMs. I am so sorry for being out of touch in the last three days.

Adding Terracota Voile d'Ete
I find Encense Flamboyant a bit dirty and very wet.
That sounds interesting. I love Madagascar and could not find a bottle either. Perhaps this new one is just as lovely.
I have an almost full Terre d'Hermes EdT. Are you interested? It does not have a box, but it has lived in a dark closet.
Adding Terre d'Hermes
I agree that Ma Liberte is lovely. I still have some perfume bottle from a bottle I bought in 1987.
I own several of his perfumes, but there are others that I only like and that is not enough. I was disappointed in two of the three Garden of Good and Evil fragrances, but I am sure he will come...
My favorite is Bel Respiro, but it was a tough choice. I wished Coromandel smelled good on me, I really wanted to love it, but it is a no go. I also love Bois des Iles, La Pausa, No. 18, the Eau. ...
Guerlain Terracotta Voile d'Ete, EdT, 3.4 oz, with box, 85% left - $50.00
Burberry Brit Red EdP, 1.7 oz., with box, a few spritzes missing - $32.00
YSL In Love Again, EDT, 3.3 oz., with box, 50%...
I just received a decant. It is very lovely. It starts a bit sweet. I predict this is going to be a crowd pleaser.
Thanks for the comment. I may have to get a sample of Lovely. I guess I dismissed it because it was a celebrity scent.
I think it is very femenine. Not too powdery but the jasmin is beautiful. It will be great for spring. The jasmine is not indolic at all, it is a very wearable, happy jasmine. It reminded me a...
One that has not been mentioned is Rouge by Hermes. It is a very spicy rose oriental, somewhat old fashion. I like it, and a couple of times I almost bought a full bottle, but I don't think I would...
I understood the same, and it did not surprised me since Guerlain has (or had) issued a linen water called Eau de Lit. It smells so good that I do not use it on my linens, I wear it on my skin.
Ken, you will be greatly missed. Congratulations on your retirement. Enjoy yourself and stop by from time to time, will you?
I hope all of you have a great time this Christmas Eve!
Can I join in the mistletoe action. A big kiss to Jon because he smels great wearing Eau de Patou
I will be wearing Winter Delice later...
I would love to own one. Many years ago, my dad's cousin was talking over dinner about how she received a bottle over Christmas from an acquaintance (nice to have friends with good taste, or...
Shalimar EdC. It came in the box with the white background and black fishnet design. It has to be from the 60s or 70s.
Slightly used for a very good price.
I find it very prim and proper. Great office scent and good for summer. I enjoyed the decant I got. I think I still have some left, but I don't see me reaching for it during winter.
I have not tried the majority of these, but of the ones I have smelled, I liked the Desert d'Orient trio, Shanghai, Myhrre & Delires, and the new Ode a la Vanille.
In terms of longevity, Cristalle wins. As stated above, the Eau de Cologne is a "refreshing pick me up" (I really liked that!)
However, I really love the Eau de Cologne. I would not mind getting a...
I know some people who split bottles of 1932. I was too late to participate. I have read some impressions and it is mainly a jasmine perfume. If people are splitting it, it must be available...
This sounds intriguing. I like all PdE offerings, of course, I like some better than others but I can't wait to try it. I hope I am not disappointed. I also trust Mon Petit impressions through the...
I totally agree with you, and I also like it better than the 2010 version.
For people who do not like the price, perhaps a choice is to try the 4 x .25ml refills. I believe I saw them at Luckyscent for $75.00.
Sweet Redemption is one of my favorite Kilian perfumes. It...
Congratulations!! My favorite perfume!
I find it smoother than the previous Ode a la Vanille. I would gladly spend the money on this one and I am not even very fond of vanilla perfumes.
I found it ligheter, less powedery, brighter. While L'heure Bleue is pensive, Nuit is happier, more optimistic.
I agree with Mr. Reasonable, L'Heure Bleue will never be replaced, but this is a more...
Oh, I like them both. I will give a tiny edge to the Lutens. Wazamba seems a bit fruitier to me.
The original unisex one, not the more "femenine" re-relesase from the 90's
This year I have not done a lot of perfume smelling or shopping, but I really liked Mhyrre et Delires, the three orientals by Guerlain, Shanghai, What we do in Paris is Secret, Mitzah, Patchouli...
I love Shanghai, it is on my list. The other one I would consider buying from the series is New York.
I like Granville very much. I need to get me a decant of that, soon
Happy Birthday Kevin, Haunani, KarmaLee, and Kiliwia!
What a wonderful month for birthdays! My mom's is today too.
I am wearing Guerlain's Shanghai today.
I see many are wearing fall/winter heavier perfumes. It is still very warm in Southern California. I can't wait to wear other things.
Today I will probably wear something like Verveine by...
I am in Cologne Blanche today. Too bad Dior discontinued it.
Yesterday I went to see the space shuttle land at the Los Angeles airport. It was great!!
Last time I checked, the Dior boutique at South Coast Plaza carried it. I got a sample from them (although reluctantly :))
Happy Birthday Shadesofblue and Indie_Guy!!!
I am glad I stopped by today and could wish you a very aromatic day.
I am wearing Coco Noir today, simply because it was the first little bottle I saw...
Trying Guerlain Shangai today. Very nice. I see a bottle in my future.
Have a lovely weekend!!
I agree with this one. It is very nice and not sweet. I have tested this week. My only issue is longevity, which is unusual for a Guerlain.
Another suggestion is Mazzolari Alessandro. I really...
Thank you, Twolf!!
I have just been working very long hours, and when I get home the last thing I want to do is to spend time in the computer :( But Basenotes will always be home to me. I have...
(((RHM, 30Roses, Alytike)))
Good luck, Robin
Congratulations G, don't be a stranger
Today I am wearing Eau de Fish :) I took my husband fishing for his birthday.
A decant of Guerlain Shangai. Very beautiful and light almond. I will give it a full wear tomorrow.
I agee with you.
My husband sprayed himself with this at Sephora (jokingly). I had to roll all the windows opend on our way back home. I did not like it at all.
I say: Absolutely!!!!
My fravorite perfume ever. Brings very pleasant memories. It is a quality perfume. They don't make them like that anymore. Citrusy, great use of ylang, wonderful for...
The only one that comes to mind is YSL's Nu
Perhaps Silvler Factory by Bond would qualify as clean incense
Editing to add Passage d'Enfer. White flowers and incense and Chanel #22
I am disappointed :(
I went to my local Macy's and they did not even have a tester.
I should have gone to Nordstrom.
The release is August 14 for the Chanel website, but the in-store (I...
I would love to try this one...on my husband, since Pure Oud smells so good on him.
Mhmmm, I like them both, but maybe lean a bit towards Liu
I can't wait to try it. I always get exited with a new Chanel.

I can't wait to try it. I always get exited with a new Chanel.
1. Habit Rouge
4. Terre d'Hermes
Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol Silver Factory. You can find that at Saks.
I really can't think of any incense you can find at a department store. All the ones I can think of are niche. Oh, Passage d'Infer...
Yes, I had almost forgotten aboujt the Montale. I tried it once at Scent Bar and I almost bought it on the spot.
Thanks for the recommendation.

I would love to go to...
I second Alessandro. I also like Cologne Blanche by Dior. Too bad that one is discontinued.
Happy Birthday Furriner! Did you get any smelly presents?
((Perfumed Lady)) I am sorry you had to go through that ordeal
Greetings every one. It has been hard to keep in touch lately. Too...
Thank you, gentlelmen. I like them both, but prefer Avignon because it is stronger. I had a sample of Around Midnight some time ago. I think that was my favorite of Mark Buxton's line. I hear...
My husband has taken an interest on my perfume collection. He asks me to spray him with something different every day. One day he tried Avignon and loved it. A few days later I let him try...
Count me as a fan. I have a small bottle with not much left and I am considering buying more. I like the interplay between sweet and spicy.
L'Humaniste and Caravelle Epice last over 7 hours on me. Projection diminishes over time, but I guess that is normal
They are sold on-line at the Dior website
I have no problem with alcohol on my hear. I spray perfume on it every day :)
I was lucky to get it for about $13 at TJ Max. It is one of my guilty pleasures.
I received decants of the three of them. The surprise for me was the rose one, it is so beautiful. I did not find any of them sweet. Encense is the only one I have given a full wearing, I loved...
I thought hair mists don't have alcohol, but I may be mistaken. I remember some years ago wearing a Chanel No. 5 hair mist. I sprayed it all over, not only on my hair.
Water Caligraphy by Kilian
Kewart, I have been successful finding the old twisted bottles with the crown on e-bay and other discounters.
I was just asking the same question in another board.
I hope somebody answers your question
I prefer Rock Crystal, but Olibanum is very nice
Zagorsk for Orthdox Church
Avignon for Catholic Church
I feel very happy when I know Basenoters have met and had fun.
I think it deserves its place in the Hall of Fame. It was groundbreaking when it was first launch and set a trend for similar perfumes that followed. However, I think there are others that should...
I have not been able to find it anywhere. Where is it sold in the U.S., other than Guerlain boutiques?
Cuir Beluga for me, although I love Dior Homme and Midnight in Paris
My husband wore the EdP of Midnight in Paris today. He did not like the top notes but he loved the basenotes. I loved it from start to finish. He still smells great, many hours after application.
I can't wait for your reviews. What a great surprise to learn of new Guerlains I had not heard anything about!
Thank you. It is my favorite perfume. I saw my current bottle today. I have less than 1/3 left and could not bear the thought of not having it. It is also getting harder to find.
A very good gourmand. Simply delicious.
Me too! I have multiple personalities :)
A back up bottle of Eau de Patou
